Her current research focuses on romantic competence among youth and emerging adults, the development of relationship education programs, the interpersonal causes and consequences of depression and anxiety, and well-being and relationship functioning among lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals. Dr. Davila is a Fellow in the Association for Psychological Science and the Incoming Editor (2016-2022) for the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology. Managing in a Unionized Enviroment
Member surveys conducted by the BCPVPA in 2013 and 2016 reveal that more than 60 percent of the BC principals and vice-principals have not received training on how to manage in a unionized workplace. The ability to effectively manage employee unions and to understand the collective agreement has great import for relationships, the ability to manage change and on district finances and liability. Kit Krieger has been the BCPVPA Executive Director since July 2012. From 1989 to 1994 he was responsible for training BCTF staff representatives and has sat at both local and provincial bargaining tables on both employee and employer sides. His presentation will include some suggestions on how to effectively work with both teacher and support staff unions in your school.

We’re talking about individuals who are not violating company policy or breaking the law, but whose demeanor, attitude and behavior are off-putting to others. 01:12 Left unaddressed, a difficult employee has the potential to do serious harm to overall workplace morale and productivity, and can even drive other valuable employees away from the department or company. 01:29 You must be responsive to the issues and complaints of the offending employee’s colleagues. Don’t brush them off. Document the complaints in detail, and ask for specific examples of the behavior in question. 01:49 Address the employee in question. This is understandably uncomfortable, but it must be done. Ideally, you will speak with the employee immediately following an incident, so that the event is fresh in his or her mind. 02:19 Follow an established protocol of steps based on a progressive discipline policy. Start with a conversation, or counseling session. If the behaviors persist, move to a verbal and then a written warning. 03:27 If all these efforts fail, you may be forced to consider reassignment or termination of the employee. However, absent special circumstances, this should generally be the last resort and done only after all other avenues have been exhausted.

Narcissists are on the rise, especially in the workforce. While the research is still out on why this is happening; Ann Barnes outlines the different kinds of narcissists, and provides a framework on how to work with them (or not!). Ann began her legal career acting as a lawyer and business advisor for numerous private and publicly held companies. She specialized in corporate securities and intellectual property law within the entertainment and consumer packaged goods industries. Her parallel passion for health and wellness led her to quit law and found and operate a number of superfood companies. Ann is a well-respected public speaker and health advocate and has written two health based recipe books: “Be a Better Being” and “Eat Super, Be Super”. Over 6 years ago, Ann’s passion for plant-based wellness and entrepreneurial opportunities resulted in her funding, co-founding and acting as Chairman for the first Canadian licensed Medical Cannabis Company: Peace Naturals Project. A year ago she sold the majority of her interest to the medical cannabis public company. Her greatest accomplishment is being a Mom to her 2 teens, who keep her on her game at all times. To connect each table, both tables must have something in common. There are two types of relationship, a one to many which works very well in Power Pivot and DAX. Then there is a Many to Many relationship, which can cause problems. In this video we will look at three many to many relationship problems in Excels Power Pivot and how you can easily overcome them. The approach we will take is very systematic. We will build up our data model table by table. This way we can see how additional tables of data, that contain many to many relationships, can effect our pivot table formula. Then we will look at how the problems can be solved. The best way to squash this is to encourage open and honest conversations from the beginning, when things are 'good'. Don't let your mind play tricks on you! 3. Stop trying to mind read 4. Once you ask, don't keep asking! - once you're there, the relationship is over from the persistent pestering. 5. Your relationship needs room to breathe - if you are constantly standing over top of the relationship, you'll smother it. You need to have your own things going on including outside interests and friends. You are individuals that came together. 6. Relationships aren't always roses and puppies - the new relationship is like walking on air. It doesn't last, however. You can't maintain that level of emotional intensity. You'll have ebbs and flows. Don't bail on the 1st sign of trouble! Keep nurturing and working, and it'll work itself out if it's supposed to. 7. Do not snoop! - if you reach that point, you'll never stop because you'll never trust them! You can misread something and turn it into a situation. 8. Go with your gut (instincts) 9. You are responsible for your happiness and only your happiness. 10. Relationships are supposed to feel good where you feel better when you're with this person.
