Free Online English Teacher Materials, Make the Most Money Teaching Abroad in ESL

08:14
As an English teacher overseas, there are a number of different ways to add value to your classes and make them stand out. In order to bill (and earn) more than your competition in the massive business that is language instruction, you have to do what your competition isn't doing. You have to go above and beyond and create the most efficient lessons possible for your ESL students. It doesn't cost you anything but a little brain work and a small amount of preparation that is easily replicated further on down the road. This can be repeated again and again with other students of English language. *********** 🥇COACHING/MANUAL/RESUME SERVICE ▶︎http://www.benteachesenglishoverseas.com 📕 FREE BOOKLET "The Big 6" ▶︎http://www.benteachesenglishoverseas.com/blog 📰 BLOG: http://www.benteachesenglishoverseas.com/blog 🎥 YOUR PERSONALIZED SKYPE CONSULTATION http://www.rockstarESLteacher.com 🔻 FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA🔻 🔵 FACEBOOK | http://facbook.com/benteachesenglishoverseas ✅ INSTAGRAM | http://instagram.com/benteachesenglishoverseas 💙 TWITTER | http://twitter.com/benteachesESL
Six Ways to Earn an Income as an Online English Teacher

10:10
http://www.teachingeslonline.com/resources-teaching-english-online - In this video, I go through six different ways that you can earn as an independent online English teacher. This will help you think about your goals when teaching online. /// One-to-One /// This is where I recommend starting. It's easier to get learners to sign up and the lifetime value of each student is higher than other areas. Additionally, you'll learn the problems your learners have and be able to repackage this further down the line. /// Group Lessons /// This is where you have 2 or more learners in the live class. It's harder to organize group lessons compared to one-to-one, but I really enjoyed doing this. You can earn more per hour doing group lessons (4 students paying $15 vs one student paying $30). /// Services /// You can offer writing and/or speaking feedback asynchronously using tools such as Google Drive and SoundCloud. I enjoyed doing this in the past and still do some of this through my program. /// Products /// We're mainly talking about ebooks here. This is when things start to become more passive. You'll need to build up your audience to make this work. I recommend starting small and building on your initial successes. Getting this set up is much easier to do these days. /// Online Courses /// This is where I put my focus these days. I have an online course for English learners and one for teachers. I started using a separate platform but soon moved it onto my site. There is huge potential here if you get things right. /// Affiliate Links /// Instead of creating your own products, you can sell products that other people have made. Doing this will typically earn you a commission of 10-75% of the sale. I don't do this for To Fluency because I want to focus on my own products, but I do have affiliate links on my teaching site. *Bonus tip* Advertising. You can advertise here on YouTube or on your site. This takes big numbers to make a decent income, but it could always add to your overall numbers. How to Quickly Learn English Grammar as a Teacher Abroad or Use This Resource in ESL Classes

06:19
A lot of new and seasoned English teachers abroad get freaked out about grammar. This is not a problem faced by just newbies, but a lot of experienced ESL teachers too. No one wants to be in front of a class of 30 people and not know the answer to an English grammar question. The good news is that there are many great resources available to help you brush up on, learn, or relearn English grammar fast so you can rock your ESL classes and answer your students' questions with ease. One of my personal favorites is Khan Academy. It is also a fantastic resource to use in the classroom if you have the appropriate equipment available. English language lessons and activities can be turned into games or competitions and the only real limit is your imagination. *********** 🥇COACHING/MANUAL/RESUME SERVICE ▶︎http://www.benteachesenglishoverseas.com 📕 FREE BOOKLET "The Big 6" ▶︎http://www.benteachesenglishoverseas.com/blog 📰 BLOG: http://www.benteachesenglishoverseas.com/blog 🎥 YOUR PERSONALIZED SKYPE CONSULTATION http://www.rockstarESLteacher.com 🔻 FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA🔻 🔵 FACEBOOK | http://facbook.com/benteachesenglishoverseas ✅ INSTAGRAM | http://instagram.com/benteachesenglishoverseas 💙 TWITTER | http://twitter.com/benteachesESL

Cambridge English Teacher Resources

45:22
Schools and managers want teachers who are continually developing and improving their skills but unfortunately, there is quite often a difference between what an organisation can provide for its teachers and what the teachers need individually. This webinar presents a manager’s perspective on using Cambridge English Teacher resources to guide the professional development for individual members of your teaching team. Firstly, the webinar looks at the non-qualification based professional development options provided through Cambridge English and how they can be used to structure individualised professional development programs for teachers at any stage of their career and development. Next it looks at qualification based development through courses such as DELTA, ICELT, Train the Trainer and the career paths these can lead to. The audience will come away with a clear list of professional development options for teachers and a structured framework to help personalise these options.

Building Your First Website as an Online English Teacher

04:59
http://www.teachingeslonline.com/resources-teaching-english-online - I introduce three ways that you can build your first website for your online teaching business. /// WordPress (The All-in-One solution) /// My first recommendation is WordPress. This gives you the greatest customization moving forward. The good news is that there are so many themes that you can use for your website, including one-page designs (perfect for throwing something up there). I have a free tutorial on how to get started with WordPress here: http://www.teachingeslonline.com/build-website-wordpress/ /// LeadPages (The Easiest Way to Get Started) /// I use LeadPages on this site and for my learners. Mainly, I utilize it for landing pages, thank you pages, webinar pages etc. However, you can use it to have your first online presence. You don't need hosting for this (although, you could host it on your site) as you can host it on the LeadPage's server - it will be like this: yourname.leadpages.net. Once your main website is ready, you can redirect traffic from LeadPages to your site. This is for those who want a good-looking site with minimal effort. My affiliate link for LeadPages: http://link.leadpages.net/aff_c?offer_id=6&aff_id=10056 /// A Website Builder (The Middle Option) /// I created my first site using Yola. This is a website builder that makes it easy to create your website. Other options include Weebly, Wix, and SquareSpace. The upside of using one of these services is that you don't need to worry about the technical side of things. The downside is that you give up some control and it usually ends up being more expensive. You could always start with this option or LeadPages and then move over to WordPress when you're ready. First Day of School Icebreaker Help for High School & Middle School, High School Teacher Vlog

Interview with Justin Murray: Teaching English Online and Connecting English Learners

27:34
http://www.teachingeslonline.com/resources-teaching-english-online ← Click here to get your free download about teaching English online. Joining Teaching ESL Online in this interview is Justin Murray of Real Life English. Real Life English is a hugely popular site for English learners wanting to connect and learn everyday English. In the interview, we learn how they got started, what their mission is, and the exciting things that they are working on right now. There's also a story of having a 120,000 strong Facebook group being deleted thrown in. Justin started by introducing Real Life English: "It's a global community of English learners and speakers dedicated to help people all around the world speak English through real life conversations, real people, real learning materials." I mentioned this a lot during the video, but RLE started through a party in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Justin, and his cofounder Chad, wanted to teach people English in a way that would help people to live English. And the blog started out of both of these things. For nearly two years now, they have been posting content (videos, podcasts, articles etc.) 4-5 times a week, and therefore, have a lot of content built up (in both English and Portuguese). One of their former cofounders started a podcast and a Twitter account. And talking about the podcast, Justin said: "If you keep doing something over and over again, you get better." We then talked about the Facebook group that they built to over 120,000 members. And then all of a sudden, Facebook deleted their group. At that time, they had a core Facebook group, and the majority of people within that group wrote to Facebook, but no one got a reply. "If you build your house on Facebook, they can always take it away from you." This is why it's so important to build your own blog and email list as this is something that you own. We then talked about Facebook, specifically organic reach (how many of your followers see your content when you post). Justin then went through the difference between a Facebook page (business page) and a Facebook group. Justin's former cofounder started their Twitter account and used different tactics to grow their following (currently at 70k), using tools such as Tweepi and Hootsuite to help them grow followers and schedule posts. They have a free ebook that they offer to grow their email following, and this email marketing has been a big part of their strategy nearly from the start. Justin and the team spend most of their time interacting with learners through their mailing list, and prioritize this. We talked about the different products they have sold; this started with an audio version of an ebook, their course Fluency Plus after talking with their audience, and a product that goes with their podcast. I've seen one of these lessons, and it's incredible how detailed and in-depth the lessons are. The RLE team are now in Chile in a startup incubator. They are now shifting their mindset to try and understand what learners really need, and they believe a big problem learners have is that they need to connect with others and use their English in a way that feels real.
