Wells Fargo Financial Advisors Just as Bad as Bankers
Wells Fargo shocked investors when it revealed over the summer that it had fired over 5,000 bankers for opening customer accounts without permission from the customers themselves. The bank's CEO John Stumpf spent an uncomfortable two days on Capitol Hill taking "full responsibility" for the actions of his employees - but not resigning. Now, thanks to dogged investigation by TheStreet's Susan Antilla, it's come to light that Wells Fargo financial advisors are little better than its bankers. They are among the lowest rated in the industry, according to several reports. What makes it more outrageous is that the bank enjoys a reputation for being customer-focused. One of the many lessons here: Don't necessarily trust what Wells Fargo says, and always read the fine print. Banker Fired For Doing The Right Thing
This is what happens someone blows the whistle on the big banks. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian, hosts of The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below. https://www.tytnetwork.com/join “Millions of phony accounts. Fake bank card PIN numbers. Fictitious email accounts. Wells Fargo admitted to firing 5,300 employees for engaging in these shocking tactics. The bank earlier this month paid $185 million in penalties and has since apologized. Now CNNMoney is hearing from former Wells Fargo (WFC) workers around the country who tried to put a stop to these illegal tactics. Almost half a dozen workers who spoke with us say they paid dearly for trying to do the right thing: they were fired. "They ruined my life," Bill Bado, a former Wells Fargo banker in Pennsylvania, told CNNMoney. Bado not only refused orders to open phony bank and credit accounts. The New Jersey man called an ethics hotline and sent an email to human resources in September 2013, flagging unethical sales activities he was being instructed to do. Eight days after that email, a copy of which CNNMoney obtained, Bado was terminated. The stated reason? Tardiness.” Read more here: http://money.cnn.com/2016/09/21/investing/wells-fargo-fired-workers-retaliation-fake-accounts/index.html Hosts: Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian Cast: Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian *** The Largest Online News Show in the World. Why Wells Fargo is the most attractive of the retail banks
Uday Cheruvu of PM Capital spoke exclusively with Livewire about global opportunities in retail banks. When looking at financials our view is that the retail banks have to exist for economies to exist. So you ask, which is the best retail bank? The best retail banks are those that mostly have simple loans such as home loans and credit cards loans. They also have a high deposit base giving them stable and lower cost funding. Put these factors together and PM Capital came up with Wells Fargo. It has low credit cost, a high deposit base and the highest net interest margins of any retail bank. Ultimately, it will be a beneficiary of the financial crisis. When it comes to Aussie banks, however, they are in a different stage of the cycle. Hear why Uday thinks Aussie bank earnings face greater risk. Concerns at Wells Fargo Carryover to Wells Fargo Advisors
We all know about the problems with the bankers at Wells Fargo, but are the brokers through Wells Fargo Advisors in the clear? It turns out that there are many areas of concern that investors should be aware of. The group argued against the fiduciary ruling, which means the advisor must put the client’s best interests first. Annuities are products that have recently been under scrutiny due to their high commissions for brokers. It turns out that Wells Fargo was the number 1 seller of annuities in the country last year. In a recent study from the University of Minnesota and University of Chicago analyzing 100 companies, Wells Fargo had the 3rd worst record of misconduct, as 15% of representatives had an instance of misconduct on their record. In a separate study analyzing 210 firms, Wells Fargo ranked 24th worst on the list when it came to causing investors harm. The poor rankings may be due to some poor customer service instances that have occurred at the company. This includes brokers not overseeing accounts that were listed as non-discretionary, providing verbal advice that an investment was safe then explaining that it was merely an opinion that they are not liable for, and making the transfer process difficult when clients discontinue services with the company. At Wilsey Asset Management, we handle money transfers coming in on a regular basis, and they should be relatively seamless to handle. Just because a broker is backed by a large name like Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, or Wells Fargo does not mean your investments are safe. Today’s company of the day is Molson Coors Brewing Company (TAP). The current price is $107.65 and the 52-week range is $78.17-$111.24. The company produces beers such as Coors Light, Blue Moon, Dos, Equis, Heineken, and Miller to name a few. Sales have fallen 8.9% over the last 12 months and EPS has fallen 6.2% during the same timeframe. The balance sheet looks strong, as the company has a liquid current ratio of 2.44 and low debt/equity of 30.7%. We were surprised to see a tangible book value of 7.76, as many companies in the industry have one that is not material due to acquisitions. Looking forward to December 2017, estimated EPS of $5.22 gives us a target sell price of $86.13. So while you may have a cold Coors this weekend, this company does not appear to be a good long-term investment. We hope you enjoyed this edition of the Smart Investing Daily Briefing. Things Keep Getting Worse For Wells Fargo
Help us cover the political revolution: http://www.patreon.com/TYTNation The findings show that Wells Fargo's problems are worse than the bank previously admitted to when the scandal began almost a year ago. Wells Fargo (WFC) now says it has found a total of up to 3.5 million potentially fake bank and credit card accounts, up from its earlier tally of approximately 2.1 million. In other words, there are two-thirds more fake accounts than previously realized. The additional fake accounts were discovered by a previously announced analysis that went back to January 2009 and that further reviewed the original May 2011 to mid-2015 period. About 190,000 accounts were slapped with unnecessary fees for these accounts, Wells Fargo said. That's up from 130,000 previously. Wells Fargo also discovered a new problem: thousands of customers were also enrolled in online bill pay without their authorization. The review found 528,000 potentially unauthorized online bill pay enrollments. Wells Fargo Teller Whistleblower Guitron On Criminal Fraud, Bullying, Racism & OSHA Cover-up
Yesenia Guitron, a Wells Fargo teller at the St. Helena branch in California began to notice that banks accounts were being opened without permission of the customer. She began to challenge this and was bullied and retaliated against for whistleblowing. Additionally Wells Fargo was targeting Latinos and immigrant workers for setting up fake accounts without the knowledge so that they could be fleeced. She also contacted the CEO John Stumpf personally and asked him to stop the fraud. She continued to be bullied, harassed and was terminated by management. She file a complaint with OSHA and OSHA manager Josh Paul prevented Whistleblower Protection Program investigator and lawyer Darrell Whitman from doing an investigation into her retaliation and illegal activity at the bank. Joshua Paul was also involved personally colluding with Wells Fargo executives in limiting their liability and keeping Guitron from winning her case. A US Federal Judge Claudia Wilken also did damage control for crooked Wells Fargo bosses by ruling that she was not retaliated against for whistleblowing despite massive evidence of the bank fraud and her reporting on it. The judge also refused to notify the US Attorney General and California Attorney General that potentially millions of fake accounts were being illegal set up by Wells Fargo executives. The US Attorney General and present California Attorney General Xavier Becerra refuse to prosecute these criminals for mass bank fraud and conspiracy to defraud the public and immigrants. This interview was done on December 28, 2016. Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, JPM Chase Bank Earnings 🔥
Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, JPM Chase will all be reporting their earnings on Friday and Monday. Earnings reports create an unusual opportunity for investors to make a ton of money and in this video I discuss some expensive lessons that I have learned throughout my years investing. Over the long term I expect bank stocks to outperform the S and P 500.
The Lessons Of Whistleblowing At Wells Fargo Bank By Yesenia Guitron
Former Wells Fargo bank worker Yesenia Guitron talks about her struggle against the criminal fraud by Wells Fargo bank management and executives to open up 2 million fake accounts. Guitron worked at the St. Helena branch of Wells Fargo bank and opposed the bank managers who were coercing employees to open up these illegal fake bank accounts. She was bullied and terminated from the job and has been speaking out about her experience. She also discovered that OSHA and other Federal agencies had been captured by Wells Fargo bank and that even her OSHA Whistleblower Protectoin Program investigator and lawyer Darrell Whitman was bullied and illegally terminated by OSHA for trying to investigate her complaint and many others. The Federal government and California Attorney Generals Kamala Harris and present attorney general Xavier Becerra have all refused to make a criminal investigation and prosecution of the executives who are involved in this national criminal syndicate operation. Wells Fargo has launched a new media campaign called "We're re-committing to you" but while workers have lost their jobs the former CEO John Stumpf was allowed by former US Attorney Eric Holder with over $100 million. Could Wells Fargo Be The Earnings Season Winner Among the Big Banks?
At first glance, Wells Fargo’s (NYSE: WFC) third-quarter results may not look too impressive. After all, the bank missed earnings estimates and it was the only one of the “big four” without loan or deposit growth. However, there’s more to the report that investors should take notice. Origination volume grew in several key areas, and profitability and efficiency improved. Industry Focus: Financials host Jason Moser and Fool.com contributor Matt Frankel, CFP don’t exactly think Wells Fargo is a great investment yet, but this quarter showed the most promising numbers in a while. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Subscribe to The Motley Fool's YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/TheMotleyFool Or, follow our Google+ page: https://plus.google.com/+MotleyFool/posts Inside The Motley Fool: Check out our Culture Blog! http://culture.fool.com Join our Facebook community: https://www.facebook.com/themotleyfool Follow The Motley Fool on Twitter: https://twitter.com/themotleyfool

Wells Fargo Investment Losses & Lawsuits
Common types of investor claims against Wells Fargo are suitability, churning, misrepresentations and omissions and unauthorized trading. Wells Fargo brokers are obligated to make suitable investment recommendations to their clients. Despite this requirement, each year dozens of investors sue the brokerage firm in the FIRNA arbitration forum for making unsuitable investment recommendations. Churning and excessive trading are common investor claims and they are prohibited under most states securities acts. While there are differences between churning and excessive trading, the hallmark of both is trading designed to generate fees and commissions for the Wells Fargo brokers. We have written extensively on churning and excessive trading claims. For more information visit our related website at www.churningfraud.com. All material risks must be disclosed to clients and a broker cant misrepresent and omit material risks to clients. Classic misrepresentations and omissions in securities fraud suits include the following: Touting the stock of a company as a “guaranteed investment” or "secured" when in fact it isn't; Failing to disclose the degree of risk associated with an investment; and making overly positive or optimistic statements about an investment. Unauthorized transactions are trades that a broker makes for a customer without the customer’s permission or authorization. The major securities industry self-regulatory organizations have rules prohibiting unauthorized transactions. FINRA Rule 2010 (Standards of Commercial Honor and Principles of Trade) prohibits brokers from making unauthorized transactions in their customers’ accounts.
