I downvoted this posting because it relies on a feature that Google provides. Yahoo has already crippled their web page-- first, by deleting the "download as spreadsheet" feature a couple years ago. I was able to work around this by very simple means that I will not disclose here because they would use that knowledge to further complicate matters. Then two days ago, I found further changes that made my previous solution unworkable. The Yahoo Finance page used to be very good, as it allowed me to get the daily closing prices for a list of about 50 issues on my watch list (including some indexes). But Yahoo has decided that this is an abuse of their data. Now if Yahoo, can do this, why won't Google do it as well? I think they want us to look at the data on a screen and write it down on paper with a pencil. Considering the various ways that Yahoo and Google collect information on US, I think we best use information starvation technology to minimize any potential exploitation of that data.

The Biggest Mistakes in Managing a Portfolio.
The Biggest Mistakes in Financial Planning Series.
by Harvey Jacobson, CHFC, MBA, CLU.
Investors who have remained consistent with their risk profiles through volatile markets have seen a substantial recovery in their portfolios since March 2009.
