The Role of Arts & Culture in an Open Society

In this video, I start off going through all of the materials you're going to need for learning to sketch and draw. Once you have a better understanding of those, you can start drawing simple shapes and lines and practicing sketching with an HB, B, or 2B pencil. These are good pencils for sketching lightly but also allow you to go a little darker when needed for shading. I plan to cover perspective, values, edges, shading techniques, proportions, landscapes and many other topics of sketching and drawing for beginners and intermediate artists. • My Site: http://www.Brandon-Schaefer.com • Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/SchaeferArt • Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/SchaeferArt • Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SchaeferArt SchaeferArt ► http://www.youtube.com/user/SchaeferArt With this Channel, I explore a variety of concepts regarding learning to draw or how to draw almost any subject, learning to paint landscapes & still lifes in acrylic paint or oil paint, and many other topics involving art, painting, technical aspects, and life. #LearnToDraw #Sketching #LearnToSketch

Portrait Drawing Part 1 - Foundations - Drawing Proportional Construction Lines
Watch Part 2 - Drawing the Eyes and Nose (coming soon) In this lesson, we focus on the foundation which will lay beneath our drawing as we work forward into our portrait drawing unit. These lines and shapes are called construction lines. They are not intended to be part of a final drawing. Rather, they are intended to serve as a size and placement guide while continuing with our portrait drawing project. Here, we are simply learning the proportions of a human face. Foundation Funding for Arts Organizations
Wednesday, May 2, 2018; 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Private foundations award billions of dollars per year to charities and non-profits in Canada — money that you could easily miss out on if you aren't in the know. The BC Alliance for Arts + Culture partners with Grant Advance Solutions to host this free information session on foundation funding for arts organizations. The two-hour workshop will focus on the foundations that support arts organizations in BC, industry-standard document preparation (LOIs and Applications), establishing key funding partnerships, and the development of strategic annual grant funding campaigns. ABOUT THE FACILITATORS Grant Advance is a Canadian software designed to make every aspect of the funding application process easier. It shows you where to apply, how much you should ask for, and then provides automated assistance to prepare and merge all your documents for a seamless and simple solution to any of your grant funding needs. The team has consulted with executive directors, IT specialists, and fund development professionals to develop a solution that addresses the actual challenges that non-profits face. The result is a simple, affordable, and time-effective resource that can benefit organizations of any size.

Finally, Turnaround Arts would like to thank Jonathan Walls, Sandra Selva, Jose Agote, Mark Johnson, and everyone on the incredible Playing for Change team for going above and beyond with this project. Playing For Change is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. Our primary focus is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos we call Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated us to form the Playing For Change Band—a tangible, traveling representation of our mission, featuring musicians met along our journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation—a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to building music and art schools for children around the world. Through these efforts, we aim to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet.
