To create a better everyday life for the many people: that is the IKEA vision. But, what exactly do we mean by this? How can a home furnishing company create a better everyday? http://www.IKEA-usa.com We believe quality and design should be affordable to many. We use the five elements of "democratic design" -- form, function, quality, sustainability and a low price. So instead of thinking outside the box, we got rid of it. At IKEA, we want to inspire people to create the home they dream of. Follow us on a journey from home through design, supply and distribution to find out how they come together to create quality products at low prices. To us, creating a better everyday life for the many people also means making a difference for the people and communities where we work. This film lets you know more about how.

It definitely has a sexy tone to it right? Project… I just love the way it sounds. I wonder how cool it must sound in French. Proje… Well, project is a temporary endeavor to create a unique solution. Yeah that’s operations. No Well, the difference between a project and operations is fairly simple. A project ends. So, it’s temporary. You implement your project, you close it, you create a unique product/service/ or whatever outcome you wanted then you are done. Whereas in operations, it’s on-going and repetitive. You may have also heard about the terms program and portfolio. Let me just quickly explain them here. Program is multiple projects put together. Combined. And Portfolio is similarly. Multiple programs put together. So, it’s project, program, portfolio. Now before I go further, and dive deep. You need to understand something crucial. To run any project, you need 2 methodologies. The first one is a project life cycle and the second one is project management process. Most people confuse these 2. And if these are not clear, you can kiss the PMP certification goodbye. It’s absolutely amazing how many content creators in YouTube confuse these two. They are not interchangeable. You cannot afford to confuse a project life cycle with a project management process. Don’t worry I am going to make it very simple for you. Let’s start with Project Life Cycle. Project Life Cycle is unique to a project, to an industry, to your needs. It’s highly customizable. Think of it like this; a human development is a project. So, your life cycle is; 1) Conceiving 2) Birth 3) Childhood 4) Teenage hood. Teenage hood. Is that a word? Teenaging? 5) Adulthood 6) And death Easy stuff right? So, now if it was an IT project. I am not an IT but it would like something like this; High-level design Detailed Design Coding Testing Installation And Turnover This is project life cycle. The term cycle is a bit confusing here. I think. But who knows. This video covers; project management project management institute pmp project management professional certification project life cycle project management PMI managing a project project management fundamentals fundamentals of project management project management for beginners project management course

Businesses can be very complex organisations with many hundreds or thousands of people working in them in many different roles. In order to manage their resources effectively, businesses must have clear organisational structures in place. Organisational structures include the different relationships between people in an organisation. For example in some cases, an employer might want to have a very formal relationship between people in the organisation in others it might be more relaxed. This happens in every day life too. Think about any organisation you're a part of. Do you call the other people by their first names? Do you call them by their title? What about the other members themselves? Do they call each other 'Mrs D', 'Dr X' or 'Mr M' or do they refer to each other by their first names? How do they refer to the the person leading the organisation? Different levels in a business are referred to as hierarchies. A hierarchy occurs where people are given some sort of title or rank that signifies their importance in the organisation. All businesses have employees working at different levels of responsibility. At the bottom, a business depends on its operatives to produce the products or services. Team leaders often perform the day-to-day management role, with operational managers setting direction and strategy for the business as a whole. The number of employees in each level will depend on the business' organisational structure. It is important to determine who takes responsibility for decision making, who reports to who and who to blame when things mess up (or who gets the pat on the back if things go well!) There are three typical organisational structures. They are known as hierarchical, flat and matrix. A hierarchical structure is typical in large companies where each level of employee reports upwards and each level has a narrow span of control. The downside of this type of structure is that it can often lead to significantly slower communication and decision making. A flat organisational structure has much less levels of hierarchy and wider spans of control. This means employees at each level can communicate with managers more easily and quickly. However, this usually means that workers take more responsibility for decision-making. The benefits of this are that it may encourage a more dedicated and motivated workforce. Typically this type of structure is used in small businesses and start-ups. A benefit of this structure is that it allows the business to change rapidly to respond to the market, customers or competitors. However, this only applies if the staff are well trained and are actually capable of making the changes. Lastly, a matrix structure gathers employees who hold the relevant expertise in order to help the business to meet its goals. The people selected come from different levels and departments within the business. The structure can be used in both hierarchical and flat organisations and are typically used for specific projects. Individual team members may come from different parts of the business, regardless of their usual location in the hierarchy. Obviously once a project is over the matrix will be disbanded.

Big Data projects have been about as successful as other IT projects – about 29% successful according to the 2015 Standish Group Chaos Report. Second, Data Scientists are generally assessed to be about 20% productive. The reason for both of these dismal statistics is simple—organizations are terrible about understanding how to use data as a strategic organizational resource. In fact, considering the data is our sole, non-depletable, non-degrading, durable strategic asset, it is really mind boggling how poorly it is managed. Having an actionable data strategy is the first, most critical step in exerting positive control over data and leveraging it in support of your organization’s business strategy. This talk will simply describe: What a data strategy is and its key component pieces How to align your data strategy with your organization’s strategic imperatives while recognizing the constraints of current state capabilities; and How to develop actionable roadmaps that will add value to the organization’s ability to leverage and monetize its data most effectively. Once understood, your organization will be better positioned to support its mission and take advantage of new and existing data sources while complying with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

The majority of hunters and land managers deal with small parcels of land. Successfully managing and hunting these tracts of land can be challenging, but it is far from impossible. The key is providing everything a whitetail needs so it doesn't have a reason to leave. This can be done through a variety of different measures, but a vital key is not only managing the land, but also the amount of hunting pressure you put on the deer on your property. This week, we answer viewer submitted questions regarding small land management and hunting strategies. We had some great questions regarding food sources, bedding areas, and the best locations to hunt. The main points to keep in mind in all of these is surveying your piece of property and deciding what it is missing. Once you've identified it, take measures to improve it. On a piece of property less than 100 acres, pressure plays a huge role. Providing sanctuaries for deer that you rarely if ever enter, is just as important as bedding cover and food plots. Careful planning goes into every aspect of small land management and every property is different. Strategically making management decisions for your piece of property to make it better than the surroundings land and you can bet you'll have a large number of whitetails calling your land home. The Management Advantage has always been driven by the viewers and this episode is a prime example of why we do what we do. Teaching kids to have self control is one of the most important character traits we can teach. Experts believe that kids who master self-regulation become masters of their learning, are more critical thinkers, and make healthier choices; and the benefits are life-long. As parents, I am sure we have observed that little kids have very minimal self-regulation and older kids have some! We adults have developed this self-regulation over time. While it is something that develops as we mature, should we leave the ability to self-regulate up to nature alone, or is there something we could do at home to help kids develop or strengthen this important skill? Some exciting research says self-regulation is something kids can learn. And the best part? It can be taught through play.

Breaking Circular Innovation - https://stefano.tips/CircularInn Looking for Corporate Training in Strategic Design and Business Innovation? https://stefano.tips/Website Schedule a complimentary session: Strategic Design for organisations (30 minutes): https://stefano.tips/LetsTalk Online programmes on Strategic Design: https://stefano.tips/ContentPlatfrom Subscribe to Stefano's Blog: https://stefano.tips/Blog Circular innovation occurs in a company (as in any other organisation) when its management focuses on maximising operational efficiencies. In creating efficient organisations executives set in place very rigid procedures hampering employees’ ability to think or even to suggest small variations from the norm. Hierarchy matched with an intense level of control (CCTV in any corner) is the best way to preserve the current order of thing within a business. Despite an increasing level of control, it is only a matter of time before management can no longer preserve the current order of things. As the rejection of the rule is spreading a new movement will start around it. Two things can occur: 1)Management considers the suggestion coming from the workforce, and the conversation begins (most of the time this is a negotiation). 2) Spin-off: change-makers and catalysts will start a new venture outside the current company. In a way or another, the current rule is irreversibly under attack. While we can see this dynamic happening in many parts of our lives, the hard part is answering the following questions: 1) How long will the circular innovation cycle last in a company? 2) Can/will an organisation embrace the new idea? 3) Is it worth creating a new organisation to implement a new idea? More to come on this. This type of questioning can be used effectively during free-flow child initiated times as well as adult led sessions and makes an interaction into a meaningful learning experience. The strategy allows children time to reflect upon their behaviour and support their Personal, Social & Emotional Development. About Me: I am an Early Years Leader from England, UK.
