8 English Sentences: Find the Mistakes

08:16

Once you learn these easy grammar rules, you'll avoid making common mistakes and improve your marks on English essays and exams like IELTS, TOEFL, and TOEIC. To test if you really understand these rules, take the quiz. Good luck with your English! http://www.engvid.com/8-english-sentences-find-the-mistakes/ TRANSCRIPT Hi, my name's Rebecca. For the next few minutes, let's pretend you are the English teacher and you're correcting your student's homework. Let's look at some of these sentences and see if you can find some of the errors in these English sentences. Okay, the first sentence: "My mother she works in a bank." Is that okay? Well, let me tell you right now that actually none of these sentences are okay; there is a mistake in every sentence. So see if you can find the mistake. Okay? "My mother she works in a bank." What's the mistake? Okay... Here, "she", all right? I'm just going to grab a different marker. So what happened here is we said: "My mother she works in a bank." So we cannot repeat the subject. The mistake here is that we had a double subject; the subject was mentioned twice. In English, you can't do that. You just mention the subject once. So this sentence, in order to be correct, would need to be: "My mother works in a bank." Or: "She works in a bank." If you know who "she" is. Right? But you can't say both. So no double subjects. Number two: "John is an engineer" What's wrong with that? Look carefully. Well, what's wrong is that it's missing the punctuation. All right? Part of a correct sentence is correct punctuation. So here, there was no period at the end of the sentence, that's what was wrong. Next sentence: "The manager of my department" What's wrong with that? Well, what's wrong is that it's not a sentence because it doesn't have any verb, there's no verb there. Okay? And, of course, you need to continue this sentence, and then eventually you'd need to have some punctuation as well. But basically, there is no... This is a sentence fragment. This is called only a part of a sentence. It is not a complete English sentence or a correct English sentence. There is no verb. Missing verb. Next one: "we enjoy watching old movies." Okay? Again, look carefully. What's wrong there? Well, it has a subject, it has a verb, but this is the problem. The first letter in the first word of an English sentence has to be capitalized and that's what was missing here. You see, we didn't have that problem before. Okay. Next one: "I like very much Chinese food." Okay? Maybe that sounds okay to you, but doesn't sound okay to me. It's close, but not quite. What's wrong? Well, what's wrong here is this, the word order. Not only do you need to have certain elements, you need to have the words in the right order. So in English, the correct order for this sentence would be: "I like Chinese food very much." Okay? Not: "very much Chinese food." "I like Chinese food very much." Okay? Next: "Maria need help with her hw." "Maria need help with her homework." What's wrong there? Okay? So the mistake is here, the mistake is in subject-verb agreement. The verb has to agree with the subject. Right? And if we say: "Maria", it's like: "she", and we would have to say: "She needs". "Maria needs help with her hw." So the error here was in subject-verb agreement. Next one: "delivered the package yesterday" Okay? "delivered the package yesterday" What's wrong here? Well, it's similar to this one, except here, we had a sentence fragment and we had the subject. Here, we have a sentence fragment, and we have a verb, but we don't have a subject. We have a missing subject. So this is also a sentence fragment. "Fragment" means only part. It is not a complete sentence. Next one: "We recieved your letter." "We recieved your letter." Sounds fine, but if you're an English teacher, you're going to look really carefully at each of the words. And what's wrong is here, the mistake is here. It's a spelling mistake. Okay? The word "received" is one of those tricky words with the "e" and the "i", and the "i" and the "e" that you have to learn very well. So spelling mistakes will also bring down your marks. If you're doing the IELTS, if you're bring... Doing the TOEFL, any errors of this kind will bring your marks down. Okay? So even though they seem very basic, I know from experience that students make all of these mistakes. Be very careful not to make them. Let's look at what principles apply to correct English sentences. Okay? So, an English sentence must express a complete thought and it must express it with certain elements. Now, just because a sentence must express a complete thought, it doesn't have to have a lot of words; it doesn't have to be a very long sentence.

12 Mistakes You Make While Charging Your Phone

10:50
How to Prolong the Life of Your Battery. In case the battery of your favorite gadget can't keep up with the workload and dies too quickly you must be looking for ways how to make it last longer. people still keep doing all kinds of crazy stuff because they think it’ll extend their battery life, like throwing their phone in the freezer! We’re gonna get into this plus more common mistakes people make when it comes to charging their devices and what you can do instead to prolong your phone’s battery. It turns out you don’t really have to charge your phone to the max before using it for the first time. It’s safe to use your phone while it's charging and also okay to charge it overnight. TIMESTAMPS Charging your phone to the max before using it for the first time. 1:14 Not using your phone while it's charging. 2:15 Being afraid that chargers from a different brand will kill your battery. 3:00 Thinking that turning your phone off will damage the battery. 3:40 Trying to “train” your battery. 4:13 Not charging your phone overnight for fear of damaging the battery. 4:58 Putting the battery in the freezer to make it last longer. 5:36 Using task managers to prolong battery life. 6:09 Fearing to leave your phone charger plugged in. 6:40 Not charging laptops all the time to prevent damage. 7:21 Believing that the Internet runs your battery down the fastest. 7:55 Turning off Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi to prolong the battery life. 8:42 Tips to prolong the life of your battery: Keep batteries cool. 9:28 Store batteries with a bit of charge. 10:01 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -You’ll be perfectly fine if you just buy a phone, take it out of the box, and start using it right away. -It doesn't matter whether you’re using your phone while charging or not, it’ll still charge the same exact way. -If the charger works well enough, it won't harm your mobile device. So if you need to urgently charge your phone in an emergency or the factory charger it came with doesn't work anymore, you can get any cheap version that’s compatible with your smartphone. -If you simply shut your device off from time to time, nothing dramatic will happen. In fact, some devices may actually start working more effectively after you reboot them. -Feel free to charge your phone even if the battery is as full as 90%. Charging your phone frequently doesn't hurt the battery. -If you wanna extend your battery’s lifespan, keep it charged between 40 and 80%. Believe it or not, this actually helps the battery live the longest. -Freezing your phone does nothing more than kill the battery. The thing is that lithium-ion batteries react badly to both cold and heat. -The built-in system on your phone is already dealing with everything that should be done to keep your device’s performance in tip-top shape. As for third-party task managers, they’re actually more likely to decrease your phone’s performance. -It's perfectly safe to leave your charger plugged in unless you have a damaged charger, pets at home, or no lightning protection. -Experts recommend discharging your laptop to zero percent no more than once a month. -If you’re just surfing the Net or reading articles, it doesn’t influence your battery life any more than listening to music does. -Wi-Fi consumes even less energy than your smartphone needs to maintain the cellular data connection. -Avoid leaving your smartphone, tablet, or laptop in direct sunlight or in a hot car. And definitely don’t take your gadgets to a hot place, like the beach or sauna. -The problem with storing batteries is that they lose their charge over time. And when this charge drops to zero, your battery will automatically kill itself so that it doesn’t become unstable. 11 Rookie Workout Mistakes You Should Avoid

06:41
How to workout properly for beginners? Why do we go to the gym regularly and don’t get the desired results? We often make many mistakes in the gym during our workouts that stand in the way of being healthy. Did you know that doing exercises in a wrong way is even worse than doing nothing at all? In this video, we collected the 11 most common workout mistakes that you should avoid! Remember: the devil is in the detail. TIMESTAMPS Long cardio workouts 0:48 Low-calorie diet 1:24 Not sleeping enough 1:55 Sports drinks with electrolytes 2:17 Eating more 2:52 Working out on an empty stomach 3:17 Going to the sauna after a workout 3:50 Using a scale 4:11 Not hiring a fitness trainer 4:37 Not cooling down 5:12 Daily workouts 5:40 SUMMARY - The average duration of a cardio training should be around 30 minutes. Start small and gradually build your way up. This way you will know your limits and keep your heart safe. - To get the necessary fats, protein and carbohydrates for your body, eat more salmon and avocado. These products have enough fats, but they are healthy and non-destructive. - Not sleeping enough means lower physical performance and slower recovery. And when you feel tired, there is no point in going to the gym. - Many people think drinking water when exercising is wrong, but you are not one of them, right? Don’t torture yourself by not drinking any water. During a workout, your body actively loses a lot of fluids. - If you want to keep your weight in check or even decrease it, you have to eat right and stay away from empty calories. - If you don’t want to lose consciousness in the gym, eat 2 hours before exercising. 2 hours is enough for the body to digest the food to the point when you are already not feeling sleepy and not hungry yet. - A hot bath or a sauna can be very dangerous for your heart and blood vessels. So if you want to wash off the sweat, take a warm shower instead. - You can comfort yourself with this thought: muscles weigh more than fat. So, maybe the fat you wanted to burn turned into muscles? - Trainers are usually great motivators. Besides, their job is to develop a training program that fits your needs and your physical capacity. A professional trainer can make sure you do all exercises correctly and don’t harm yourself accidentally. - Don’t forget to take a few minutes to stretch after a workout. It will reduce the pain in the muscles and make your recovery much faster. - If you work out every day, you will feel exhausted, and your muscles won’t have enough time to recover. Ironically, daily workouts lead to the increase of cortisol in your body. Do you know any other workout mistakes that we should avoid in the gym? Share them in the comment section below! 6 Mistakes You Keep Doing at Trainings

09:00
Are you trying everything you possibly can to lose weight and get a toned body but aren’t seeing any results? Are you dieting and hitting the gym 5 times a week, but the pounds are still there? Without the proper knowledge, you might be following an exercise routine that keeps you stuck on your journey or worse. Do you know that warming up before exercising and stretching afterward are necessary components of any weight loss or toning routine? If you don’t warm up, you risk injuring your body. If that happens, you’ll definitely face a setback. A huge part of weight loss is the mental aspect. If your body doesn’t feel good, you won’t want to stick to your workout routine. Make sure you warm up and stretch to increase your chances of exercising in the long term. If you exercise and eat well but are regularly piling on the calories with energy drinks or energy bars, you could be reversing the benefits of your exercise. TIMESTAMPS: You don’t warm up 0:52 You only do steady cardio 2:04 Strength training? What is that? 3:25 You misunderstand soreness 4:35 You use light weights to tone up 5:55 There’s no variety in your exercise routine 7:15 #workout #mistakes #weight Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - Warming up before exercising and stretching afterward are necessary components of any weight loss or toning routine. - If your goal is to lose weight, many sources and tons of research show that instead of focusing on steady cardio, you should do HIIT workouts. HIIT stands for “high-intensity interval training.” - If your exercise routine only involves cardio, it’s time to fall in love with strength training! If you only do exercises that focus on cardio, it means that a lot of your muscles are not getting the attention they need. - If you wake up and find that you can’t get out of bed, then that’s too sore. It means you’re pushing your body too much all at once when you actually need to ease into the exercise you’re trying to accomplish. - Lifting heavy weights will increase your muscular strength and tone up your muscles. If your goal is weight loss, heavier weights and short reps are also the way to go. - If you focus purely on strength training or cardio, you won’t be able to reach the weight loss results you expect. A 5-Minute Japanese Massage to Tone Up Your Face Muscles

08:08
If you’re a girl, you probably have all kinds of masks, creams, and other facial care stuff that’s crowding your bathroom shelf. But did you know that you can effectively lift your face and improve your skin tone with nothing more than your own hands? The technique is called Korugi, and it’s a face massage that works wonders. You see, with age, the fat in your face redistributes itself, accumulating in some areas more than in others. Also, your facial muscles start to sag with time. These factors contribute to changes in how your face looks when you age. What Korugi massage does is tone your facial muscles and dissipate the fat under your skin. If you do, then Korugi isn’t for you. - Japanese and Korean adepts of this technique say that, if performed correctly, Korugi can even reshape your bone structure. - First of all, while pulling and pressing on your skin like this, you make the lymphatic fluid move, which removes any signs of swelling and puffiness from your face. That includes those dark circles and bags under your eyes too! - Good blood supply is necessary for that healthy, rose-cheeked look, and it also helps get the necessary vitamins and nutrients to your face. - Your skin becomes more elastic as it is pulled and filled with a healthy amount of lymph and blood. - Korugi massage helps reshape your face oval, making your features look sharper. This happens because, as you age, your skin starts sagging, making your face sort of blurred. - Don’t be surprised if your face starts aching the day after you’ve done the massage. That’s a common reaction of your muscles that haven’t seen any exercise for a while. 11 Secrets to Memorize Things Quicker Than Others

10:46
We learn things throughout our entire lives, but we still don’t know everything because we forget a lot of information. Bright Side will tell you about 11 simple memorizing tips that will help you remember everything and improve your memory. TIMESTAMPS Why we forget things 1:04 How to remember everything 2:00 How to memorize something quickly 2:30 How to memorize something for a long time 3:20 Try to understand what you learn 4:17 Learn the most necessary information 5:11 Serial position effect 5:45 Interference theory 6:06 Learn opposite things 7:22 Build your own «mind palace» 7:22 Use «nail words» 8:19 Make up stories 8:40 Use a tape recorder 9:10 Visualize 9:51 Choose only the best materials 9:59 SUMMARY - Your brain is like a hard drive — the space is limited. Remember Sherlock Holmes? He couldn’t name all the planets of the Solar system — this was not because he missed school or something like that, but because he was too smart to have such irrelevant information in his memory. He deliberately erased facts he would never need. This is what your brain does: it protects you from overloading with information. That’s why all new data is stored in the short-term memory, not the long-term one. So, if you don’t repeat it or use it, you forget it very quickly. A German psychologist, Hermann Ebbinghaus researched the memory and its mechanisms. He described the Forgetting Curve which shows that just one hour after learning something new we forget more than half of the learned information. One day later we remember only about 30% percent. Well, you see where this is going. - There is a memorization technique called «Spaced repetition». To keep some information in your head for a longer time, you need to try to put it into your long-term memory. Forced memorization is not very effective in this case because your brain can’t make sense of the information quickly and form strong associations. Here it all depends on the reason why you are learning something. - To memorize something quickly, repeat the information right after learning it. The second repetition should be after 15-20 minutes. You don’t need to return to the information between repetitions — just rest and do something different. Let your brain relax. Repeat the learned material the third time after 6-8 hours. And you should have the final repetition 24 hours after the first contact with the information. Do you know any other memorizing tips? If yes, share them in the comment section below! English Grammar - Prepositions to say where you live: AT, ON, IN

06:20
http://www.engvid.com/ Do you live ON Main St? AT Main St? IN Main St? Learn how to answer basic English questions about where you live with the right prepositions. I'll teach you how to use "in Los Angeles", "at Hill St", "on the 6th floor" and more. This is an important lesson for beginners and a great review for all levels. Take the quiz on this lesson here: http://www.engvid.com/english-grammar-prepositions-at-on-in/ TRANSCRIPT: Hi, my name is Rebecca from www.engvid.com. Sometimes the most basic questions can cause us confusion. Why? Because when you have a question like: "Where do you live?" you need to know which preposition to use to answer the question correctly. So let's look at the board so that you can learn to answer this question correctly and confidently. So, suppose you need to give your address, the actual number where you live, the number of the house, then you say: "I live at 35 Hill St." Okay? -"Where do you live?" -"I live at 35 Hill St." So when you're giving the number with the street name, remember to say: "at". If you're just asked: "Which street do you live on?" Then you can say: "I live on Hill St." So when you're only giving the name of the street, use the preposition: "on". Now, just for you to know and remember: there are many words which basically represent the word: "street". You could have something like: "Street, Road, Avenue, Drive, Boulevard". Okay? "I live on Hill St.", "I live on San Fernando Rd.", "I live on Fairfax Ave.", "I live on Riverside Dr.", "I live on Hollywood Blvd." Okay? I don't, but hypothetically. All right? Next, if you're asked: "Where do you live?" as in the city or the country, then you have to use a different proposition. Then you have to use the preposition: "in". So: "Where do you live?" -"I live in Los Angeles.", "I live in California.", "I live in the U.S." Okay? So if you're mentioning the city, the state or the country then you want to make sure you use: "in". So: "I live at 35 Hill St. I live on Hill St. I live in Los Angeles." Okay? "At", "on", "in". Here are a few other points that sometimes you need to mention some more detailed information. There also, you need to know which preposition to use. So: "I live at the intersection of Pine and Maple Streets." So you have two streets, and you live close by so you can say: "I live at the intersection of Pine and Maple Streets." Okay? Or if somebody asks you: "Which floor do you live on?" You can say: "I live on the 15th floor.", "I live on the 6th floor." All right? And last, you might also sometimes need to give this information and you can say: "I live in an apartment." If you're in England, you might say: "I live in a flat." You could also say: "I live in a house." All right? So these are the three basic prepositions: "at", "on", and "in" that you need to answer the fundamental question: "Where do you live?" Now, to review that, next I'll be giving you a little exercise so you can practice what you've learned. All right, so we have two people here, Lucas and Sarah and we're going to ask them: "Where do you live?" And you help me to figure... fill in the blanks and to know how to answer the question. "So Lucas, where do you live?" So he says: "I live in Miami." Okay? Next one is: "the 6th floor" so what does he say? "I live on the 6th floor." "Where do you live?" "92 Bird St." So what does he say? "I live at 92 Bird St." -"Where do you live?" -"I live in Florida." "Kendall Dr.": -"Where do you live?" -"I live on Kendall Dr." "Where do you live?" "An apt": "I live in an apt." Okay? Now we know all about Lucas. Let's go to Sarah. "Sarah, where do you live?" "65 Oxford St." So she says: "I live at 65 Oxford St." "Where do you live?" "London": "I live in London." "Regent St.": "I live on Regent St." "A rented flat": "I live in a rented flat." "The 10th floor": "I live on the 10th floor." And: "Where do you live?" She wants to answer: "England" so she says: "I live in England." All right? The only way to learn these is to practice them a lot. Put down information like this and try to see if you can put in the right answers. All right? If you want some more practice, you can also go to our website: www.engvid.com and there you'll have a chance to do a quiz on this topic. So good luck with your English. Thanks for watching.
English Grammar: The Prepositions ON, AT, IN, BY

12:31
English for Beginners: Prepositions are short words that help us express location, time, and other relationships between people and things. Some examples of prepositions are: on, at, in, and by. Do you know how to use them? For example, do we say, "I am on a taxi" or "in a taxi"? Do you like to travel "in a plane" or "by plane"? After watching this simple but useful lesson, you will know exactly which preposition to use in any situation. Test yourself with our quiz: http://www.engvid.com/english-grammar-the-prepositions-on-at-in-by/ TRANSCRIPT I'm having a hard time reading on the train right now. Unh. Hold on. I'll start the lesson. Hi. James from engVid. Sorry, I was on the train. I want to teach you a lesson about four basic prepositions that we use in English that sometimes get confused, and I understand why, so I'll keep it basic. But because it's basic, it's going to be 80% correct. That's a good thing, that means you can go to the website and learn more from other lessons we have. But just know that sometimes there'll be exceptions, and I may not cover it here today. I'll even give you two exceptions to help you, but why waste time? Let's go to the board. Here's Mr. E. You'll notice he has a calendar, he has a clock, and: "You are here"? Oh, here. "Here" is a location. We're here right now, doing a lesson. That's the location: engVid. Let's go to the board and do the rest of the lesson, shall we? Here's: "at", "on", "in", and "by". "At". I love it because it's very specific, so you always know where you are, exactly. Problem: For transportation, "at" doesn't have anything. Hmm. So let's go to the next one. Let's go to "on". On. "On" is used for, let's say, large vehicles or large ways of travelling, such as buses... Sorry. Trains, buses, planes, and boats. I'll come back to boat in a second; it's an exception. On the train, on the bus, and on the plane, unless you're Bill Gates, Donald Trump, or me-I'm not in that list-you don't have your own train, plane, or bus, so you usually share it with a bunch of people or a few people. It's large. So we say: "You're on the bus", because it covers a big area, so there are many people sitting in that area. When I get to location, you'll see what I mean. Boat is a small exception. For many people in the world, they have their own boats because maybe they do fishing, or rowing, which is a type of boat that you go by yourself. In that situation, you can use "in". So, if the boat is small enough, say: "in": "I'm in a boat right now." But if it's a big boat, you have to say: "I'm on a boat." Another exception for the "on" rule is bicycle. You're always "on" a bicycle. I know, I said big vehicles, but remember: a bicycle is small, and it doesn't really have a motor or an engine, so we kind of give it its own thing, because you have to sit on the bicycle, and you can never really be in a bicycle. Is that good? Now, let's go to "in". "In" is funny because there are only two things for "in". "In" we use for car and taxi. The easy way to think about it is usually you own your own car; it doesn't belong to a group of people. People just don't get on your car every time you stop it, they go in and say: "Take me somewhere." And a taxi, well, when you're in a taxi, it is kind of your car. You pay the driver and you keep the car. So, this is one of those few cases where, because it belongs to me, I am in my car or I am in the taxi, because the taxi belongs to me as long as I pay the money. It's one of these funny exceptions. I don't know why, because you can put more people in a car, but I guess because you can actually own this transportation, it's yours. Think of it like the small boat. The small boat, one person is in it, you can be inside of it. All right? Cool. The last one we're going to do is "by". This is how you get there. So, "by" is different. When we talk about "in" and "on", you are... We are talking about how you are in the vehicle. Are you sitting on the bicycle? I can see you on it? You know, a boat is on water. But "by" just means: How did you get here? So, when someone responds to you with: "By car", "by plane", they're telling you how they got here. Not if they're in the plane, or on the plane. They are just... That's how they got there. So, how did I get here to do this video? Wouldn't you like to know. I'm kidding. I came here by car. So, yes, I was in my car and drove here, but I would tell somebody: "I got here by car, not by bus", and that would tell them the difference in the transportation I took. "How did you get here?" You like that? Good, so that's "by", this is how you did it; and the way you travelled is here, "in" and "on". Remember there is a small exception for small vehicles, so a small boat you can be in. Remember small. And a bicycle, you're always on the bicycle, because people see you sitting on it. We good? Excellent. Now, that is the lesson for transportation.

7 Easy Exercises to Get 11 Line Abs in a Month

09:10
Have you ever thought why there are so many tutorials on how to get a perfect six-pack for guys but so few for girls to achieve those 11 abs? How about setting the record straight right this moment with a super effective workout? It’s going to give you incredible results in just a month! But what’s the deal with this 11 abs thing? In fact, it’s just like a six-pack, only without the actual six-pack. While men are striving to get those iron-hard cubes on their stomachs, ladies are generally keener on slim and toned bellies. Where does number 11 come from, you ask? It’s from the vertical lines along the waistline that make your tummy so feminine and attractive. To tone those muscles right, though, you have to train as hard as you would for a six-pack. Other videos you might like: 10 At-Home Exercises to Get Rid of Belly Fat In a Month https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pitmJNYUz8& 8 Effective Exercises to Get a Flat Belly in Just 30 Days https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqHIiK9dpNs 15 Yoga Poses That'll Make Your Stomach Flat https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rv7-obkdiTs TIMESTAMPS: Plank 0:59 Bridge with folded legs 1:56 Side plank 3:02 Bridge with straight legs 3:43 Leg lifts 4:37 Bicycle crunches 5:47 Russian twists 6:49 #bellyfat #perfectabs #flatbelly Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - If you’re itching for beautiful abs, plank is just about perfect. It activates your entire core, and if you do it right, your abdominal muscles get a lot of tension. - Bridge with folded legs isn’t that hard, but it’s really useful if you’re about to get those 11 abs. At the same time, it also targets your core and glutes as a pleasant bonus. - Side plank is also necessary for beautiful abs because, unlike the classic plank, it also targets your obliques more specifically. Those are what shapes your waistline, so don’t waste them! - Bridge with straight legs is rather different and cool, though. It also engages your core, but it’s more about your obliques than anything else. - The first four exercises were pretty much focused on your core and stability, and now we move on to targeting particular muscles that will give you the abs of your dreams. Leg lifts are the first of the series: they engage your lower abs, core, and legs (obviously). - No abs workout should exclude bicycle crunches if you’re aiming at that perfect shape. They target your obliques and make them burn like nothing else, so it’s an absolute must for us today. - Russian twists is by far the hardest exercise in this routine, but it’s also the last, so wipe your sweat and rejoice! Russian twists also hit your obliques, which are, as you might’ve guessed, the most crucial part of those 11 abs. Usually, all I get is generic tips such as "dont grow too fast" but there are no concrete case studies. But when it comes to successful stories, there are specific examples we can learn from. I was thinking if maybe you can have videos/articles analysing and explaining how some real businesses failed, especially start ups. It would be great if you can use your influence to encourage entrepreneurs who have failed to share their stories with you. They say that such girls seem to hide a secret. - - Most men can’t help but pay attention to a woman wearing red lipstick. At the same time, pink colors are almost as good. - A lot of men think that smoky eyes are smoking hot on a girl. However, natural makeup that looks as if you aren't wearing any cosmetics at all is almost as alluring. - Men are sure that women's tank tops are some of the best things invented by humanity. First of all, they show off your shoulders and arms. - It probably won't surprise you if I say that men are crazy about high heels and elegant shoes! On the other hand, some men find sneakers even more appealing on a woman than stilettos! - Men do like it when a woman has a small, feminine handbag. However, they aren't opposed to sporty backpacks if a girl is dressed in the same style. - It's probably no big revelation that men love a woman in stockings. A much more surprising fact is that they might like high socks even more! - Surprisingly, men love a good old baseball cap on a girl a little bit more than a stylish fedora hat. - If you have 0 to 30 points, men think you're lovely. They are happy to be with you and spend time together. But if you want to attract more attention, try something you've never done before! - If you have 35 to 65 points, men find you beautiful. They think highly of your style and manner. You know how to dress up when necessary, but you always try to choose your style according to the situation. - If you have 70 to 100 points, men think you're smoking hot! You turn heads wherever you go and don't feel a lack of male attention. On the other hand, it might be useful to tone it down a bit every now and then. A Plane Lost One Wing So a Pilot Decided to Do This

09:15
It was a regular training day for the Israeli Air Force. Several combat jets were up in the air, simulating an aerial fight. One of those jets was an F-15 Eagle that already had some history and even got a nickname — Markia Schakim, which means “Sky Blazer” in Hebrew. Piloting the jet was a new member of the Air Force, Zivi Nedivi, and behind him sat his instructor and navigator, Yehoar Gal, an experienced pilot himself. The training exercise they were performing wasn’t anything out of the ordinary drill: two F-15s were to get away from four A-4 Skyhawks in the open sky over the desert. If everything went according to plan and instructions, no danger would come to any pilots or aircraft. At least that’s what everyone believed... It was an impressive sight, and the young pilot was doing spectacularly well. - One of the Skyhawk pilots saw an opportunity to attack an Eagle with a missile and tried to zero in on his target. What he didn’t see was that the other F-15, piloted by Nedivi, was right above him. - At this point, both the pilot and his instructor should have ejected, leaving the aircraft to fall but saving their lives. Neither did, though. - The jet had lost control and was going down at a 30-degree angle to the ground, making crazy twists and spirals. - The pilot and his instructor had very bad visuals and, looking around them, they couldn’t see that their right wing was torn at the root. - Nedivi really managed to get the controls back and leveled the jet. It was now time to wholly evaluate the situation and the condition of the Eagle. - As he approached the airfield, Nedivi requested the ground crew to deploy the safety net and catch the F-15 if necessary. - The eyewitnesses say they didn’t believe what they were seeing: a one-winged fighter Eagle was speeding like a bullet along the landing strip, its tail hook torn out by the sheer force of the tug… and then it miraculously stopped just 35 ft before the safety net. - Its fuselage, the remaining wing, and the stabilizers at the rear helped the Eagle generate lift and stay under control. - The amazing Eagle was fully repaired afterwards and served in the Air Force for several more years. - As for the pilot, Zivi Nadivi, he remained in the Air Force too, of course. And his story after the incident is a bit amusing: first, he was demoted for disobeying orders from his instructor; and then he was immediately promoted for landing the aircraft and thus saving it. I Decided to Sleep for 4 Hours a Day, See What Happened

12:29
One of the Bright Side writers decided to adjust his daily routine to leave only 2-4 hours for sleep! Do you ever think about how cool it would be if there were more hours in a day? You would easily have time for everything: work, hobbies, friends, and family or just lazing around doing nothing at all. But enough dreaming, let's get back to reality. The only way to make it happen is by sleeping less, but would that actually work without turning you into a tired grouch? TIMESTAMPS Where did the idea come from? 0:50 Day 1 2:48 Day 2 3:20 Day 3 3:46 Day 4 4:15 Day 5 4:55 Days 6-7 5:41 Days 8-10 6:20 Days 11-14 6:55 Pros of polyphasic sleep 7:30 Cons of polyphasic sleep 8:46 My thoughts after the experiment 9:48 SUMMARY If your life is like one big to-do list that you just can't seem to keep up with, then polyphasic sleep is probably for you. All jokes aside, I definitely became more productive, and I have a lot of spare time that allows me to do everything I want and even more. On the other hand, it can be difficult since the whole world is on a completely different regimen. Your friends and family might think it’s weird when you tell them you can't go out with them or ask them to pause a movie so you can take a nap. In any case, it's your choice to make. Just do your homework first, and then go for it! If this sort of dramatic change isn’t for you, don't worry! There are still lots of things you can do to improve your productivity. Tell Me Your Name, And I’ll Reveal Your True Soul Mate

13:03
Do you wanna know who will be the love of your life? We're definitely all curious in that way! But what if we said that you could find out a lot about your future life partner just through your name? Sounds intriguing, right? So grab a pen and a piece of paper because it's test time! TIMESTAMPS: Question #1 Why did your parents choose the name you have now? 1:08 Question #2: How long is your name? 2:08 Question #3: What is it the first letter of your name? 2:51 Question #4: Is your name popular? 3:46 Question #5: Do you have a nickname? 4:29 Question #6: How do you feel about performing? 5:26 Question #7: How good was you at math? 6:15 Question #8: How do you usually feel when you're watching a highly emotional movie? 6:56 Question #9: What's the most important thing in a relationship for you? 8:01 Question #10: Have you ever been heartbroken? 8:42 #relationship #soulmate #nametest Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music?feature=blog SUMMARY: - If you scored 10–17 points, you're pretty practical and reserved. You're independent to a fault and can do anything you put your mind to. Even though you aren't really looking for anything serious, you still wouldn't mind a partner who's as strong and responsible as you are but who can add a bit of spontaneity to your life at the same time. - If you got 18–26 points, you're probably a perfectionist. You like things done in a certain way and order. And your love life is the same: you know what works for you and what doesn't. All you need is someone who matches the image of the perfect man or woman in your head, someone as determined, calm, and idealistic as you are. - 27–35 points suggests that you’re a kind and social butterfly. Your perfect man or woman should be as laid-back as you are, someone who is witty, funny, and ready to explore the world with you. - If you got 36–44 points, your love life is definitely very important to you. You know how much time and effort relationships consume, and you're willing to do everything necessary for someone who's worth it. The Constitution, the Articles, and Federalism: Crash Course US History #8

13:04
In which John Green teaches you about the United States Constitution. During and after the American Revolutionary War, the government of the new country operated under the Articles of Confederation. While these Articles got the young nation through its war with England, they weren't of much use when it came to running a country. So, the founding fathers decided try their hand at nation-building, and they created the Constitution of the United States, which you may remember as the one that says We The People at the top. John will tell you how the convention came together, some of the compromises that had to be made to pass this thing, and why it's very lucky that the framers installed a somewhat reasonable process for making changes to the thing. You'll learn about Shays' Rebellion, the Federalist Papers, the elite vs rabble dynamic of the houses of congress, and start to find out just what an anti-federalist is. Prepositions - ( on, in, at ) in relation to time. - Free English & Grammar Lessons What are prepositions? Prepositions are short words (on, in, at) that usually stand in front of nouns (sometimes also in front of gerund verbs). Even advanced learners of English find prepositions difficult, as a one to one translation is usually not possible. One preposition in your native language might have several translations depending on the situation. There are hardly any rules as to when to use which preposition. The only way to learn prepositions is looking them up while reading a lot in English and learning useful phrases off by heart . In this lesson Rachna brings out some prepositions rules ( in, on, at ) in relation to time.
3 Exercises to Tone Up Your Legs According to Your Leg Shape

09:09
Everybody tends to think that perfectly toned legs take months of hardcore exercising. Good news, folks - all you actually need is to know your leg shape, do 3 exercises specifically catered to it, and you’re all set! There are four main leg shapes: bow-legged, knock-kneed, false curvature, and normal. To figure out which one of them is yours, stand straight with your feet together, and look in the mirror to see where your legs touch. Don’t forget to pay attention to your thighs, knees, calves, and ankles. The main goal for this leg type is to pull the knees closer by strengthening the muscles and then stretch the muscles to pull the knees out. - Pistol squats are basically one-leg squats. These guys give a great workout to tons of your leg muscles, including your hamstrings, gluteus maximus, calves, and the insides of your thighs. - Figure 4 stretch is kinda crazy but it’s unbelievably effective for a bow-legged shape. It mainly targets your hip’s internal rotators, improving the flexibility of your hip muscles. - Toe touching is really quick and easy - you can do it anywhere, anytime, no special equipment necessary. It mainly focuses on stretching your hamstrings and outer thighs. - When you stand still, are your thighs close to each other but your shins don't touch at all? Then you have knock-kneed legs or, as they are often called X-shaped legs. - Side lunges is one of the most popular leg exercises, and it’s perfect for knock-kneed legs. Side lunges target your inner and outer thighs as well as your hips, making your legs nice and slim. - Knock-kneed leg shape basically suggests that you lack hip strength, and the lying hip abduction exercise takes care of it. It makes your outer thighs and hips work, balancing everything out. - Side step-ups is another exercise to get the outer thighs made of steel! Moreover, this type of step-up can effortlessly improve your balance and protect your lower back. - If your knees touch but your lower legs actually go outward and look way too skinny, you’re probably in the false curvature group. - Heel raises are the easiest exercise you can think of - just stand straight and raise up on your tip-toes at least 10 times. This simple movement significantly increases your calf strength, gradually changing your leg shape. - Walking, and especially running stairs is a great cardio workout. It makes your glutes, calves, and hamstrings way stronger, toning up your legs. - The biggest advantage of deep knee bends is that it causes your muscles to contract. This process boosts your blood flow and doubles your results, while also preventing strains. - And finally, if your legs touch each other at the upper thighs, knees, calves, and ankles and have only one tiny gap from the ankles all the way up to the middle of the calves, you fall into the normal leg shape category. - Squats are probably the most effective leg exercise ever created! They cover multiple crucial muscle groups, including hamstrings, calves, abs, and glutes. - Glute bridges mainly work on your abs (cool!), your hamstrings (even better), and your glutes (obviously). - Walking lunges don’t just target a couple of muscle groups like most exercises do - it works your entire leg! Your thigh muscles count as well, so it's basically the most symmetrical leg toning you can get. TIMESTAMPS Mangalitsa Pig, a.k.a. “a pig in sheep’s clothing” 0:50 Rhinopithecus or golden snub-nosed monkey 1:33 Emperor tamarin 2:13 Patagonian Mara 3:04 Fluffy cow 3:52 Markhor Goat 4:44 Raccoon dog 5:23 Blue Footed Booby 6:25 Malayan Colugo 7:13 Venezuelan Poodle Moth 8:09 BONUS 8:56 SUMMARY - The birthplace of this curly-haired pig is Hungary where it was discovered in the mid-19th century. Due to the fleece covering this animal, it resembles a sheep, therefore, such a name! - The name of this species is roxellana, and there is a story behind it. It is believed that they were called this way after the supposedly snub-nosed courtesan of Suleiman the Magnificent (a 16th century Sultan of the Ottoman Empire). - They were called like this because of the resemblance of their mustache to that of German Emperor Wilhelm II. - Patagonia Mara is the fourth largest rodent on our planet. There are several interesting facts about them. Females often put offsprings into crèches for safety. - Fluffy cows are looked after by people whose work is to wash, dry and use products to style these animals, so they look as fluffy as they do! It is necessary to maintain them daily, and it will take months of regular grooming until they get this lovely look of kids toys. - If you see a creature which looks as if it’s trying to catch an alien radio signal from space, it’s most likely Markhor Goat. Despite having raccoon-like markings on their fur, they are not very closely related to the North American raccoon. - Blue Footed Booby are to catch your eye if you ever visit the Galapagos Islands. They can look a bit clumsy and comical on land, but they are excellent at flying and swimming. - Colugo has a large gliding membrane (like a flying squirrel), and they can glide for long distances between trees standing far apart. - Even if the Poodle Moth may look as if it lives in Antarctica with all this fur, in fact, it comes from Venezuela, a tropical country. Its hairs don’t serve for heating. BONUS Cloud Antelope! This species lives in the clouds (that’s why such a name)! Its bright blue fur is the reflection of cloudless blue skies in the area of its habitat. Its diet consists of sun rays and candies... How to write a good essay: Paraphrasing the question

14:39
Do you sometimes struggle to begin writing an essay when taking an exam? Good news! There is an important writing skill that will help you improve your essay introductions. This technique is called "paraphrasing", and it means rewriting something using different words. In this lesson, I will teach you how to paraphrase successfully and how to change essay questions into your own words. These skills are very useful for university and high school students, as well as any students writing English proficiency exams like the TOEFL or IELTS. TAKE THE QUIZ: http://www.engvid.com/how-to-write-a-good-essay-paraphrasing-the-question/ WATCH NEXT: Essay Writing – 6 ways to compare: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8WSzwBD7GQ TRANSCRIPT Hi, there. My name is Emma, and in today's video I'm going to teach you something very important for if you're taking any type of test that has a writing component. So, if you are taking the IELTS, the TOEFL, the CELPIP, even just a university test, it can be any type of test, but if you're asked to write something like an essay or a paragraph, this video is for you. Okay? So I'm going to teach you a very important skill that will help improve your marks when it comes to writing on tests. So, let's get started. So, I have here an essay question. This question is actually... I've seen it on the IELTS. You know, you have similar types of questions on the TOEFL, sometimes in university. The question is this: "Education is the single most important factor in the development of a country. Do you agree or disagree?" Or maybe: "To what extent do you agree or disagree?" So, this is an example of a question you might be asked. Now, a problem a lot of students have is in their answer to this question. They see this, and they think: "Okay, education is the most important factor in the development of a country, yes, I agree." So then they... Or: "I disagree", and they start writing. And what do they write? Usually the very first thing students will write is this: "I agree that education is the single most important factor in the development of a country because..." So, what is the problem with this? Is there any problem to start off your essay with something like this, or to start off your answer? There's a big problem. So I want you to take a moment and think: "What could be the problem with starting your essay off with this sentence?" Okay, well, if you noticed, you have here the word: "education, education, is, is, the single most important, most important factor". If you notice, these are the same. They're the exact same, except for: "I agree that" and "because". The student, here, has used the exact same wording that is in the question. So, if you do this on the IELTS-and many students do this, same with on the TOEFL-you actually will lose marks, and same with in university, because you're not showing your abilities; you're just copying what somebody else has said or what the essay question is. So, in this video, I'm going to show you first off... First off, I'm going to tell you: Don't do this, don't copy. And I'm going to teach you ways in order to improve yourself and your answer by changing this wording. How can you change your introduction so it's different than what the question is? Okay? So, let's look at how to make these changes. Okay, so what we are going to do in order to change the question into a proper answer that doesn't just copy the question, is we are going to paraphrase. So, the word here is: "paraphrase". This might be a new word for you. What does it mean to paraphrase something? Well, when we paraphrase, it means we take a sentence that, you know... We take somebody else's sentence and we change it into our own words. Okay? So, we change the words of a sentence, we also change maybe the sentence structure, but we keep all the same meaning. Okay? So, the meaning from the sentence you copy, it stays the same, same meaning, but different words and different sentence structure. Okay? So it's in your words, but this other person's meaning. So, we are going to paraphrase this example of a question into our own words. So, first we're going to look at how to do that using vocabulary and synonyms. So, we have here the same question: "Education is the single most important factor in the development of a country." How can we put this into new words or our own words that keep the same meaning? Well, we can use synonyms. So, this might be a new word for you, too. A "synonym". "Synonyms" are words that have the same meaning, but are different words.

Scientists Reveal 13 Signs of Exceptional Intelligence

10:42
How to understand you are smart? How to become a genius? Here are 13 traits of intelligent people that will help you recognize them without any tests. We usually take IQ tests to measure a person’s mental abilities, but as it’s not always necessary. It’s hard to argue with the fact that some of us are smarter than others (yes, there are so FEW of us). It might be offensive, but it is what it is, and there is no denying it. We usually take IQ tests to measure a person’s mental abilities, but as it turns out, it’s not always necessary! What does it mean if you are a messy person? Can someone lazy be smart? We've got 13 traits of intelligent people that will help you recognize them without any tests. You can use these signs for self-analysis! TIMESTAMPS Smart people love cats 0:51 Smart people easily adapt 1:42 You sense when you are being lied to 2:03 You are self-sufficient 2:38 Sometimes you are messy 3:25 You don’t lie to yourself 4:22 You can hold your emotions when it’s necessary 4:58 You always make plans 5:37 You like being lazy sometimes 6:16 You don’t get stuck in the past 7:23 You make mistakes 7:52 You don't prove anything to anyone 8:24 You know what finger ration means 9:22 SUMMARY - Scientists really think that so-called cat-people are smarter than those who prefer dogs. It has been proved in a US study. - Intelligent people adapt to the changing environment easier than less intelligent. They either change their opinions or the environment itself. - Smart people are believed to understand other people’s intentions, motivation, and wishes much better. Think about the smartest friend you have — is it easy to get him or her to do something that you want? - Of course, intelligent people have partners — they love being together with other people. However, they don’t let their entire lives revolve around their boyfriends or girlfriends. Smart people can live just okay on their own. - Intelligent people are messier than less intelligent ones. Scientists think that this is because a person’s mind is busy with more important things. Smart people know that paying too much attention to such insignificant things is stupid. - Smart people don’t lie to themselves just because they can’t do that. They are unable to convince themselves of something that they know is not true. - Intelligent people don’t like showing their true emotions because they can be used against them. In an argument, it’s much better to conceal what you really feel, this way you will have a winning position. - Smart people use their time wisely. That’s why they don’t rely on improvisation. They analyze the situation and evaluate all possible options. - Research that was conducted by a team of scientists from Florida Gulf Coast University suggests that lazing around might be a sign of high intelligence. - Intelligent people value their experience and memories, but they realize that there is no point getting fixated on what has been said and done. They dream and plan their future while living in the present moment. - You can never move on if you keep regretting the mistakes you’ve done in the past. The best thing you do about the mistakes is learning from them and avoid repeating them. - Intelligent people don’t push their smartness on anyone. They know that it doesn’t matter if anyone knows they are smart or not. - There might be a connection between the index finger and the ring finger ration and your mental abilities. Knowing what ration even means already makes you smarter that many people, but still: the ration between the index finger and the ring finger can be calculated by dividing their lengths. Common Sense Test That 90% of People Fail

09:49
Easy but fun personality test. It looks like common sense isn’t so common because according to research, 90% of adults get these questions wrong. Yet kids do just fine. That’s because grown-ups overcomplicate things while children use their common sense and don't overthink. So follow their lead and let's start! 1. Which word would you use if you needed to describe a person who doesn't have all their fingers on one hand? 2. If a plane crashes right on the border between Canada and the United States, where should they bury the survivors? 3. Imagine that you’ve just entered a pitch black room. There’s an oil lamp, a newspaper, and some kindling wood inside the room, but you have only one match. You have to make a tough choice: what will you light first? 4. Mrs. Browny, despite her name, loves the color pink. Her bungalow is decorated entirely in the bubblegum color: pink carpet, furniture, curtains, even the walls are pink. So what color do you imagine the stairs are? 5. 5. One day a man got caught in the pouring rain. Unfortunately, he had no umbrella or hat or anything else he could use to stay dry. The Truth About the Titanic Has Been Revealed

11:03
Recent findings reveal the truth that has been buried for over one hundred years. Scientists have debunked the theory that the cause of the Titanic sinking was an iceberg. Why did Titanic sink? What's the real cause of the Titanic crash? HOW TITANIC SANK On April 14th, 1912 at 11:40 p.m. RMS Titanic had a terrible accident that led to its ultimate demise 3 hours later. By 2:20 a.m. in the early morning of April 15th, the biggest ship of its time had completely disappeared under the ice-cold surface of the Atlantic Ocean. The Titanic took more than 1,500 lives with it as it sank to its watery grave. TITANIC MYSTERY The cause of this horrible disaster leading to so many deaths was an iceberg the ship crashed into. Or so we’ve always been told... But scientists’ most recent findings have debunked this theory. In this video, we’ll tell you the whole truth that has been buried for over one hundred years. TIMESTAMPS How Titanic sank 0:08 How Titanic was made 1:00 The real cause of the catastrophe 3:04 The interior of the Titanic 5:10 Another tragic coincidence 6:20 Another criminal negligence: the lifeboats 7:23 Some people also blame Captain Smith 8:25 HOW TITANIC WAS MADE The Titanic had 4 massive smokestacks. Each of them weighed 60 tons, and they extended 81.5 feet above the deck. Such an impressive height was necessary to avoid covering the passengers in 100 tons of soot blown off daily. The smokestacks were placed at a 30° angle to look even more astonishing and imposing. No less awe-inspiring was the cost of the ship. Its construction demanded $7,500,000. If we take into account modern exchange rates and inflation, in 2016 they would be paying $166,000,000. Surprisingly, it would turn out cheaper than the production of the world-famous movie Titanic in 1997, which cost $200,000,000! Criminal negligence, tragic and unfortunate chain of coincidences, fire or ice: whatever it was, it took the lives of hundreds of people and still keeps the minds of scientists busy to this day. 15 Mistakes That Shorten the Life of Your Phone

09:07
How to charge the battery correctly? Why do the phone batteries decrease so quickly? We have 15 amazing tips that will make your smartphone live a longer life! Nowadays one can hardly imagine life without a cell phone. And it happens quite often that our gadgets start to act up just half a year after we bought them. It is frustrating, but in most cases, we ourselves are to blame! Let’s face it — we don’t always handle our devices properly. TIMESTAMPS Recharge your battery more often 0:45 Don’t keep the battery charging all the time 1:24 Don’t buy cheap chargers 2:01 Be careful with «ultrafast» chargers 2:28 Remove your protective case 2:49 Drain your battery from time to time 3:10 Avoid high temperatures 3:29 Avoid cold temperatures 4:02 Avoid bright wallpaper and adjust screen brightness 4:34 Watch out for voltage fluctuations 5:19 Clean the ports and wipe the display 5:45 Keep the phone far from water 6:40 Handle your phone carefully 7:15 Avoid software updates 7:42 Use cloud storage 8:29 SUMMARY - To increase your gadget’s battery life, you should recharge it more often. The best option is to do it each time the battery power indicator drops to 10-20%. This will increase the number of discharge cycles up to 1000-1100 cycles. - An inbuilt controller stops the battery from taking more current than necessary, so there is absolutely no risk of overcharging the battery and destroying it. - There have been situations when a person was using a non-native charger, and it caused a fire in the house! And another terrible thing that can happen if you use non-native chargers and cables is getting an electric shock. - We recommend you to avoid using chargers that claim to charge your battery fully in less than an hour. - If your smartphone has a bulky protective case, it might cause the device and its battery to overheat during a lengthy recharging session. - It is recommended to discharge your phone’s battery every three months to 0% and then immediately charge it to 100% to get rid of the extremes of full charge/discharge. - A high temperature is the worst thing you can imagine for lithium-ion batteries: they totally can’t stand overheating. - Carry the phone in an inner pocket of your coat or an outer pocket but encased in a protective covering. Low temperatures are harmful to the battery because it needs more power to keep itself warm enough to function. - Try to lower the brightness of your screen at least by 30-40%. - At the approach of a thunderstorm, never charge your phone. Actually, the same goes for all the electrical appliances you have. - To wipe the screen, use lint-free wipers and whatever you do, never use window cleaning liquids. They contain ammonia which can damage the screen irrevocably. - If you drop your cell phone into a pool or a sink, the first thing you should do after you get it out is turn it off and remove the battery (if it’s possible, of course). - Don’t put your cell phone on the dashboard when driving. Constant moving and bumping can cause a lot of damage. - Read user reviews before you hit the update button. The problem with such updates is that it’s either very hard or impossible to go back to the previous version of the software. - Even if you have a lot of free space on your hard drive, it’s better to use cloud storage anyway. This way your phone won’t be clogged with too much data so that it will perform much better. 10 Superpowers You Had When You Were a Baby

10:02
10 Unique Superpowers Kids Are All Born With. Only babies have the following superpowers, and we are sure you will want to have some of them yourself! If you or your close friends or family have babies, you already know how amazing they are. Everything they do, especially when it’s for the first time, is a reason for admiration and celebration. First word? “Let’s get the camera so we can record it!” It gets even better when they learn to crawl, sit and stand and walk! Some people, however, are a bit skeptical about babies’ talents and abilities. How dare they! We have proof that babies have unique and surprising superpowers. More than that, we are sure you will want to have some of them yourself. Sadly, you can’t. TIMESTAMPS Babies don’t cry. 1:08 They feel great underwater. 2:11 They swallow and breathe at the same time. 3:06 If necessary, babies can sneeze continuously. 3:42 They fall asleep easily. 4:41 They have a natural accent. 5:29 Newborns know how to crawl. 6:23 Babies are very flexible. 7:04 Their hairstyle may change drastically. 7:30 A baby can triple its weight and not get fat. 8:40 SUMMARY - In the first year of their life, babies are developing rapidly. During this period, the weight of a baby may triple. However, the child’s constitution is not affected in any way because it grows very quickly. From birth to 6-months age babies normally grow 1/2 to 1 inch and gain 5 to 7 ounces a week. So, they often double their weight by the time they are five months old. In between 6 and 12 months of age, babies might grow 3/8 inch a month and gain 3 to 5 ounces a week. So, they normally triple their weight by their first anniversary. - Scientists have found out that babies cry with a national accent. Researchers have recorded cries of 60 babies born in German or French families and found they have the same melody as in their native language by the second day of life! They get it in the womb when hearing their mother’s voice. - According to scientists, infants are attracted by the smell of milk, which lures them. Some experts believe birth attendants should give Mom and baby at least an hour to bond and feed before they take care of the baby. This will give him a chance to follow the natural instinct and crawl to his mother’s breast and feed as nature has planned it. - The skeleton of a baby has about 300 bones. With age, many of them grow and coalesce into a single whole. So, a grown adult has 206 bones. But before the bones are connected, the body of a newborn is extremely flexible. - The skeleton of a baby has about 300 bones. 14 Dressing Rules Everyone Should Learn Once and for All

04:35
How to choose clothes that suit you? “Dress shabbily, and they remember the dress; dress impeccably, and they remember the woman,” Coco Chanel said. It’s hard to disagree with her because clothes are a very important part of our image. Any flaw can be noticed — especially when you are going to meet someone for the first time. Bright Side has collected the most basic rules that will help you to look perfect all the time. TIMESTAMPS A jacket 0:11 A shirt or blouse 0:40 Bijouterie 1:00 How to tie a tie 1:19 A dress 1:38 A men shirt 1:58 A women shirt 2:11 A belt 2:33 A cardigan 2:47 How to wear a belt 3:03 Tags on clothes 3:21 Prints 3:36 A blouse 3:52 Socks 4:07 SUMMARY The middle button on a jacket should always be closed. When you are wearing a shirt or a blouse, you can unbutton no more than 2 buttons. Wear earrings that match your bracelet and a necklace that goes well with your ring. The tip of your tie should reach your waist and cross it just a little. Opt for either a miniskirt or cleavage. Both at once look too vulgar. If you are wearing a shirt without a jacket, you don’t need a tie. Your office shirt cleavage should not be deeper than 4″ from your collarbone. If you tucked in your shirt, you should wear a belt. Your naked skin should not be seen between your cardigan and your jeans. Wear a top if necessary. Your belt should be the same color as your shoes. All visible tags on clothes should be cut off. Don’t wear too many prints. Your socks should be long enough that your naked legs aren’t seen when you are sitting. An office blouse without sleeves should cover your shoulders. Share these tips with a friend of yours who is going to an important job interview or a coworker who is having trouble choosing a tie. Make the world around you a little better! Thieves Ran Away from Stolen U-Haul Because They Thought It Would Curse Them

05:04
Albuquerque has struggled with crime for many years. In 2015, there were over 22,000 thefts and close to 6,000 burglaries. The people who live in Albuquerque know about the crime, and they take the necessary precautions. Unfortunately, those who are just visiting or just passing through don't know about the crime, and they often become victims. In September 2017, a crime took place, but it went terribly wrong. Three men, Daniel Gonzales, Anthony Serna, and Jeremy Soliz were in desperate need of money, quickly. The men didn't plan to get the money that they needed by working hard. Instead, they were going to get it by breaking the law. Daniel was the one who needed the money the most. He had just been arrested. He needed money for a lawyer and to cover his court expenses. He needed to commit a crime that would bring in at least a few thousand dollars. The first thing that the three thieves needed was a getaway car. They found a red pickup truck, and since the three men were career criminals, they had no problem stealing the truck. After getting it in a garage, they checked out the engine. They wanted to make sure that their getaway would be able to help them get away. Now that they had the truck, they had to figure out what they were going to steal. The three men wanted to find a crime that would bring in the most money. Jeremy suggested that they hit a used car dealership located at the edge of town. He even brought the others a map so that he could show them all of the potential escape options. When Jeremy showed everyone his plan, He demonstrated how there was very little security in the area, and there were plenty of possible escape options. Anthony thought that it was a great idea, but Daniel wasn't so sure. He said that it wasn't much money and if they were caught, it would be his 18th arrest. He was going to need plenty of money if he was going to pay for his bail. Anthony still liked the plan, but Daniel wasn't convinced. Jeremy suggested that he ask his cousin to help out with another car so they would be able to carry more cash. The plan was up in the air. While the three men were trying to figure out where to get the biggest haul, Mary and Orson Jackson were driving from Oklahoma. Their final destination as Kirtland, New Mexico. They were traveling in a U-Haul so that they could carry something very personal an important with them. They were looking forward to an exciting road trip. The couple was getting tired, so they decided to try to find a hotel room. They were going to find a motel, but while looking, they decided to find something to eat. They pulled off the highway at a roadside restaurant. The couple was carrying precious cargo so while they were eating, they were looking for motels that had excellent security including well-lit parking lots and cameras. Finally, they settled on the Residence Inn by Marriot. It was on the outskirts of town and in a safe area. The couple was sure that their truck would be safe there. The next morning, the couple checked out of their room and were ready to finish their trip. When they got to the parking lot, the U-Haul was gone. She couldn't believe that something so precious to her had been stolen. They called the police who started to investigate. While the police were investigating, they heard about another crime over the radio that was taking place. An officer saw a red pickup truck that was reported stolen and there were three men in it. The police saw how upset Mary was about the stolen U-Haul. They asked her what was inside that had her so angry. She told them that they were driving to New Mexico with her father's body in a casket. He had passed away, and it was his dream to be buried with family in New Mexico. When the police heard about what she had in the truck, they realized that it wouldn't be long before they found the truck. Around the same time the truck was discovered, the police caught the three men in the stolen truck. It didn't take long for the police to realize that the stolen truck and the stolen U-Haul had been taken by the same people. They managed to solve two crimes at once. When the men were arrested, people wondered why they abandoned the truck. It was simple. The thieves ran away from stolen U-Haul because they thought it would curse them. When the men saw that there was a dead boy in the back of the truck, they panicked. The contents of the truck completely ruined their plans. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe to Facts Verse: http://bit.ly/FactsVerse ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/factsverse/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/factsverse/ Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/factsverse6030/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.factsverse.com

What need for a public ceremony? Why the weird traditions that people normally keep away from: all those churches, temples, hymns, vows and prayers? Marriage must be a silly relic from the religious childhood of humankind, not designed for the more logical modern world..." The Paradox of Violence | Tim Larkin | TEDxGrandForks

17:12
Violence is rarely the answer, but when it is... it is the only answer. This provocative talk explores the uncomfortable realities of violence. There is no greater fear that being physically dominated by a bigger, faster, stronger attacker. Yet there is actually little good information on how to use the tool of violence. Here you will learn the surprising truth about violence and how we have stigmatized the study of violence to the point that only the criminal elements have access to it. A former military intelligence officer, Tim Larkin was part of a beta group that redesigned how special operations personnel trained for close combat. He has a 25-year career, training people in 52 countries on how to deal with imminent violence. Over 10,000 clients are trained in his Target Focus Training (TFT) from military special operations units, special law enforcement teams, celebrities, and high profile business leaders on how to use physics and physiology to injure any human(s) trying to attack them. The nation’s leading pro-victim rights and personal safety advocate as well as a member of the Black Belt Hall of Fame, Tim’s numerous magazine covers and articles in the martial arts and self-defense industry are as controversial as his "pro-victim advocate" position on self-protection. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx

Why I Started Waking Up at 5:30 AM And How It Changed My Life

11:49
How to Change Your Life through Your Sleep Cycle. We keep hearing how early birds are way more productive and successful. We decided to conduct an experiment to find out whether it's truly helpful or necessary to wake up super early every day. If you want to try to change your sleep cycle and transform your life you can follow some simple tips on how to become an early bird. TIMESTAMPS How it all started 0:48 The first week of the experiment 1:55 How I changed my morning routine 3:55 Why introverts will love early rises 5:33 The new attitude to breakfast 7:06 How the quality of sleep changed 7:59 How to become an early riser 8:17 Jerry Seinfeld approach 10:23 Music: Good Starts . Jingle Punks Happy Haunts . Aaron Kenny https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -The first couple of days were the worst. I could barely keep my eyes open, and I dreamed about getting back to sleep. -After the first week, however, I learned an eye-opening truth about myself: mornings are the most productive time of day for me. I started to wake up with a clear mind, a well-rested body, and the ability to immediately concentrate on important tasks and set goals for the following day. -My new sleeping regime gave me 2 extra hours before I had to leave for work. All the spare time I had opened doors to new possibilities, habits, and hobbies. -If you're an introvert and enjoy spending time alone in silence, you'll definitely have a new level of appreciation for early rises: no kids yelling, no babies crying, no cars honking, and no television noise. -I had enough time not only to prepare breakfast but to sit down and enjoy it as well. And after that, I'll never go back to my old “I'll just grab a snack” ways. -During this monthlong experiment, I realized that I don’t need to stay in bed for 10–12 hours to get enough sleep. Waking up at 5:30, I feel rested and full of energy to start a new day. -To become an early riser, open your curtains before going to bed. Withdraw from your phone, tablet, and TV at least an hour before bed if you want to improve the quality of your sleep. If you have trouble falling asleep, try reading in bed or listening to an audiobook. -Jerry Seinfeld has a big wall calendar, and for every day that he writes new material, he puts a big red “X” on it. He aims to create an unbroken chain of these “X” marks for as long as he can.
