EXCHANGING & WITHDRAWING CASH WHEN TRAVELLING | BASICS OF BACKPACKING #5

04:32
Let's talk money in today's episode! In particular exchanging currencies and withdrawing cash abroad without the massive fees! It is a good idea to exchange a small amount of cash before you leave so you have some funds for taxi’s or a cheeky coffee at the airport. But don’t take too much cash, only enough to cover your first couple of days. Don’t carry anymore than you are willing to lose! Using ATM machines abroad can vary. Some countries will have next to zero ATM machines which will accept foreign cards, like Japan, which is why it’s good to have cash on you till you find somewhere to withdraw. Taking a travel card is a good idea which is where you pre-load money onto the card and spend it in different locations across the world. Some Travel Cards may freeze the exchange rate or have it flexible so you get the best exchange rate when you spend! Using your home bank card is a popular option but can incur some hefty fee’s. Here are some tips: If you need to withdraw cash then don’t take out $50 at a time. Cover yourself for a few days and try not to use EFTPOS machines! --------------------- Important stuff --------------------- Support me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/psychotraveller DON'T FORGET TO BECOME A LITTLE PSYCHO: http://goo.gl/GnWOIt --------------------- Social media is sexy --------------------- Facebook: http://goo.gl/K0u8pa Twitter: http://goo.gl/FsbWJR Pinterest: http://goo.gl/qgRD4v Instagram: http://goo.gl/abzups SnapChat: @PsychoTraveller My blog: http://goo.gl/5zP0dG Business email: psychotraveller22 at gmail dot com --------------------- What I Film My Videos With --------------------- GoPro Hero 4 Silver: http://goo.gl/9AE4Yu Sony A5100: http://goo.gl/Fo1DDY --------------------- Some Sexy Stuff Right Here!! --------------------- Get $30 off your first stay on Airbnb: https://www.airbnb.com.au/c/aford34?s=8 Get $10 off GoPro accessories with the code “PsychoTraveller” here: http://www.sandmarc.com/ (Above are affiliate codes/links which mean if you sign up/buy a product, at no extra cost to you, I make a little bit of money to help me maintain my channel and blog!)

Mastercard Cash Passport stole all my money and left me to starve!

03:48
Listen to one of the phone conversations I had with ''support'' staff from MasterCard Cash Passport as he struggles to explain that he has robbed me of all my money and eventually hangs up on me. Mastercard will steal your money if they find you vulnerable. Do not trust Travelex or Heritage Banks Mastercard Cash Passport with your money as they are selective and calculated thieves. They are opportunists that prey on those they believe to be least able to defend themselves.

How To Travel The World For Free: Credit Cards 101

14:16
Here’s how to travel the world for free, in just the time it takes to watch this video - by using the power of credit cards. Enjoy! Add me on Instagram: GPStephan The YouTube Creator Academy: Learn EXACTLY how to get your first 1000 subscribers on YouTube, rank videos on the front page of searches, grow your following, and turn that into another income source: https://bit.ly/2STxofv $100 OFF WITH CODE 100OFF Merch: http://www.GrahamStephanStore.com/ My ENTIRE Camera and Recording Equipment: https://www.amazon.com/shop/grahamstephan?listId=2TNWZ7RP1P1EB This is the secret to traveling the world for free: CREDIT CARD CHURNING Credit cards will offer incredible bonuses JUST for signing up for their credit card. People who understand the art of how the system works, can use this to their advantage by signing up for said credit card, meeting the minimum requirements to get the bonus...then GET the bonus, redeem that for all types of free travel, and then move on to the next card and repeat the process again. That’s how I’ve been traveling anywhere I’ve wanted to go, entirely for free. Now when it comes to doing this, there are some VERY important rules that must always be followed in order to practice this successfully, this is what they are: First, NEVER spend ANY money you wouldn’t ordinarily spend. The correct thinking is: I’m going to put my normal, every day spending on this credit card until I reach the requirement…then I’m going to get the bonus, for money I was going to be spending, anyway. Second, never pay any credit card interest. For almost EVERY credit card out there worth getting, you are ONLY charged interest if you don’t pay off your balance off IN FULL by the time it’s due. So ALL you need to do is NOT spend money you don’t already have, and then pay off your credit card in full…then you pay ZERO interest. Third, DO NOT DO THIS if you’re about to get a loan on a house, or a car. This is because there IS a very mild impact on your credit score each time you apply for a credit card. Expect that opening up a credit card might lower your score anywhere from 3-10 points temporarily. This is no big deal for someone dropping from a 730 to a 724, or for someone who isn’t planning to get a mortgage or a car loan in the next 8-12 months - it isn’t going to make any difference to you. Fourth, canceling the card: And my answer is always this: it really depends on the card. If the card does NOT have an annual fee, I will ALWAYS keep it - no matter what. There’s zero downside to keeping it open, so you may as well just enjoy it as an extra credit card, even if you rarely ever use it. And on the cards that DO have fees - it really just depends if I get value from the card or not. If you’re not going to get the value for the card after the first year, and it has an annual fee, close it. If you will get value from the card and find it worth it, then keep it open. Because these offers change frequently, if you’re watching this video after June 2019…I would recommend checking out the following sources which list the BEST offers each month, and keep a current up-to-date list: https://thepointsguy.com/ https://www.nerdwallet.com/ http://www.reddit.com/r/churning/ In addition to that, you have two Youtube channels I watch all the time: Ask Sebby: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2cC48A261pBVKztLyzOAnA The Credit Shifu: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEVXhsR6e3D522BHQj9MlLg The American Express Gold Card 40k or 50k Point Offer: https://monkeymiles.boardingarea.com/new-american-express-gold-card-50k-referral-offer/ The Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card: https://bit.ly/2wco8pA The Chase Ink Preferred Business (THIS ONE IS MY REFERRAL LINK): https://www.referyourchasecard.com/21/ZVSGGIXM8U If you don’t want to use my link, here’s the chase link directly: https://bit.ly/2VD9BOe The AMEX Hilton Honors: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/american-express-hilton-ascend-125000-point-no-lifetime-language-offer/ So as you can see…these free rewards REALLY start adding up quick. Start small, get one credit card bonus at a time - slowly scale up as you get more comfortable with it, and pretty soon you’ll be traveling around the world, getting free hotels, and smashing that like button in every country! Visa vs Mastercard - How Do They Compare? (Credit Card Comparison)

07:47
How do Visa and Mastercard credit cards compare? Which one is better? What even is the difference between the two cards? Who should you trust with your money? According to data released April 26, 2018, by the American Banking Association, there were 364 million open credit card accounts in the United States as of the end of 2017. And credit cards are found in most Americans' wallets with multiple studies showing that about 7 in 10 Americans have at least one credit card. With so many cards on the market, which one is the right one to choose? We won’t be looking at every card out there today but we will be comparing two of the major players. The two that we’ve all heard of and most of us have used or will use at some point. Welcome to this episode of The Infographics Show: Visa vs. MasterCard. Using Paypal My Cash to Earn Travel

07:24
Using the Paypal My Cash card to earn travel. The Paypal My Cash card is available at certain drug stores and other retailers in th US. At some of these retailers the card can be purchased with a credit card. If that is the case with your local retailer, you can buy one of these for the maximum amount of $500 and then transfer the money to your Paypal account online. Once the money is transferred you can use the Paypal debit card available through your Paypal account to make purchases. I suggest that you purchase a Visa giftcard that allows liquidation to a money order and use the money order to pay off the credit card. This works for credit cards that give large bonuses for purchases at drug stores. Most drug stores only sell the Vanilla brand Visa giftcards and these can not usually be liquidated easily. The Freedom credit card from Chase is offering 5x points for drug stores from October 1st until December 31st, 2016, so that would be a good way to take advantage of this.

Citi Double Cash Back Card: Best Cash Back Credit Card (What you need to Know 2019)

10:16
The Citi double cash card is one of the simplest and most rewarding cash back cards. This credit card gives you two opportunities to earn cash back: 1% when you buy and then another 1% as you pay to give you a total of 2% cash back. It’s loaded with a bunch of gems but it does have a few doo-doos to it. I’ll take you through a full review of the card and help you decide if this card is for you and if the pros outweigh the cons. You'll see why this Citi double cash card makes the top list for best credit cards in 2019. WARRANTY DETAILS http://i.info4.citi.com/wpm/100164/PDF/Guide1.pdf If you love cash back with no annual fees, then the Citi Double Cash Card is gonna be the card for you. And, there’s no need to worry about whether you’re getting maximum value from your points and miles since you’ll simply earn cash back as a check, statement credit, gift card or deposit into your banking account. Pro's No annual fees. The beauty of this card is in its simplicity, the structure is simple you get 2% cash back for each purchase so it’s 1% when you purchase and 1% when you pay your bill. There's also NO rotating categories like most cash cards and No caps to how much you can earn back. It’s simply just 2% Back ALL the time on EVERYTHING. I love this card because the cash back is simple. 0% APR for 18 months on balance transfers. All Balance transfers do have to be completed within the first four months of opening your card and require a fee of $5 or 3% of the balance you transfer (whichever is greater). The normal APR on this card is 15.74-25.74%. So if you do transfer your high-interest balances to this card MAKE SURE you’ve planned ahead so you can take advantage of the 0% APR and pay off your balance within the first 18 months. We’ve got some other cards that we’ll be talking about in other videos and honestly out of other cards that offer a 0%APR on balance transfers. Citi double cash card offers one of the longest introductory 0% APR periods for balance transfers at a staggering 18 months You need a good credit card score around 690 or higher. The First late payment fee waived. Damage & Theft protection and extended warranty. The damage & theft protection covers up to $1,000 for each item and $50,000 in a year. And this covers purchases within 120 days. The extended 2-year warranty kicks in after the manufactures warranty expires so if you buy a laptop from best buy and the manufactures warranty is 2 years the Citi group warranty will activate after that bringing your total warranty to 4 years. Cons No signup bonus. but no need to freak out because most cash-back card bonuses if we are being honest usually aren’t high anyway, typically $150 or less so really with all the pros its nothing to freak out over. Limited to only 2% rewards. I know Double cash on all purchases is absolutely wonderful, but it doesn’t approach the 5% back you can get on some spending if you’re willing to invest more effort by using quarterly category cards. High foreign transaction fee 3%. The Balance transfer fee of 3% is typical for 0% APR card offers. Just for perspective on a $10,000 transfer that fee amounts to $300. Redemption minimum. Several cards like the new apple credit card allow you to redeem rewards in any amount at any time. For this card though, you gotta have at least $25 in rewards before you can redeem, which equals to $1,250 in purchases. If you’re looking for a cash back credit card with no annual fee, no dumb rotating category bonuses, or caps, the citi double cash card is a hard one to beat. It’s gonna be best for those looking to get a maximum amount of rewards without having to put in a lot of effort to achieve those results, it's honestly a swiss army knife credit card if you could only have one. Subscribe so you can see how this card stacks up against other cards such as the chase freedom unlimited, capital one quicksilver cash rewards, The Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature Card, and the Alliant Cashback Visa Signature Credit Card DISCLAIMER: All the information contained within this video, including materials released (blogs, excel files, newsletters, worksheets, etc.), or anything on our YouTube channel is SOLELY for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES. Credit card, cash or traveller's cheque? Answer in 59 seconds

01:00
So if you plan your backpacking trip around the world you maybe wonder what is the best way to pay or withdraw the money in a different country. Do you need cash? Do you need your own currency like US-Dollars, Euro or pounds? Do you need the currency of the country you travel to? How do you get the cash at ATMs or what is the best and cheapest way? I give you a short summary how we travel, we take some cash but we mainly withdraw money at ATMs with our credit card. We use a special credit card (visa or master) which allows us to get money for free. Calculating the exchanging currency is always difficult and on top you will loose a little bit of money anyways! But you have to live with this! So following those steps in certainly one of the best ways to pay when you travel: 1. Take some cash (to be able to pay the visa on arrival/maybe some food once you arrived/ the taxi, bus or tuk tuk to your hostel/hotel/guesthouse 2. Get a creit card which lets you withdraw money for free (without charging you any fee) 3. Get enough cash! In smaller towns, on islands etc. they only accept cash! So you need money. Calculate round about how much money you need for your trips and withdraw the money in the bigger cities where you can find an ATM. #answerin59seconds YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/thehowtubevideos How to pack your backpack - all you need to pack for a long journey around the world (from New Zealand to Southeast Asia / Packing list): https://youtu.be/e2AVKgasCdI Travel hacks - how to pack your backpack easy and light: https://youtu.be/l56LPXerins Social Networks & Pictures: Instagram: http://instagram.com/thehowtube/ Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/HowTube Twitter: http://twitter.com/theHowTube Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/thehowtube/
