Some of these words will vary depending on region, country, and personal preference. Also, chanclas (as far as I know) is more of a Mexican word. I'm interested to see what others have to say. In Mexican Spanish, other words might be used: la camiseta = la playera la chaqueta = la chamarra los pantalones cortos = el short / los shores In Perú tenis = zapatillas pantalones cortos = shorts o bermudas camiseta = polo *camiseta would be like a sports jersey jeans = vaqueros Rate this video if it was helpful. Inside the The Drug Flats of Barcelona

09:24
Since 2016, criminal gangs have occupied more than a hundred flats in central Barcelona to sell and use drugs, turning them into so-called narcopisos. Neighbors living in what were previously peaceful areas complain of fights, stabbings, and sometimes being terrorized out of their own homes. But despite their calls for help, it can take months for the police to intervene. VICE investigates how the narcopisos operate, how they affect the city’s residents, and why they are so prevalent in Barcelona. English words of spanish origin - English Vocabulary Video Blog : http://www.learnex.in Website : http://www.letstalkpodcast.com Facebook : http://www.facebook.com/letstalkpodcast youtube : http://www.youtube.com/learnexmumbai Hola! So are you curious about the influence that Spanish has had on English? As people of different languages intermingle inevitably some of the words of one language become words of the other. These words are also called as loanwords. Words that are borrowed from another language. Below are some words that are originally Spanish words but now a part of the English vocabulary. 1) Bonanza - A source of great wealth or luck. Prosperity 2) Breeze - Gentle wind 3) Fiesta - Party 4) Cafeteria - In Spanish there's an accent on the "i". Originally in Spanish the cafeteria is a coffee shop. 5) Cargo - Ultimately derived from the verb cargar which means to carry. 6) Cilantro - the fresh green herb also called as coriander. 7) Macho - The real strong man 8) Mosquito - Little fly

Learn Travel Spanish: How to ask for prices

15:23
First, think: What am I buying? Second, where am I buying it? Next, select the most appropriate question to ask for the price in Spanish. There are many different ways native Spanish speakers use to ask for the price of something. These questions depend on the quantity, place, location, and context. I will teach you which question is the most appropriate according to different contexts. In Spanish, the question is different if you are at the counter or at a table, at a store or on the street, at the corner store or in a mall, at the supermarket or in a “tianguis” or mercado, at a vegetable shop or butcher shop, and so on. You might think that you already know how to say “How much is it?” in Spanish: "¿Cuánto cuesta?" Though this "¿Cuánto cuesta?" question is very useful, there are many other ways that are just as useful but more appropriate for other more formal places or less formal places. More importantly, as you probably know by now, all nouns in Spanish, things in Spanish, have a gender, so I will give you tips that will help you ask your Spanish question regarding prices more completely and correctly. Even better, you will learn what to do and how to ask for the price when you are not sure about the gender of something you want, and will likely buy. And even more and more, you will learn how to bargain (my favorite!) in Spanish. But be careful! You have to watch this video because if you bargain at the wrong place at the wrong time, you will be shamed in public (shame, shame, shame!). OK, well, not really, but it could potentially be an awkward scene if you do not know when and how to bargain with Spanish style. So, in summary, this video will help you to ask in Spanish for the price of something depending on the type of place you currently are. It will also help you to learn how to remember the gender of an object and to use the articles: “el, la, los, las”, etc., correctly. You will learn to bargain with the master bargainer in México and you will learn to select fast and easy what phrase to use on the spot. You will also get some tips so as not to show your innocence as a tourist and possibly get something triple the price. So watch my video and practice it with your neighbor. Do not forget to watch my other videos. I have videos about Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and real life situations in Spanish. I also have shared with you some tricks and tips if you are travelling to a Spanish-speaking country. The Quintessential Spanish Cove. (Sailing La Vagabonde) Ep. 127

We go for a scooter ride around the island on what could fairly well be described as a lighthouse tour headed by Christian (the inspector). You don't see it in the videos but Logan absolutely refused to keep up with everyone and would arrive at least 10 minutes late to each lighthouse much to everyones amusement. Probably the most amazing thing from my point of view was that Simone turned out to be a cosmologist but was so humble that we only found out on the last day after Pete prompted her. I know I have written about this before but I really found that to be incredible, I wish I had gotten the chance to speak to her more about it. Anyway the place in the picture above is the type of place you dream about when your planning your trip around the mediterranean. Shear cliff face, tied off to the rocks, previously occupied by ancient civilisations, protected from the Mistral, snorkelling heaven, enough boats near by to make friends but not so many for it to feel... occupied or sort of, spoiled. It was the perfect spot to take all the crew and to meet up with Jeff. Special mention for poor old Tomas who sailed his boat over from Barcelona and put on a feast for everyone on one of the nights but we got no footage of it because everyone was either too tired or having too much fun to even pick up a camera. I also discuss the benefits of being bilingual. 1) Earn more money - Studies show bilingual people earn 2-20% more 2) Bilingual people are smarter - Have higher executive function which means better problem-solving. More focused, better at multitasking. 3) Health benefits - Quicker recovery from strokes, lower stress levels, later onset of dementia and Alzheimer's' 4) Travel benefits - You can better enjoy the places you travel to if you can speak the language of the country. There are 20 countries where Spanish is the native language and over 400 million people's first language is Spanish (more than English). 5) Better communicate with people in the US - Approximately 55 million Americans speak Spanish. The US is the 2nd largest Spanish speaking country after Mexico. 6) US pop culture is full of Spanish and Spanglish. Also, my brother and I both speak Spanish so we speak Spanish to each other in front of our family if we don't want them to know what we're saying.

In August 2002, MLB.com streamed the first-ever live, full length MLB game when the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees faced off at Yankee Stadium. Since that time, millions of baseball fans around the world have subscribed to MLB.TV, the live video streaming product that airs every game in HD to nearly 400 different devices. MLB.com also provides an array of mobile apps for fans to choose from, including At Bat, the highest-grossing iOS sports app of all-time. MLB.com features a stable of club beat reporters and award-winning national columnists, the largest contingent of baseball reporters under one roof, who deliver over 100 original articles every day. MLB.com also offers extensive historical information and footage, online ticket sales, official baseball merchandise, authenticated memorabilia and collectibles and fantasy games. Major League Baseball consists of 30 teams split between the American and National Leagues.
