Sure, a lot of you starting now have some smarts, a good job, and are willing to work hard. All that sets you in the right direction, but over the long-term, over a multi-decade career that simply will not be enough to be truly successful. My 7 Key Success Factors for Business Networking There are two areas I want to review about networking: what makes it successful and how to actually do it! So, let’s review my seven key principles for how to do it successfully and then a five step plan of attack to execute those principles. 1. It’s an all-the-time thing. 2. Give value first. Take second. 3. Give more than you take. 4. Do it live. 5. Do what you say you’re going to do—build trust. 6. Move it forward and expand their network. 7. Build a systematic plan that allows you to execute. My 5-Step Plan to Build a Healthy Professional Network A. Set your networking goals. There are many, but let’s talk about four: • Educations and advancement of your knowledge • Camaraderie • Job hunting • Grow customers, partnerships, etc. B. Build your relationship map by doing your research. C. Identify 60 to 100 people you can connect with who can help you meet your goals. D. Prepare standard messages you can modify. E. “E” is for execute. Adjust your plan according. -------------------- ABOUT ANDREW -------------------- Andrew LaCivita is an internationally recognized executive recruiter, award-winning author, trainer, and founder and chief executive officer of milewalk and the milewalk Academy. Classical Management Theory

10:49
Classical Management Theory, broadly speaking, is based upon Henri Fayol, Frederick Taylor, and Max Weber's overlapping management theories. These three management theories came together to form what we generally refer to nowadays as Classical Management Theory. Virtually all areas of organizational studies from management, to business, to organizational communication put these three theorists at the foundation of most modern day organizations for developing theories of 1) Administrative science, 2) Scientific Management, and 3) Bureaucracy. Taken together, they form the basis for how we organizational structures and relationships between managers and employes. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1433131234/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=alexlyon-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=1433131234&linkId=6bfd9c333c786d16025c5a7c70a3ef4c The Organizational Communication Channel provides supplemental lessons for traditional, hybrid, and 100% online courses for students and teachers everywhere. Relationships are hard enough without being super paranoid all the time. These 10 tips will help you handle your insecurity and allow you to focus on the amazing and beautiful person you have fallen in love with. Don't let your insecurities sabotage a good thing. Insecurities. We all have them whether physical, finances, material, or other. Regardless, nothing can kill a potentially great situation than relationship insecurity. We all have insecurities but managing them is a key component for a happy, healthy, and successful relationship. Aaron Marino of alpha m. presents ten tips to overcome relationship insecurity. 1. Don't judge your current relationship based on past relationship - don't make the current pay for the deeds of the past. 2. Don't confusion imagination with reality - don't read into everything. The best way to squash this is to encourage open and honest conversations from the beginning, when things are 'good'. Don't let your mind play tricks on you! 3. Stop trying to mind read 4. Once you ask, don't keep asking! - once you're there, the relationship is over from the persistent pestering. 5. Your relationship needs room to breathe - if you are constantly standing over top of the relationship, you'll smother it. You need to have your own things going on including outside interests and friends. You are individuals that came together. 6. Relationships aren't always roses and puppies - the new relationship is like walking on air. It doesn't last, however. You can't maintain that level of emotional intensity. You'll have ebbs and flows. Don't bail on the 1st sign of trouble! Keep nurturing and working, and it'll work itself out if it's supposed to. 7. Do not snoop! - if you reach that point, you'll never stop because you'll never trust them! You can misread something and turn it into a situation. 8. Go with your gut (instincts) 9. You are responsible for your happiness and only your happiness. 10. Relationships are supposed to feel good where you feel better when you're with this person.

Managing Employees

04:40
What are the key factors that enable the organizations to effectively manage their employees? The following factors enable the organizations to effectively manage their employees. - Identifying the objectives: The objective of employee relationship management are first identified and determined. Once these objectives are identified all the employee relationship management revolves around attracting talented employees and taking measures to retain them. The success of this effectiveness depends on how much time it takes to hire, turnover time and overall satisfaction among employees. - Deciding on the employee needs: The needs of employees change depending on the age, gender, marital status, role played in the organization etc. The best way to find the needs of an employee is to directly discuss with the employees by setting up a one to one conversation and ask about what their needs are. Organizations do this continuously through various means like polls, surveys etc. - Work-life balance: Ensuring that the employees get enough work life balance is the modern factor to be considered for effective employee relationship management. Organizations achieve this through various means like part-time, flexi hours, off-site assignments etc. - Open and honest communication: Communication plays a key role to achieve effective employee management. Managers should occasionally communicate with the employees about the issues that affect their work. This communication should be as honest as possible. The effectiveness of employee relationship management depends on to what extent the organizations are being open and honest to their employees. This strategy helps in building strong employee relationship and loyalty, improve the productivity of the employees. It will also reduces the turnover and dissatisfaction. - Measuring and monitoring the impact: The management should be vigilant and attentive to recognize discontent. They should also monitor the results of assessment more seriously and share these results with employees. - Maintaining Interpersonal relationships: The effectiveness of the employee relationship management depends on how effectively the management is understanding the needs and desires of the employees and how well they strive to meet these needs and desires. Management should interact with the employees both inter-personally and also formally. They should put contiguous efforts to improve the results. Managing Difficult Employees

04:20
http://blog.hr360.com/hr-blog/managing-a-difficult-employee-video-blog Video Highlights: 0:42 Managing a difficult employee is one of the biggest challenges a supervisor can face. We’re talking about individuals who are not violating company policy or breaking the law, but whose demeanor, attitude and behavior are off-putting to others. 01:12 Left unaddressed, a difficult employee has the potential to do serious harm to overall workplace morale and productivity, and can even drive other valuable employees away from the department or company. 01:29 You must be responsive to the issues and complaints of the offending employee’s colleagues. Don’t brush them off. Document the complaints in detail, and ask for specific examples of the behavior in question. 01:49 Address the employee in question. This is understandably uncomfortable, but it must be done. Ideally, you will speak with the employee immediately following an incident, so that the event is fresh in his or her mind. 02:19 Follow an established protocol of steps based on a progressive discipline policy. Start with a conversation, or counseling session. If the behaviors persist, move to a verbal and then a written warning. 03:27 If all these efforts fail, you may be forced to consider reassignment or termination of the employee. However, absent special circumstances, this should generally be the last resort and done only after all other avenues have been exhausted.

How to Deal with Relationships? | Sadhguru

10:49
Sadhguru looks at how human relationships are not absolute, and are always variable, and need a lot of attention. He explains that the need for a relationship is arising because though every individual is a complete life, people are under the illusion that they are half a life that cannot be without another. **************************************** Transcript: http://isha.sadhguru.org/blog/video/the-nature-of-human-relationships/ Sadhguru: But he must be punished? (Laughter) Either by you or somebody he must be punished. (Laughter and Applause) What kind of punishment do you normally give to people? (Laughter) Already enough of punishment has been given, isn’t it? Already it’s been given – the ugliness, the nastiness, the silent treatment everything has happened, so what more punishment you want to give? Your thing is, there is no remorse on other side. There is no remorse on the other side because people are doing what they want to do, not what you want them to do, always. And that may not be in your interest, but they are doing what they want to do. Is it right, wrong – I am not going into the morality of it. I want you to understand the mechanics of the situation. Somebody is doing what they want to do; now you think they must be punished, probably they have not broken any law, otherwise they would be anyway punished. They’re breaking an understanding between two people; probably you misunderstood the understanding. You believed that these understandings are absolute; they are not. Nowhere in the history of humanity or today or in anytime in future, will human relationships be absolute, though every… every person who gets little romantic, believes that this is going to be an absolute relationship, there is no such thing about it. A relationship is a variable, always; you have to conduct it on a daily basis. One day if you don’t conduct it properly it may go somewhere. Yes or no? No, please look at it as it is. You have to conduct it right, so ‘No I am doing my best,’ – obviously somebody feels your best is not good enough for them. I want you to come to terms with this. Relationships Are Hard, But Why? | Stan Tatkin | TEDxKC

Managing A Narcissist | Ann Barnes | TEDxCollingwood

09:31
Narcissists are on the rise, especially in the workforce. While the research is still out on why this is happening; Ann Barnes outlines the different kinds of narcissists, and provides a framework on how to work with them (or not!). Ann began her legal career acting as a lawyer and business advisor for numerous private and publicly held companies. She specialized in corporate securities and intellectual property law within the entertainment and consumer packaged goods industries. Her parallel passion for health and wellness led her to quit law and found and operate a number of superfood companies. Ann is a well-respected public speaker and health advocate and has written two health based recipe books: “Be a Better Being” and “Eat Super, Be Super”. Over 6 years ago, Ann’s passion for plant-based wellness and entrepreneurial opportunities resulted in her funding, co-founding and acting as Chairman for the first Canadian licensed Medical Cannabis Company: Peace Naturals Project. A year ago she sold the majority of her interest to the medical cannabis public company. Her greatest accomplishment is being a Mom to her 2 teens, who keep her on her game at all times. What it's Like Working In Japan | "Short" Version

30:03
I've never worked in Japan. I mean I work in Japan, but I work from my home and have never needed Japanese language or workplace skills. But I do know people who have, so I set up interviews with 8 of them to see what their experiences were like. All of them worked in the "real" Japanese workplace, from small, modern companies to big traditional ones. Or in other words, they worked jobs that didn't involve teaching English. They needed to be proficient in the Japanese language and business culture. All the interviewees speak English, have lived outside of Japan for some period of time, and have university degrees. So these are not your typical Japanese workers, let's just be ultra clear on that. But I think they do help give insight into what it's like working in Japan and how it compares to working in a global or Western workplace. This is the short version of the interviews. For the hour long version please check it out at https://youtu.be/qrWkgVu2MHo **CORRECTION: It's illegal to not pay overtime, even for full-time employees. There can be some exceptions for management. So I was wrong in saying that full-time employees don't typically get paid overtime. Sorry for the screw up. Special thanks to all those that all the interviewees that let me barrage them with questions. A big thanks to all my Patrons who supported this doc. How To Stop Being Jealous In A Relationship - You'll Be Surprised

If you have been experiencing jealousy in your relationship then this video may help you a lot. The way that I explain how to stop being jealous in a relationship is by showing you the 2 root causes for why you experience jealousy in the relationship. The first cause for why you are being jealous in the relationship is because you think that your partner's love means something about who you are. The 2nd cause for why you are being jealous in the relationship is because you believe that your partner makes you happy and you wouldn't be as happy if the relationship ended. If you want to stop being jealous in a relationship, the way to do it is to discover that your partners' positive opinion doesn't mean you are great, and their negative opinion doesn't mean there's something wrong with you. Secondly, if you want to stop being jealous, you have to discover that your partner can't make you happy. The way to understand this is by recognizing that thoughts cause your anxiety, worry, lack, insecurity, anger, sadness and everything else... and that your partner can't delete these thoughts in your head. I hope you are helped by this video about how to stop being jealous in a relationship, how to deal with jealousy in a relationship, and how to stop feeling jealous in a relationship.

Employees first, customers second | Vineet Nayar | TEDxAix

18:02
"Millions of employees walk through our organizations every day not just to get paid but to be inspired by the vision we have for them", says Vineet Nayar, former CEO of HCL Technologies and author of Harvard Business Press bestseller "Employees First, Customers Second" (EFCS) giving a compelling account of how this idea channelized the energy and passion of 100,000 employees to increase HCL's revenues and market cap over six times! In this must watch 18 minute video Vineet shares at least 8 simple ideas that can do wonders to your Employee Engagement scores and ensure happiness, passion and growth. Not surprisingly Vineet's EFCS philosophy and its execution at HCLT has been described as the "world's most modern management" by Fortune and got him a place in the magazine's first ever Fortune Global Dream-team alongside stalwarts like Steve Jobs. Vineet Nayar is the former CEO of HCL Technologies, founder of the Sampark Foundation and author of a book that is considered as a revolution in management, Employees First, Customers Second. He not only states simple philosophical principles but also applies them successfully: his company has succeeded the challenge of tripling its turnover ($4.2 billions today). Vineet Nayar has been elected best employer in Asia. His very simple idea of « management by trust » through challenging conventional management practices, was described by the American Fortune magazine as “the most modern management in the world”.He later created his charitable organization Sampark (“to be in contact” in Hindi), focused on the training of teachers. He is thus considered as the man who is resolving India’s problems. Indeed, in a country where tens of millions of children are dropping out of school, Vineet Nayar explains that he wants to “have an impact on millions of lives”. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
