Have your say in Europe

01:51
A platform has been created for all SME's (small and medium enterprises) to have their say in Europe as currently the European Commission's focus is 'putting small businesses first' and in order to do this it requires direct feedback from all types of business, across all sectors, across the whole of Europe: http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise/policies/sme/small-business-act/listening-to-smes/index_en.htm The Enterprise Europe Network manage the feedback process, so if you need help or have any question get in touch with your local office: http://www.enterprise-europe-network.ec.europa.eu/index_en.htm Sound effects were sourced from: http://www.freesound.org

The programme seeks to encourage entrepreneurship in Europe by matching the experiences of new entrepreneurs with those of host entrepreneurs. http://www.erasmus-entrepreneurs.eu Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is a project initiated by the European Union (EU).

Europe’s New Data Privacy Laws, an Opportunity for Companies

02:58
On May 25th Europe’s new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) laws come into effect - a massive revamp of the EU’s data privacy requirements. The GDPR addresses the problem of exploitation of data and makes businesses accountable with the threat of fines if they don’t comply. Companies may have to invest in technology, or review their internal processes, to comply but they should not see this as a burden but rather as an opportunity, explains in this video Gabriel Pereira Pundrich of the Department of Accounting. It can in fact give them a competitive edge, showing to customers that they comply in terms of privacy and security of their data, says Pundrich. The recent Facebook scandal highlighted in fact how much people today value privacy.

The booming CBD craze, explained

This marijuana extract is everywhere. But does it work? Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO Read more about CBD on Vox.com: https://www.vox.com/the-goods/2018/11/1/18024806/cbd-oil-vape-hemp Cannabidiol is having a moment. Increasingly common state legalization and loose federal regulation means that anyone in any state can go online or to a physical store and buy CBD products — from oils to dog treats to bath bombs — without fear of arrest. It’s been shown to help treat a number of conditions including psychosis, anxiety, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, and epilepsy and seizures. For years, people have used medical marijuana to address those conditions — but CBD is showing promise as a possible way to get the benefits of medical cannabis without getting high. Here’s the catch: Most of the CBD products that have trickled down to the consumer market are poorly labeled and have extremely low doses. Granted, it’s possible that the placebo effect is providing CBD users with tangible benefits. And it’s also possible that low-dose CBD products can act as a form of microdosing, where users take small amounts of a substance to achieve milder or entirely different results than a full dose. CBD isn’t a scam. It’s a powerful substance with a lot of medical potential. But most of the stuff on the market now probably isn’t worth your time. SBA Loans Tied to LIBOR

02:08
SBA is issuing an interim final rule to make adjustments on an emergency basis to certain of its regulations in order to make the secondary market for loans guaranteed under Section 7(a) of the Small Business Act (7(a) loans) more efficient with regard to loan pricing and the formation of secondary market loan pools. Specifically, the interim final rule will permanently add an additional base rate of LIBOR for lenders to use when pricing 7(a) loans, and will allow for secondary market loan pools to be formed with weighted average coupon rates. This interim final rule is necessary to help ensure continued availability of capital to small businesses and to improve liquidity in and efficiency of the secondary market.
