How the New York Stock Exchange Works

05:03
In our top story Nicole takes us on a tour of the New York Stock Exchange. The NYSE was founded in 1792 and today billions of dollars exchange hands there everyday. More than 2,000 companies trade their stock there. Owning stock is like owning a stake in a company, if the company does well you can make money, if it does badly you can lose money. 3 Simple Ways To Use Candlestick Patterns In Trading; SchoolOfTrade.com

In today's video we are going to discuss three (3) simple ways that I like to use candlestick patterns in my trading. So let's take a step back and look at JUST price action. Stripping your chart of all of the indicators and going back to the bare bones can give you a HUGE insight into how prices work and why it does what it does and this video covers a few ways to do that! -------------------- Learn the Patterns with My Free Trading Course: http://www.schooloftrade.com/trial ----------------------------------------- Read the FULL Transcript of this Video & Download Today’s Charts: http://www.sidewaysmarkets.com/ -------------------- Trading Psychology Videos: https://www.sidewaysmarkets.com/trader-psychology/ -------------------- Become a Member and Join the Trade Room: http://www.schooloftrade.com/ -------------------- Contact the office for more information: [email protected] 800.381.2084 Skype: Megan.James12345 ---------------------------------------------- Economic News: Please remember that economic news, both scheduled and un-scheduled will increase volatility and decrease liquidity in the market in the short-term, which causes price-action to react inconsistently with the levels of support and resistance mentioned in this video. Trading during economic news reports is dangerous and highly discouraged, no matter what your level of experience. 84. A Breakdown of the Forex Trading Day

04:24
Practice trading with a free demo trading account: http://bit.ly/IT-forex-demo3 View full lesson: http://www.informedtrades.com/21071-breakdown-forex-trading-day.html Unlike the futures and equities markets, the forex market trades actively 24 hours a day with active trading hours following the sun around the globe to each of the major money centers. As the foreign exchange market is an over the counter market where two counterparties can trade with each other whenever they want, technically the market never closes. Most electronic trading platforms however open for trading at around 5 PM Eastern Time on Sunday, which corresponds to the start of Monday's business hours in Australia and New Zealand. While there are certainly banks in these countries which actively make markets in foreign exchange, there is very little trading done in these countries when compared to other major money centers of the world. The first major money center to open and there fore the start of the first major session in the forex market is the Asian Trading session which corresponds with the start of business hours in Tokyo at 7pm Eastern Time on Sunday. While still considered 1 of the three major money centers, only 7.6% of forex transactions flow through Tokyo trading desks, so the Asian trading session is the least active of the three. While there is active trading in Yen based currency pairs during Asian hours the market for currencies outside of Yen based pairs is relatively thin, making Asian trading hours a time when the larger banks and hedge funds in the market will sometimes try and push the market in their favor. Next in line is the European trading session which begins with the start of London business hours at 2 AM Eastern Standard Time. While New York is considered by most to be the largest financial center in the world, London is still king of the forex market with over 32% of all forex transactions taking place in the city. Before the Euro there were more than a dozen additional currencies in Europe making foreign exchange part of every day life for both individuals and businesses operating in the region. In addition to this, London is situated perfectly from a time zone standpoint with business hours for both the large eastern and western economies taking place during London trading hours. As London is the most active session in the forex market it is also the session with the most volatility for all the currency pairs which we will be studying in this course. Last but not least is the US session which begins with the start of New York business hours at 8 AM Eastern Standard Time. New York is a distant second to London in terms of forex trading volumes with approximately 19% of all forex transactions flowing through New York Dealing Rooms. The most active part of the US Trading session, and the most active time for the forex market in general, is from about 8am to 12pm when both London and New York trading desks are open for business. You can see very large volatility during this time as in addition to both New York and London trading desks being open, most of the major US economic announcements are released during these hours as well. The trading day winds down after 12pm New York time with most electronic platforms closing for business at around 4 PM Eastern Standard Time on Friday.

Betfair trading | Betfair betting exchange outage - Peter Webb | Bet Angel

20:56
Betfair, the worlds biggest betting exchange, suffered another outage on Saturday and the Betfair trading world was up in arms. Bet Angel works on the Betfair betting exchange and also the Betdaq betting exchange. So my response was simply to switch my entire Betfair trading activity to betangel for Betdaq, but there is a lot of discussions to be had around these issues. I have made my views on this apparent many times before, but I thought it was maybe about time to upload a video to record them while it was still fresh in mind. You can learn a lot about the market and about other participants, or their lack of participation when the site goes down. So I see a site outage as a opportunity to learn about those things, to gather data, watch what happens and how the market changes. But obviously, I would prefer if there were no outages at all. But to be honest, its would be exceptional to never have one. Any how, here are my view on it. Join the discussion in the forum.

The Ultimate Candlestick Patterns Trading Course

38:11
Learn how candlestick patterns can help you identify high probability trading setups — so you can profit in bull and bear markets. SUBSCRIBE: https://bit.ly/2MsGjRR If you want more actionable Forex trading tips and strategies, go to https://www.tradingwithrayner.com **FOLLOW RAYNER** Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/forextradingwithrayner Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/rayner_teo My YouTube channel: http://bit.ly/2EFg5VN 0:50 To get started is what is a candlestick pattern? Okay, so a candlestick pattern is essentially a method, right? Of reading a price chart. It originated back in Japan, right? That's the history. And the key component of a candlestick chart is that it shows you four things. It shows you the opening price, the price, the high of the session, the low of the session and the closing price, 2:00 How do you read a candlestick pattern? Or how do you read a candlestick chart? So remember there are only four things, the open, the high, the low, and the close. You can see that the candles are usually typically two colors, either you know, green, red, or perhaps it can be black, white. Sometimes you can even you know, change the color if you want, but generally, the most common color is green and red. 9:00 So now, I want to walk you through something what we call combining candlestick patterns. Because candlestick patterns, they are essentially just showing you the price of the different sessions. And if you think about this, right? This can be combined, right? 12:48 So now, how not to trade candlestick patterns, right? So now you know how to read candlestick pattern, you even know how to combine them, how do you not trade candlestick patterns? Because this is a mistake. 15:00 So how should you trade candlestick patterns? I would like to introduce to you something what I call the TAE framework. The TAE TAE framework, alright? So what is TAE? TAE stands for Trend, right? A is Area of value, and E stands for Entry trigger. 16:00 The engulfing pattern, right? This is the so called the theory behind it, right? So you can see that this green candle over here is what we call the bullish engulfing pattern. Why is that? Because if you look at it, right? The body of the green candle which is the... From here in the open and the close, it has engulfed the body of the previous candle. 18:00 Hammer and shooting star. Alright, so let's have a look at the hammer. So the hammer is something that you might be familiar with because you saw earlier, right? The earlier examples. So the hammer is a bullish reversal, because it's actually showing you price rejection in the market. In fact, it's rejection of lower prices. 19:20 Dragonfly and a Gravestone Doji, right? Sounds a handful but really the method is very similar to the hammer and shooting star. The only difference, right? Is that now this Doji. Doji simply means, right? A indecision in the markets. But for Dragonfly and Gravestone Doji, it's a sign of price rejection. 20:45 Morning and evening star. Red star, let's look at the star. So this is a morning star, so you can see that this is somewhat similar to the engulfing pattern, but with a slight variation to it. First candle, sellers are in control. Open over here and closing near the lows. 23:00 Finally Tweezer Top and Bottom, right? So a Tweezer Top, right? Is this one over here, okay? So this actually a Tweezer Bottom. 24:26 How does this fit into the TAE framework, right? Remember the TAE, right? Trend, Area of value, and the Entry trigger. So now we have really settle the entry trigger portion because the reversal patterns that you have seen earlier, those are entry triggers that you can use to enter the trade. But before you, you know, you trade it right? Remember we said, right? Don't trade it in isolation. This means that we have to use other factors or other market conditions, right? This book over here will talk about how you can go about writing trends in the market. For price action trading, right? The ultimate guide to price action trading, this one will share with you on how you can better read the markets and better time your entries and exits. Pretty much similar to what you have learned today, but in a more in-depth manner. So go to my website and download these two trading guides. Click this blue button and I'll send it to your email address for free.

How Does Trading Work - Stock Exchange Documentary - Prehistoric TV

43:35
How Does Trading Work - Stock Exchange Documentary - Prehistoric TV Stocks are devices that were used internationally, in medieval, Renaissance and colonial American times as a form of physical punishment involving public humiliation. The stocks partially immobilized its victims and they were often exposed in a public place such as the site of a market to the scorn of those who passed by. This scorn was commonly represented by throwing rotten food at the victim. The stocks are similar to the pillory and the pranger, as each consists of large, hinged, wooden boards; the difference, however, is that when a person is placed in the stocks, their feet are locked in place, sometimes their hands or head may have been chained also. With stocks, boards are placed around the ankles and the wrists in some cases, whereas in the pillory they are placed around the arms and neck and fixed to a pole, and the victim stands. However, the terms can be confused, and many people refer to the pillory as the stocks. The victim's feet were usually bare; this caused heightened humiliation. Since stocks served an outdoor public form of punishment, its victims were subjected to the daily and nightly weather. As a consequence it was common for people kept in stocks over several days to die from exposure. Read More: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stocks

What is the FTSE 100 Index? How to Trade it?

07:04
When beginners come into the trading world they hear words like “dax”, “footsie”, “support”, “resistance”, “forex pair” and it can all be a bit confusing. So here is a video about the FTSE 100 (pronounced “footsie one hundred”) - the 100 largest UK companies on the Financial Times Stock Exchange. Together with our Chief Market Strategist David Jones, we go over the principles that determine which UK companies are in the index, or are substituted every three months, as well as how to understand its movements and how to trade it. So what is the FTSE 100 index? It represents the 100 companies with the highest value on the London Stock Exchange and is responsible for the largest volume of shares being exchanged every day on the exchange. The reason for this is that FTSE 100 trading represents the best (and possibly the easiest) way to take part in the overall growth of the UK stock market. It’s also known as the UK 100 index and can be considered as the simplest entry point to gain an understanding of the UK stock market for beginners. Index trading for beginners isn’t too different than trading forex, individual stocks or gold but it does require a certain amount of knowledge and experience of how indices work and how individual companies or groups of companies (like financial, healthcare, etc.) can impact its price. So if you want to learn how to start stock market trading and create your own FTSE trading strategy, watch this video and subscribe to our channel for regular updates about UK 100 trading. #ftse #indextrading #stockmarket *** Follow David Jones and Capital.com on: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/capitalcom/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/capitalcom Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/capital.com *** Explore trading and start investing with Capital.com. The Difference Between The Stock Market And The Economy

07:04
Each day, investors are treated to news about the economy and information about how the stock market has done recently. It can be very difficult to process what’s going on because at any given moment in time, there may be very little correlation between how things are going in the real world and how prices are acting on Wall Street. The noted fund manager and author Ralph Wagner once described the relationship between the economy and the stock market thusly: “There’s an excitable dog on a very long leash in New York City, darting randomly in every direction. The dog’s owner is walking from Columbus Circle, through Central Park, to the Metropolitan Museum. At any one moment, there is no predicting which way the pooch will lurch.” “But in the long run, you know he’s heading northeast at an average speed of three miles per hour. What is astonishing is that almost all of the dog watchers, big and small, seem to have their eye on the dog, and not the owner.” I use this analogy all the time to help people understand how the economy and stock market play off of each other. One of the hardest things to do as an investor is to entertain two opposing thoughts in our minds at once, and find a way to keep them despite the cognitive dissonance this can produce. One of the most ironic aspects of investing is that the greatest gains lie ahead at times when things are bad, but not quite as bad as everyone suspects, and slowly, almost imperceptibly getting better. This is the moment when assets are selling at discounted values and the opportunities are laying at our feet, there for the taking. Conversely, the worst time to invest is once everyone agrees that the environment is terrific and that the gains will continue as far as the eye can see. It is at this moment we find ourselves paying up for assets and competing with lots of other buyers. But most of the time, neither the economy nor the stock market is as good as it could get, or as bad as it could get. Typically, the economy trudges along a straight path for years at a time and it’s the stock market that is easily excitable, ripping to and fro based on the latest information to hit the tape. Over longer periods of time, we do see a correlation between stocks and the economy, but over periods of less than a year, there is literally no rhyme or reason for what has happened. All explanations are simply ex post facto; an expert grasping at straws to assemble a reasonable take on what has occurred, and why it ought to have been obvious to everyone. Understanding the economy is a helpful exercise. Placing market bets as a result of this understanding is a carnival game on the midway. » Subscribe to CNBC: http://cnb.cx/SubscribeCNBC » Subscribe to CNBC TV: http://cnb.cx/SubscribeCNBCtelevision » Subscribe to CNBC Classic: http://cnb.cx/SubscribeCNBCclassic About CNBC: From 'Wall Street' to 'Main Street' to award winning original documentaries and Reality TV series, CNBC has you covered. Understanding the Derivatives Market: New York Stock Exchange Deutsche Börse Merger (2011)

01:22:18
Deutsche Börse AG (German pronunciation: [ˈdɔʏtʃə ˈbœʁzə]) or the Deutsche Börse Group, is a marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and other securities. It is also a transaction services provider. It gives companies and investors access to global capital markets. It is a joint stock company and was founded in 1993. The headquarters are in Frankfurt. As of December 2010, the over 765 companies listed had a combined market capitalization of EUR 1.4 trillion. On 1 October 2014, Deutsche Börse AG became the 14th announced member of the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative. Since 2007 Deutsche Börse operates the joint venture Scoach with SIX Swiss Exchange to provide a European derivative trading platform. In 2001, Deutsche Börse tried to merge with the London Stock Exchange, followed by a takeover bid in late 2004, both rejected by LSE.[4] After CEO Werner Seifert was forced to resign by the main shareholders in 2005, Deutsche Börse changed plans and entered into advanced negotiations for a merger with Euronext which would have brought two of the biggest stock exchanges in Europe into one holding. The New York Stock Exchange beat out Deutsche Börse's final bid for Euronext in 2006. On 7 December 2008, Deutsche Börse rebuffed rumors that it might join with NYSE Euronext (the company formed as a result of the merger of NYSE and Euronext) to create the world's leading stock exchange.[5] While the company claims that it pursued the matter, on 8 December 2008, it reported that talks which began on 25 November 2008, were closed without any result due to differences in valuation of the company.[6] Deutsche Börse had also considered the acquisition again in 2009. On 9 February 2011, reports suggested that NYSE Euronext and Deutsche Börse were in advanced talks about an all-stock merger.[7] Deutsche Börse was in advanced talks to buy NYSE Euronext in a deal that would create the world's largest trading powerhouse. The shares of both companies were temporarily frozen on the news due to the risk of large price movements and clarifications of the deal. A successful deal would see the new company becoming the world's largest stock exchange operator with a market capitalisation of listed companies equal to US$15 trillion, US$13.39 trillion of which is part of the much larger NYSE Euronext, which is approximately six times the size of Deutsche Börse. President and deputy CEO of NYSE Euronext Dominique Cerutti would become the new company's president and head of commercial and internal technology. Roland Bellegarde, also of NYSE Euronext, would become the head of European cash equities. The new company would potentially have 300 million euros (US$410 million) in cost savings. However, the merger would be subject to review in both the United States and European Union under concerns it could create a "de facto monopoly".[8] NYSE Euronext shareholders approved the Deutsche Börse’s all-stock deal on 7 July 2011,[9] and Deutsche Börse shareholders had accepted the deal by 15 July 2011.[10] On 22 December 2011, Deutsche Boerse won U.S. antitrust approval to buy NYSE Euronext, on the condition that a Deutsche Börse subsidiary, the International Securities Exchange, divest its 31.5% interest in Direct Edge.[11] NYSE Euronext and Deutsche Boerse AG delayed the deadline for completing their merger until 31 March 2012, as the exchange operators try to persuade European regulators to approve the deal.[12] The European Commission blocked the merger on 1 February 2012, citing the fact that the merged company would have a near monopoly.[13] This measure taken by the EC is the fourth blocking in over a decade.[14] The commission rejected the merger on antitrust grounds, saying the combined businesses would dominate Europe's on-exchange derivatives trading with an estimated 93% market share. "This is a black day for Europe and its global competitiveness on financial markets", said Deutsche Börse chief executive Reto Francioni. NYSE Euronext chairman Jan-Michiel Hessels said: "While we are disappointed and strongly disagree with the EU decision, which is based on a fundamentally different understanding of the derivatives market, it is now time to move on". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deutsche_B%C3%B6rse

The #1 Pattern for Day Trading Stocks

The #1 Pattern for Day Trading Stocks Best Day Trading Book: https://www.amazon.com/Trading-Carter-Farr/dp/1098940539/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=trading+it&qid=1558760266&s=gateway&sr=8-6 I have partnered up with TradeIdeas recently to bring you discount products they have! Most of you have seen my TradeIdeas Scanner in the group chat!! Use code “MVP 15” for 15% off any product. Click the Link to Join!! https://www.trade-ideas.com/referral.html?p=tradelikecarter&w=pricelist Chat Room: https://discord.gg/RAnCPPj Basic Day Trading Tips Knowledge is Power In addition to knowledge of basic trading procedures, day traders need to keep up on the latest stock market news and events that affect stocks — the Fed's interest rate plans, the economic outlook, etc. So do your homework. Make a wish list of stocks you'd like to trade and keep yourself informed about the selected companies and general markets. Scan business news and visit reliable financial websites. Set an Amount Aside Assess how much capital you're willing to risk on each trade. Many successful day traders risk less than 1% to 2% of their account per trade. If you have a $40,000 trading account and are willing to risk 0.5% of your capital on each trade, your maximum loss per trade is $200 (0.005 x $40,000). Set aside a surplus amount of funds you can trade with and are prepared to lose. Remember, it may or may not happen. Set Aside Time, Too Day trading requires your time. That's why it's called day trading. You'll need to give up most of your day, in fact. Don’t consider it if you have limited time to spare. The process requires a trader to track the markets and spot opportunities, which can arise any time during trading hours. Moving quickly is key. Start Small As a beginner, focus on a maximum of one to two stocks during a session. Tracking and finding opportunities is easier with just a few stocks. Recently, it has become increasingly common to be able to trade fractional shares, so you can specify specific, smaller dollar amounts you wish to invest. That means if Apple shares are trading at $250 and you only want to buy $50 worth, many brokers will now let you purchase 1/5 of a share. Time Those Trades Many orders placed by investors and traders begin to execute as soon as the markets open in the morning, contributing to price volatility. A seasoned player may be able to recognize patterns and pick appropriately to make profits. But for newbies, it may be better just to read the market without making any moves for the first 15 to 20 minutes. The middle hours are usually less volatile, and then movement begins to pick up again toward the closing bell. Though the rush hours offer opportunities, it’s safer for beginners to avoid them at first. Cut Losses With Limit Orders Decide what type of orders you will use to enter and exit trades. Will you use market orders or limit orders? When you place a market order, it is executed at the best price available at the time — thus, no price guarantee. A limit order, meanwhile, does guarantee the price, but not the execution. Limit orders help you trade with more precision, wherein you set your price (not unrealistic but executable) for buying as well as selling. More sophisticated and experienced day traders may employ the use of options strategies to hedge their positions as well. Be Realistic About Profits A strategy doesn't need to win all the time to be profitable. Many traders only win 50% to 60% of their trades. The point is, they make more on their winners than they lose on their losers. Make sure the risk on each trade is limited to a specific percentage of the account, and that entry and exit methods are clearly defined and written down. Stay Cool There are times when the stock markets test your nerves. As a day trader, you need to learn to keep greed, hope, and fear at bay. Decisions should be governed by logic and not emotion. And Stick to the Plan Successful traders have to move fast, but they don't have to think fast. Why? Because they've developed a trading strategy in advance, along with the discipline to stick to that strategy. It is important to follow your formula closely rather than try to chase profits. There's a mantra among day traders: "Plan your trade and trade your plan." Don't let emotions get the best of your strategy. Before we go into some of the ins and outs of day trading, let's look at some of the reasons why day trading can be so difficult. Death by Leveraged ETFs - Warning About Exchange Traded Funds!

05:43
Exchange traded funds (ETFs) are just like stocks, but there is a major problem with them. Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/user/PeterLeedsPennyStock Do not buy or sell any ETF until you watch this warning. Subscribe to our channel, to learn more about investing, penny stocks, and profits from high-quality, low-priced shares: https://www.youtube.com/user/PeterLeedsPennyStock ETFs are a lot like a mutual fund, in that they hold a group of investments (stocks + bonds). The beauty is that they trade just like stocks, and have lower commissions, and you can trade any time. Each ETF is designed to mimic a specific investment or group of investments. So, for example, GLD attempts to copy the movements of gold prices. If you think gold will go higher, you can buy GLD. If you believe the economy of Africa will grow, you could buy AFK, if you want more exposure to Germany, you could purchase EWG, and so on. Warning number 1, and this isn't what I need to tell you about in this video, sometimes trading can be thin, so use limit orders rather than market orders if you are going to trade them, especially true in the very early or very last trading minutes each day. Anyway, here is the problem with ETFs which can cost you a huge amount of money. ETFs are actively managed, being continually rebalanced so that their holdings reflect the intention of the ETF. For example, INDA is meant to mirror the action of a wide range of companies in India. It involves 85% of the Indian stock market, and needs to be adjusted on a daily basis to make sure it is staying true to its purpose. With these adjustments comes a small management fee. Typically this expense will be very small, usually a fraction of a percent, and is typically less than a common mutual fund. - straight-up ETFs are pretty good, but leveraged ETFs will destroy your investment. - if tracking oil prices, USO will move very similarly to oil. If oil goes up 10%, the ETF may only rise 9.8%. This slight loss is barely noticeable, and it is called slippage. Not a huge deal, but this happens every day. When you get into leveraged ETFs, this becomes a major problem. For example, UWTI is designed to provide 3 times the return of WTI oil. If WTI goes up 1%, UWTI tries to rise 3%. Likewise, if WTI falls 1%, UWTI would fall about 3 times that much. The problem is slippage. In reality if WTI rises 2%, UWTI is designed to climb three times that much, so 6%. However, in reality it may only gain 5.95%, for example. Then, if WTI falls 2%, it is back to where it originally started, but UWTI is designed to fall 3 times that amount, or 6%. In reality, it will likely fall a tiny bit more than 6. These slight shortfalls get applied every day, so if you lose a fraction of your investment, again and again and again, you are suffering a slow bleed. You probably wouldn't even notice it on any single day, but that is why the long term charts of any leverage ETF are always in a slow, steady downtrend. ETFs, especially the leveraged ones, are great for making a very short term call, but should never be used for long term investing. For example, if you expect oil prices to spike, you could play it by buying UWTI, but do it only as a short term trade. If you hold for weeks or months, you will almost certainly lose . Protect yourself when trading ETFs. Consider avoiding buying or selling in the first few or final few minutes. And do not hold ETFs for extended lengths of time, especially the leveraged ones. . Think Like a Pro Trader | Crude Oil, Emini, Nasdaq, Gold, Euro

51:38
Markets are mostly range-bound ahead of major news and a holiday weekend, which means tomorrow’s session is going to be filled with opportunities to lose money… But there’s an easy way to avoid those losses, you just need to start thinking like a professional trader – are you ready? -------------------- Learn the Patterns with My Free Trading Course: http://www.schooloftrade.com/trial ----------------------------------------- Crude Oil is bearish with three legs lower, which usually means we’re going sideways the following trading day. Knowing this, I'm gearing up to trade this as a range-bound market – buying low, selling high, and avoiding the middle at all costs. E-Mini S&P is bullish into a triangle pattern, which always tells me to focus on trading the “edges” of the triangle pattern. Knowing this, the best entry set-up for a triangle is the 2-Try Failure pattern, which I'm waiting patiently for as we speak. Nasdaq is bullish into a trading-range this evening, which reminds me to avoid the middle, staying focused on buying low, selling high, and waiting for failure set-ups. And don’t forget – don’t let a strong move lower fool you, because it’s most likely just going to complete the measured-move. Once it’s completed, then look for the short-covering rally all the way back up into the range again. Gold is bullish into a combination of two separate patterns; a triangle, and a rectangle trading-range. My main focus is on the rectangle range because that came first, and I have my eyes on buying opportunities down around 1270 using the ‘pendulum swing’. Euro is bearish into a tiny trading-range this evening, which means my goal is to continue fading the bull breakouts, selling into each move higher using the buyer-failure set-up tomorrow morning. And remember, with the ECB Minutes and the EU Elections tomorrow morning, we may be quiet on the Euro, and if so, stay patient and keep thinking like a professional! -------------------- Read the FULL Transcript of this Video & Download Today’s Charts: http://www.sidewaysmarkets.com/ -------------------- Trading Psychology Videos: https://www.sidewaysmarkets.com/trader-psychology/ -------------------- Become a Member and Join the Trade Room: http://www.schooloftrade.com/ -------------------- Contact the office for more information: [email protected] 800.381.2084 Skype: Megan.James12345 ---------------------------------------------- Economic News: Please remember that economic news, both scheduled and un-scheduled will increase volatility and decrease liquidity in the market in the short-term, which causes price-action to react inconsistently with the levels of support and resistance mentioned in this video. WALL STREET HISTORIC FILM NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE "BEHIND THE TICKER TAPE" 72892

10:40
Support Our Channel : https://www.patreon.com/PeriscopeFilm Dating from 1957, "Behind the Ticker Tape" tells the story of the American Stock Exchange (now NYSE), showing how securities sales have evolved over the years, and giving a profile of the ASE at the height of its activity. NYSE MKT LLC, formerly known as the American Stock Exchange (AMEX), is an American stock exchange situated in New York City, New York. AMEX was previously a mutual organization, owned by its members. Until 1953, it was known as the New York Curb Exchange. On January 17, 2008, NYSE Euronext announced it would acquire the AMEX for $260 million in stock; on October 1, 2008, NYSE Euronext completed the acquisition. Before the closing of the acquisition, NYSE Euronext announced that the AMEX would be integrated with the Alternext European small-cap exchange and renamed the NYSE Alternext U.S. In March 2009, NYSE Alternext U.S. was changed to NYSE Amex Equities. On May 10, 2012, NYSE Amex Equities changed its name to NYSE MKT LLC. These brokers often traded stocks that were speculative in nature. With the discovery of oil in the latter half of the 19th century, even oil stocks entered into the curb market. By 1865, following the American Civil War, stocks in small industrial companies, such as iron and steel, textiles and chemicals were first sold by curbstone brokers. Efforts to organize and standardize the market started early in the 20th century under Emanuel S. Mendels and Carl H. Pforzheimer.. In 1908, the New York Curb Market Agency was established, to codify trading practices. In 1911, the curbstone brokers came to be known as the New York Curb Market, which then had a formal constitution with brokerage and listing standards. After several years of outdoor trading, the curbstone brokers moved indoors in 1921 to New York Curb Exchange Building on Greenwich Street in Lower Manhattan. In 1929, the New York Curb Market changed its name to the New York Curb Exchange. Within no time, the Curb Exchange became the leading international stock market, listing more foreign issues than all other U.S. securities markets combined. In 1953 the Curb Exchange was renamed the American Stock Exchange. Paul Kolton was named as president of the exchange in 1971, making him the first person to be selected from within the exchange to serve as its leader, succeeding Ralph S. Saul, who announced his resignation in March 1971. In November 1972, Kolton was named as the exchange's first chief executive officer and its first salaried top executive. Kolton opposed the idea of a merger with the New York Stock Exchange while he headed the exchange saying that "two independent, viable exchanges are much more likely to be responsive to new pressures and public needs than a single institution". Kolton announced in July 1977 that he would be leaving his position at the American Exchange in November of that year. The American Stock Exchange merged with the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE Euronext) on October 1, 2008.[4] Post merger, the Amex equities business was branded "NYSE Alternext US". As part of the re-branding exercise, NYSE Alternext US was re-branded as NYSE Amex Equities. On December 1, 2008, the Curb Exchange building at 86 Trinity Place was closed, and the Amex Equities trading floor was moved to the NYSE Trading floor at 11 Wall Street. Slowing Down A Stock Exchange With 38 Miles Of Cable

High-frequency traders have a few tactics on stock exchanges: but simply put, they gather price information faster than anyone else, sometimes even faster than the markets themselves, and use that to make a tiny profit many, many, many times. There are all sorts of solutions: but it turns out there's a simpler one that involves physics. Thanks to Ronan and all the team at IEX - you can find out more about them here: https://iextrading.com/ or on Twitter at https://twitter.com/IEX I fact-checked Ronan's claim about the SEC white paper because it seemed a bit too good to be true, but he's right: see Hu, E. UK: LONDON: STOCK EXCHANGE WATCHES WALL STREET ANXIOUSLY

03:12
English/Nat Investors and dealers in London were anxiously watching events on Wall Street on Tuesday afternoon as the Dow Jones index fell further. A nervous City saw shares in leading British companies bounce back once trading started in New York. The Financial Times Stock Exchange 100 index of British blue chips slipped close to the day's lowest levels when 132 (b) billion dollars was wiped off shares in a 457 points fall in the minutes before Wall Street opened at 1430 G-M-T. But within 10 minutes of U-S trading resuming the FTSE recovered and was showing a fall of 376.9 points, down to 4-thousand-471.9. London newspapers carried the story of a meltdown on stock markets on Tuesday as they suffered their most drastic crisis since 1987's Black Monday. The market braced itself for the worst as Wall Street reopened at 1430 G-M-T, following the seven per cent slide that triggered its early closing on Monday. But a nervous City saw shares in leading British companies bounce back after sliding in advance of trading opening in New York. The U-K's Financial Times Stock Exchange 100 index of British blue chips fell by more than nine per cent in the first half hour of trading on Tuesday morning. At 1240 G-M-T the FTSE 100 had dropped by 6.69 per cent - down 324 points at 4-thousand-516 after falling more than nine per cent early in the session. Analysts cited turmoil in Hong Kong as the main trigger, although they said a meltdown was waiting to happen, with stock markets in general being overvalued. The chief executive of the London International Financial Futures Exchange explained what was happening. SOUNDBITE: (English) "There's a lot of volatility. There's a lot of price changes, which means a lot of volume. People want to hedge their positions. It's all to do with the atmosphere of uncertainty. If stock markets fall it creates an atmosphere of uncertainty. It also creates a bearish mood, a mood of pessimism. That's what is being reflected here. You see a mood of pessimism coming over bond markets, which means that the markets which relate to bond markets - the derivative markets of bond markets - are actually in a pessimistic mood, and they start falling too." SUPER CAPTION: Daniel Hodson, Chief Executive, London International Financial Futures Exchange At NatWest Stockbrokers in London workers braced themselves for the opening of the New York Stock Exchange. The Financial Times Stock Exchange 100 index of British blue chips slipped close to the day's lowest levels when 132 (b) billion dollars was wiped off shares in a 457 points fall in the minutes before Wall Street opened at 1430 G-M-T. Within 10 minutes of U-S trading resuming the FTSE recovered and was showing a fall of 376.9 points, down to 4-thousand-471.9. But the head of research at NatWest Stockbrokers said the bottom of the downturn may not yet have been reached. SOUNDBITE: (English) "When sentiment turns we do have a vicious downward spiral. What we're now waiting for is a sign that that downward spiral is petering out and the bottom has been reached, but at the moment there's not sign of it." SUPER CAPTION: Jeremy Batstone, Head of Research, NatWest Stockbrokers But while some City people chose to contemplate the ups and downs of the trading day and the risks involved, others were happy to skate on slighter thicker ice. Trade the Market’s Mindset | Crude Oil, Emini, Nasdaq, Gold, Euro

01:04:52
We’re heading into a busy, holiday-shortened week ahead of us – and with major news on the calendar and various types of range-bound markets on the charts, the secret to our success tomorrow is quite simple… We need to get into the mindset of the market for the most reliable trade set-ups on Tuesday - are you ready? -------------------- Learn the Patterns with My Free Trading Course: http://www.schooloftrade.com/trial ----------------------------------------- Crude Oil is sideways and trading in the middle of last Friday’s trading-range, which reminds me to avoid the middle, buy the low, and sell the high. Knowing this, the real secret is going to be waiting for a potential breakout and then “fading” the move back into the original trading-range using failure set-ups. E-Mini S&P is bullish as it comes off the low of a wide trading-range from earlier in May, but don’t let the bullishness fool you into chasing the move higher. A better strategy for tomorrow is to avoid the middle of this wide range, and wait for the next round of sellers to fail so I can buy into their stops, as close to the low of this range as possible. Nasdaq is bearish into a trading-range, which tells me to look for selling-opportunities up above the high of the range using buyer-failure patterns. But I'm not ignoring the buy-side of this market either - knowing that the E-Mini S&P has the potential to rally higher, all we need is a 123-Breakout to start looking for buy set-ups at the low of the Hidden Channel. Gold is bearish and tucked into a narrow trading-range this evening, which tells me to look for selling-opportunities using buyer-failures up above the high of the range. The tricky part is how narrow this range is –telling us the market’s mindset will be waiting for a better risk-reward-ratio using much wide expansion levels, so stay patient! Euro is bearish and sitting at the low of a Hidden Channel, which reminds me to look for selling-opportunities at the high of the channel. And with the short-term trading-range on the chart, I’d love to see the bulls try a breakout higher so I can combine the high of the channel with the range-expansions levels for sell set-ups going back down to the lows again. Breaking News: New York Stock Exchange To Start Trading Bitcoins

00:59
Breaking News: New York Stock Exchange To Start Trading Bitcoins Subscribe: http://bit.ly/CryptoCoinNewsYT The New York Times has reported that Intercontinental Exchange Inc., the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, has been developing an online trading platform which would allow investors to buy and hold Bitcoin. The company follows others such as Goldman Sachs which also announced its intention to open a Bitcoin trading platform. This interest among Wall Street power brokers marks a new chapter in the volatile history of Bitcoin, making it more mainstream and accessible. Other financial exchanges such as the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, have already created financial products linked to the price of Bitcoin, known as futures, but the new platform developed within Wall Street would provide direct access to it by putting the actual tokens in the customer’s account at the end of the trade.

Binary Options Trading Strategy - Cantor Exchange Trade May 12 2017 - Also works with Nadex

01:39
Forex Signals, Forex Auto Traders How about looking at a binary options strategy that actually works and can be proven... Trading binary options doesn't have to be that difficult. You don't need 7 indicators on your chart; you need only 1. Knowing the probabilities that your trade will expire in the money, or profitable, is vital to your trading success. Think about this... How many sites have you seen about binary options? How many of those allow you to pick up the phone and call them, post everything they do for all to see, and doesn't try to push you to buy anything if you call? Verified trading systems and strategies that work! This is what we preach everyday, whether it is Nadex, Cantor Exchange, or forex. Trading is trading and binary options move just like anything else... just in a different manner. A chart is a chart is a chart. By knowing every single detail of your trade, you can make a better informed decision on which price area aka 'STRIKE' to buy or sell. You can even see how many times it has won in the past, even over the past 5,000 signals. You can see different strikes, any time frame you want, and a shizzload more. Cantor Exchange and Nadex are the only binary options exchanges I trust. They are CFTC regulated, unlike the bucket shops. The difference between a 'binary broker' and a binary options exchange is: 1. Your money is held in a segregated account. 2. You trade against other traders, not the broker. 3. Zero price manipulation. TraderBot Marketplace and Joaquin Trading has created the perfect tool called the Trader Tool Suite. You can trade with limited risk, while maximizing profits. Not only will you leanr how to trade binary options but you will have access to binary options signals as well, every day. You can even create your own trading signals. We love forex as well but when we trade binary options, it allows us a distinct trading expiry and we know, win or lose, the trade will be over at that time. This helps with scheduling your life around your trading. The Columbian Exchange: Crash Course World History #23

12:09
In which John Green teaches you about the changes wrought by contact between the Old World and the New. John does this by exploring the totally awesome history book "The Columbian Exchange" by Alfred Cosby, Jr. After Columbus "discovered" the Americas, European conquerors, traders, and settlers brought all manner of changes to the formerly isolated continents. Disease and invasive plant and animal species remade the New World, usually in negative ways. While native people, plants, and animals were being displaced in the Americas, the rest of the world was benefitting from American imports, especially foods like maize, tomatoes, potatoes, pineapple, blueberries, sweet potatoes, and manioc. Was the Columbian Exchange a net positive? It's debatable. So debate. How to Trade on an Exchange (Part 1)

How to trade Bitcoin cryptocurrency for beginners! This tutorial shows how to trade BTC for altcoins on crypto exchanges. Get BTC, ETH, LTC, or BCH here: https://www.coinbase.com/join/5926bddfea359f083d018d81 Sign up for Binance here: https://www.binance.com/?ref=10709016 Visit https://coinmarketcap.com/ for altcoin prices. The first step is to buy Bitcoin. The easiest & most convenient site for you to use is Coinbase. Once you’ve registered, you’ll land on the Coinbase dashboard. From here you have to set up a Bitcoin vault before you can purchase Bitcoin by clicking on “Accounts,” then scroll down and click “New Account.” Click on “Vault” and choose “Bitcoin” as your currency, then naming it to whatever you want. I’ve already created a Bitcoin vault, so you won’t see it here as an option on my screen. The next step is to add a payment method. Click on “Buy/Sell” at the top, and under “Payment Method” click add a new account. This is where you can link up your credit card or online bank account. But before I continue any further, I have to emphasize that’s important to tighten the security on every single one of your cryptocurrency accounts by enabling two-factor authentication wherever possible, which you can do here. After you’ve set up a payment method, you can now instantly purchase Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, or Bitcoin Cash using a credit card. You can also transfer money over directly from your bank account--which costs 3 times less in fees--but it also takes several days for the Bitcoin to reflect on your account. Once you have the Bitcoin in your Coinbase account, open up a new tab & find out which exchange the coin you’re interested in is available on by going to coinmarketcap.com. Let’s take NEO for example. Once I’m on coinmarketcap, I’ll search for NEO, then click on the markets tab. You can see here all the exchanges NEO is traded on. Today, I’ll be showing you how to buy it on Binance. Once you’re in Binance, hover over “Funds” then click on “Balances.” This page gives you a running balance on all the coins you hold. As you can see in the top right corner, it also gives you an estimate of your portfolio’s worth in both Bitcoin and U.S. dollars. Now we want to transfer our Bitcoin over from Coinbase to Binance so we can use it to start purchasing NEO. On the “Balances” page, find Bitcoin and click on “Deposit.” This will show you your Bitcoin address that you’ll be sending your Bitcoin over to. Keep in mind that this address is STRICTLY for Bitcoin transfers only; sending any other currency aside from Bitcoin (like Ethereum or Litecoin) will result in your funds forever being lost, so be very careful of this! Copy your Binance Bitcoin address, go back to Coinbase, click on “Accounts,” then “Send.” Make sure you’re in the “Wallet Address” tab, then paste your Binance Bitcoin address into the “Recipient” field, enter the amount of Bitcoin you want to send, then click “Continue.” Transfers can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to show up, so give it some time for your balance to appear on Binance. In the meantime, let me give you a quick rundown on Binance’s user interface. I’ll also show you more on another large trading platform called Bittrex, but that’ll have to wait till part 2. You’ll see on the main page that Binance has four different markets: BNB, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USD Tether. Each of these means that you use that respective currency to trade for all the other coins. So clicking on “ETH Markets,” for example, gives you all the currencies you can trade Ether against. Since we just bought & transferred Bitcoin, we’ll be sticking to the Bitcoin markets. You’ll also see a “Favorites” section, where you have a list of your favorite trading pairs, like Icon to Bitcoin and Stellar Lumens to Ethereum for example. Going back to our NEO example, let’s click on NEO to Bitcoin. Doing so brings us to where we can buy NEO for Bitcoin using the “Basic” layout. On the upper left, you’ll see the sell orders and below that you’ll see the buy orders. This graph here shows the historic price fluctuations for NEO, where you can break down the time intervals where each candle represents anything from a 1-minute time frame up to a 1-week timeframe. For now, ignore the indicators that you see on my screen like volume and MACD, as I’ll be addressing them in part 2. In the upper right-hand side you’ll see a list of the available markets, and below that is NEO’s trade history, which shows all the buys & sells of NEO that have recently taken place. Clicking on “Yours” filters out just your own NEO buys & sells in the last 24 hours. But before I continue, let me explain to you the difference between limit & market orders. A limit order is when you place a limit as to the price you’re willing to buy or sell a coin for. So when I place a buy order for 1 NEO at 0.012350, it means that’s the highest price limit I’m willing to pay in Bitcoin for 1 NEO.
How many times has the stock market gone up 6 years straight?

05:12
Did you know that the stock market has gone up 6 straight years only three times over the last 90 years? The first time was after World War II, then around 1982, and then back in the 90's. In each of these cases, our country was experiences huge economic expansion. Yet, here we are in 2014, on our 5th consecutive year of the stock market going up, and we aren't really seeing much economic expansion (don't confuse economic expansion with stock market expansion). We have Federal Reserve balance sheet expansion, but not jobs and real growth expansion. Make sure to prepare and protect yourself. The stock market will have a correction, it is only a matter of when and how much. Have a plan and be ready when it does.
