How to make your English learning plan and achieve your goals

19:18
You’re working on your English, but do you have a plan? In this special video, you’ll build your English learning plan by answering six simple questions. Based on your specific goals, I’ll tell you how to achieve them with free and/or paid options. You'll learn what areas of English you can work on by yourself, and when you need the help of an English teacher. I’ll explain when you should take group classes and when private lessons with an English tutor are better. If you’re here, you want to learn English. It may be for academic, professional, or personal reasons, or to pass an English exam, such as TOEFL, or IELTS. These days, there are many options for you to learn English: books, videos, online, English schools, private tutors, Skype, newspapers, movies, music, and so many more! I’ll discuss each of these methods and how they can help you reach your goal quickly, and efficiently, regardless of your budget. I’ve helped thousands of English learners reach their goals, and I know you can do it too! To contact me about private online lessons, go to https://www.RebeccaEzekiel.com/ TRANSCRIPT Hi. I'm Rebecca from engVid. In this special lesson I'm going to show you how to plan your English learning so that you can get the best results based on your needs. And in order to identify your needs, we're going to go through a series of questions. Okay? Now, these are the same questions that I use with my consulting clients from all over the world to help to find the best path for them to achieve their goals. And I believe, if you follow these steps, you will be able to do the same thing. So what you might want to do is to grab a piece of paper, and as we go through the questions, make some notes for yourself. Okay? And then by the end of the lesson, you may actually have a much clearer idea of what the next step is in order to achieve your English learning goals. Okay? And also, what are the best strategies that you can use to get there. Okay? So, are you ready? Let's get started. Okay, so the first question that you need to ask yourself is: "Why are you learning English?" Now, I know that sounds pretty obvious, like: "Why? Well, okay. I need to... I have to..." These are some of the things that I hear upfront, then when we go a little bit further we start to get more real reasons. And why is that important? Why is the "Why?" of our life important? Because the "Why?" is the motivation, the "Why?" is your fuel to reach... To help you take this journey. Okay? Learning English is a journey, and you need that motivation and you need to know clearly: "Why am I doing all of this?" And so, in order to do that... First somebody might say to me: "Well, I'm learning English for my job." I say: -"Okay. Why are you learning English for your job?" -"To get a better job." -"Why are you trying to get a better job?" -"To earn more money." -"Why are you trying to earn more money?" -"Because I have to provide for my family." -"Why do you have to provide for your family?" -"Because I love them. They're the most important thing in the world with... to me." Okay, now we found the real reason. It wasn't just that you're learning English for your job, you're learning English for your family who you love with all your heart. So, like in everything, there's a rational reason why we do something and there's an emotional reason. If you can find your emotional reason, then along with your rational reason, now you have really strong motivation. So ask yourself these questions, okay? Because nobody has to do anything; we choose to do something. Find your: "Why?" and you will have the strongest motivation to achieve your goals. Okay? So, now, more specifically, let's look at some of the "Whys" that people have usually. So, number one: University. Let's suppose you're trying to get into university. Why is it important to know that? Because the "Why?" is also going to determine the "What?" What you need to study. So what's your "Why?" Is it to get into university? If so, then you need to focus on academic English. All right? And that's actually an entire field of English language learning. It's called English for academic purposes. Then you need to get those kind of books, attend those kind of courses, work with teachers who have experience in those areas. All right? Why? Because your needs are very specific. Right? Your needs are to be able to write papers and assignments at a university level, to understand lectures, to read textbooks with lots of technical vocabulary. Right? So that's why focusing in on your "Why?" to get into university will help you to determine your "What?" All right? There are many more questions. Let's suppose your "Why?" is an exam, you need to pass an exam. Then... Let's suppose it's the IELTS, or the TOEFL, or the TOEIC, or the PTE, then your study strategy is completely different. Right? From somebody else, because these exams are like a world in themselves. […]

How To Study Better - Best Study Techniques

07:32
https://www.blackbeltmemory.info/3secrets/?WickedSource=Youtube&WickedID=how-to-study-better Get memory training tips at link above now Remember To Get Your Free Training To Become a Memory Pro: https://www.blackbeltmemory.info/3secrets/?WickedSource=Youtube&WickedID=how-to-study-better Any student can improve their study habits and study skills to improve their grades and do it with less study time and less stress. My 10 best study skills tips are: 1. Study in chunks. Research tells us that there will be a diminishing return on study time if we don't take breaks. Studying in 25-50 minute segments with 15 minute breaks is ideal. Then go for a walk or do something to get your blood pumping 2. Get 6-8 hours sleep the night after you learn something and the next day when you wake up you will know it better 3. Take notes in class! This is big. It is better for you to take the notes instead of just copying someone elses 4. Clear your mind of all distractions before you study 5. If you find when you study you mind begins to drift focus in on a keyword in the text you are reading and repeat that word over and over until you are again focused 6. Learn the most important ideas first. Read the learning objectives or table of contents first. These are often the details you should be looking for while reading 7. Learn the list of terms or glossary in the back of the book 8. Chew gum while you study. Then when you take the test chew that same flavor of gum and studies show this will help you remember what you were studying (weird I know, just try it) 9. Trick your brain into what you are studying is a plot to a movie or tv show. Imagine it is an exciting script 10. My favorite study skill tip is to use the Mind Palace technique. I think this will have a HUGE benefit to your studying. For more details about the Mind Palace go here https://www.blackbeltmemory.info/3secrets/?WickedSource=Youtube&WickedID=how-to-study-better So those are my best Study Skills tips. I encourage you to use them in your studies.

How to Achieve Your Most Ambitious Goals | Stephen Duneier | TEDxTucson

17:53
How you define Stephen Duneier depends on how you came to know him. Some define him as an expert institutional investor, while others know him as a large scale installation artist, avid outdoorsman, professor, decision strategist, coach, business leader, mindfulness extremist, author, speaker, daredevil or Guinness world record holder. In his talk, Stephen explains that what truly defines him aren't titles, but an approach to decision making that transformed him from someone who struggled with simple tasks to a guy who is continuously achieving even his most ambitious dreams. For thirty years, he has applied cognitive science to investing, business and life. The result has been the turnaround of numerous institutional businesses, career best returns for managers who have adopted his methods, the development of a $1.25 billion dollar hedge fund and a rapidly shrinking bucket list. Mr. Duneier teaches graduate courses on Decision Analysis in UCSB’s College of Engineering. His book, AlphaBrain is due for release in early 2017 from Wiley & Sons. Through Bija Advisors, he helps business leaders improve performance by applying proven, proprietary decision-making methods to their own processes. His artwork has been featured around the world and is represented by the Sullivan Goss Gallery. As Commissioner of the League of Professional Educators, Duneier is using cognitive science to alter the landscape of American education. He is the former Head of Currency Option Trading at Bank of America and Emerging Markets at AIG International. Objectives of trading strategies, and statistical significance · David Bush

01:19:47
EP 111: Strategy objectives, statistical significance, and market behavior w/ David Bush Returning to Chat With Traders for a second time is David Bush—first on episode 23. David began as a discretionary trader, more than 20-years ago, but over time he’s developed into a quant trader. And he’s exceptionally good at what he does; David’s been the first place winner of two (real money) trading competitions in recent years. Last time David was on we spoke fairly extensively about his path as a trader and a high-level overview of his process. This time around we covered plenty of new ground—exploring David’s process in greater depth. Also, I particularly liked David’s comments towards the end about, “Intensity, not time.” -- Show notes: https://chatwithtraders.com/ep-111-david-bush/

Why the secret to success is setting the right goals | John Doerr

11:52
Our leaders and institutions are failing us, but it's not always because they're bad or unethical, says venture capitalist John Doerr -- often, it's simply because they're leading us toward the wrong objectives. In this practical talk, Doerr shows us how we can get back on track with "Objectives and Key Results," or OKRs -- a goal-setting system that's been employed by the likes of Google, Intel and Bono to set and execute on audacious goals. Learn more about how setting the right goals can mean the difference between success and failure -- and how we can use OKRs to hold our leaders and ourselves accountable. Using Systems And Strategies To Achieve Goals - Optimize Time Management And Organizational Skills

06:49
✔SUBSCRIBE✔ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVBsDhr1P0mSFCdLbv65kNg?sub_confirmation=1 Along with time management and organizational skills, when running a chiropractic practice, it is crucial to have systems in place that will allow you to reliably reach your goals. By implementing systems and strategies to achieve goals, you can maximize your efficiency and get more done while working less. Many entrepreneurs are action-oriented but don’t take the time to develop systems for their business. As a result, their time management and organizational skills tend to suffer. However, you can boost your productivity by developing a business structure that gives you reliable results. The concept of 80/20 can be extremely helpful in improving your time management and organizational skills. Look for the 20% of your business that gives you 80% of your results. Focus on that 20% because it will give you the best chance of designing strategies to achieve goals for your business. Forget about the other 80%. One system that I’ve implemented in my own practice is the design of my patient intake forms. These forms can take a lot of time to create on your own and if you borrow sections from other intake forms, they end up not being as useful as they could be. What I’ve done is over the years I’ve developed my own patient intake forms. My new forms are both detailed and open-ended to ensure that I’m getting the most out of every patient interaction. By the time I see a patient, I already have a good idea of who they are, based on how they’ve filled out the form. This provides me with a reliable way to improve the patient experience and is a perfect example of the vital importance of creating systems and strategies to achieve goals.

The Future of Learning | Sugata Mitra | TEDxNewcastle

18:29
Almost twenty years of experiments with children's education takes us through a series of startling results – children can self organise their own learning, they can achieve educational objectives on their own, can read by themselves. Finally, the most startling of them all: Groups of children with access to the Internet can learn anything by themselves. The mechanism of this kind of learning seems similar to the appearance of spontaneous order, or ‘emergent phenomena’ in chaotic systems. From the slums of India, to the villages of India and Cambodia, to poor schools in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, the USA and Italy, to the schools of Gateshead and the rich international schools of Washington and Hong Kong, Sugata's experimental results show a strange new future for learning. Using the 2013 TED Prize, he has built seven ‘Schools in the Cloud’, where Self Organised Learning Environments (SOLEs) and a ‘Granny Cloud’ of mediators over the Internet, interact with unsupervised children. Sugata will present the main findings. We begin to see some glimpses of what schools should be for and what curricular, pedagogic and assessment changes will be required in the future. In this talk, Sugata will discuss what steps existing schools can take in order to prepare themselves for the changes that are, inevitably, going to come. Follow Sugata on @sugatam Sugata Mitra is Newcastle University’s Professor and Principal Investigator of Educational Technology, and world-wide known expert of self-organising systems. A physicist by training, he has worked on Organic Semiconductors, Energy Storage Systems, Bots, Remote Presence, complex dynamical systems. Since 1999, the focus of his research has been on primary learning and the Internet. Sugata has achieved international acclaims for his successful ‘Hole in the Wall’, ‘Self Organised Learning Environments’ (SOLEs) and ‘School in the Cloud’ experiments on unsupervised learning amongst groups of children. He is a recipient of many awards, among them the million-dollar TED Prize in 2013, and has spoken extensively about ‘Minimally invasive education’ all over the world. NO 🌏Where are you from? Tel-Aviv, Israel (I speak Hebrew) ❓ How did you lose your accent? I learned acting in NYC and acquired an American Accent. So I never really lost anything. I also talk about it here: https://goo.gl/PShZ9s 🤔 How can I sound more like a native speaker? You don't have to. A foreign accent is not a bad thing. It's a part of your identity. Of who you are. Your goal should be to sound clear, to have an impact when you speak, and to feel confident in your English voice so that you never let your English hold you back or prevent you from achieving your goals. Aiming for 'speaking like a native' sets the bar so high, you may get discourages and won't even dare to try. #CommunicationOverPerfection 😩What's the worst thing about traditional English training? It's taught as if everyone has the name needs. And it's mostly boring. 🇺🇸Do native speakers think you are American? At first. But later in the conversation, they may detect a subtle accent. Depends on what I'm talking about and how tired I am. I don't care about it too much though, I'm a proud non-native speaker ✊ 🇮🇱🇵🇸What do you think about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? I think land is not worth dying or fighting for. I will always promote peace and co-existence. And for me communication in English is a way to overcome political and cultural barriers. 🎓Do you teach 1:1? I don't. Excerpt from an article on Lifehack.org: Sometimes you just want to give up. It’s not the most popular thing to admit. But it’s true. In life, as you strive to make things better, they often get harder. There are obstacles, frustrations, and at times the journey to success feels never-ending. But there’s hope. You’re not alone in experiencing adversity while working toward your dreams. Everyone goes through it. Stephen Pressfield explained why this happens in his book The War of Art: “Rule of thumb: The more important a call or action is to our soul’s evolution, the more Resistance we will feel toward pursuing it.” Resistance to doing something that matters is often a sign you’re on the right track. And if you’re not vigilant, it’ll make you quit your dream. And that’s no bueno. Don’t let anything stop you. Not the resistance, the obstacles, your self-doubt, your circumstances, the length of the journey, your failures, or your past. If your soul has resolved that it will not rest until your dream is your reality, then don’t quit. Keep going. Put in the necessary work, get the help you need, and keep going. Eventually, you will get there. But only if you don’t quit.

Strategy Development Simplified: What Is Strategy & How To Develop One? ✓

53:59
In this month's episode, I teach you various layers of strategy and how to use strategy tools. What I’d like to do in about 45 minutes to an hour is to give you a sense of what strategy is, what tools we use to develop strategy, and then teach you how to apply these corporate level tools to our day to day lives through developing strategic thinking abilities. So if you take this mini-course, by the end of it, you’ll very clearly learn what strategy is and its various levels such corporate strategy, business strategy, and functional strategies. You will no longer confuse it with tasks or goals, then you will learn about Strategy Canvas with value curves. It’s a tool that will help you see the bigger picture, help you with the positioning of your offerings and hence develop strategies to become… unique. And while I am teaching you these, I’ll run so many case studies to make it crystal clear for you. Then finally, the second half of the video will be the most useful part to you. Because in reality, you are probably not the strategy manager or the CEO of a large multinational company, you are probably not Coca Cola’s Chairman, so what I did at the 2nd half of the video is to customize strategy development so it can be applicable to your day to day lives. You will learn how to develop a strategic thinking that will apply to your work, apply to your family life, your school, in simple terms; your life. You’ll be a smarter person, because you’ll be more strategic in your thinking, you’ll have more success because you’ll be able to identify more opportunities, you’ll fail less because you’ll be able to identify risks even before they become apparent. And I’ll try my best to do the impossible and cover everything under 1 hour and make it super easy to understand. I’ll try but let’s see if I’ll succeed. So, what is strategy; Strategy is a word that gets used a lot and often in a wrong context. Most people confuse it with goals. Essentially, strategy is a roadmap to how we are going to win. Where you are is your “as-is” state, and where you want to go is your “to-be” state. How you are going to bridge that gap is your strategy. So, if I was to teach strategy to my children I’d say, you wanna reach the finish line first. You may walk straight to the finish line at 5 kms per hour, Or you may extend your route, take more time as you have to travel more distance, but collect the speed boost on the way so you go faster at the end at around 20 km per hour. Collecting that speed boost to win would be your strategy. now let’s get back to the adult world, in business, we have 3 major layers of strategy; We have Corporate Strategy We have Business Strategy And we have Functional strategy So, let’s start with corporate strategy;

Business Studies - Corporate Aims & Objectives: Business Exam Tips

03:09
Get Unlimited Access to GCSE Tutor Videos & Online Revision Here for £19.99: http://www.revisionapp.co.uk/product/online-gcse-revision. Corporate aims are the long term goals that assist a business in setting objectives. Typically they are expressed in a mission statement. For example a corporate aim could be 'to become the worlds leading sports brand'. This will allow a company to set appropriate objectives and targets. For example, increase productivity or to increase the quality of their products. The mission statement outlines the aims of the company. Its purpose is to outline the shared purpose of the stakeholders. It gives a sense of direction to all of those involved with the company. Quite often a mission statement will delineate what a company has achieved, what the corporate objective is and the strategies it will use to get there. Objectives are medium- to long-term goals of a company. Objectives need to be achievable and realistic as its the employees who are working towards achieving them.an An unrealistic objective puts vast amounts of pressure on the workforce and can demotivate workers. A way around this is to agree objectives by consulting the employees. This promotes sense of belonging and responsibility and in turn leads to lead to higher levels of motivation. The corporate objective are all the goals that a company has. They are always based on the company's aims and mission statement. They could include objectives such as maximise profits or achieve long-term growth. In order to meet its objectives, a company must develop and implement a strategy. Strategies are medium to long term courses of action that guides a company to meeting its objectives. The strategy is like a road map that includes details on what needs to be done, when, how and what it will take. Stakeholders are individuals or a group of people who have a direct interest in the activities of a business. The main stakeholders are managers, staff and customers but could also include the government, creditors and the local community. Every stakeholder is will want the business to achieve a different objective or to follow a different course of action. These differing opinions and views often result in conflict between the stakeholder and the business. For example, owners seek high profits and might be reluctant to see the business pay high wages to its employees. However, a decision is made move production overseas because it reduces staff costs. Although the move benefits the owner the existing staff have got the raw end of the deal, and will lose their jobs.

They focus on managing outputs instead of business outcomes, and very few ever achieve business agility. The word comes from Greek and means "art and science of using all possible resources to achieve certain military goals". In IT service management, it takes a different sense, of course, but the underlying theme is the same. In the context of IT service management, Service strategy is used by service providers to do two main things, to attain market focus such as where and how to compete and to distinguish capabilities, so as to demonstrate the value provided to the business. The service strategy of any service provider must be grounded upon a fundamental acceptance that its customers do not buy products; they buy the satisfaction of particular needs. Therefore, to be successful, the services provided must be perceived by the customer to deliver sufficient value in the form of outcomes that the customer wants to achieve. For example, when a customer, say for example you, approach a telecom company, are you looking to buy a phone or maybe an unlimited talk time plan?? That well maybe the finished product, but what is your basic and particular need.....? It is to communicate with another person, across distances and anytime of the day and if any telecom company overlooks these needs of a customer, they will soon be out of business. And this is the reason why telecom companies are not called telecom companies anymore; they are called communications service providers. Achieving a deep understanding of customer needs, in terms of what these needs are, and when and why they occur, also requires a clear understanding of exactly who is an existing or potential customer of that service provider. This, in turn, requires the service provider to understand the wider context of the current and potential market places that the service provider operates in, or may wish to operate in. Irrespective of the context in which the service provider operates, its service strategy must also be based upon a clear recognition of the existence of competition, awareness that each side has choices, and a view of how that service provider will differentiate itself from the competition. All service providers need a service strategy. The first book in ITIL v3 core publications or the first phase of Service Management lifecycle; Service Strategy provides that guidance to service providers. The KEY ROLE of this lifecycle phase is to stop and think about WHY something has to be done, before thinking HOW.
