"The Federal Bureau of Investigation has launched a probe into pricing practices within American Express Co.’s foreign-exchange unit, according to people familiar with the matter. The investigation, which is being run out of the FBI’s Washington field office, is in its early stages and is focused on whether the foreign-exchange international payments department misrepresented pricing to clients in order to win their business, the people said. The FBI began its investigation in August, the people said, after The Wall Street Journal, citing current and former employees, reported that AmEx’s foreign-exchange unit had recruited business clients with offers of low currency-conversion rates before raising prices without warning. An AmEx spokeswoman declined to comment on the FBI investigation. In July, Amex said it took the allegations very seriously and would conduct a review. The unit’s employees have been instructed to avoid deleting emails, people familiar with the instructions said. The FBI is in the fact-gathering stage of the investigation, the people familiar with the matter said. The bureau is communicating with AmEx and is waiting for the company to answer a list of questions, they said." What is the best way to exchange currency? Without all the fees, of course. One of the best options is to withdraw cash from one of your bank's ATMs in the local currency. You'll be hit with an ATM fee and exchange fee, but it will be less than many money changers. I don't know if there will be an ATM for my credit union abroad. Many banks let you use your debit card abroad. There will be a currency exchange fee, but it's a flexible way to pay your bills. What about the Cambio booths in a lot of airports and transportation hubs? They may look like ATMs, but they charge some of the highest exchange fees. You'd be better of using a local American Express. I don't have an American Express card. They'll still exchange your currency for a fee. And then there's the option of just exchanging currency. That's what we were talking about! No, no, I mean asking locals if they will take American dollars. They may haggle with you for dollars, and convert the currency themselves later at the local bank. Can I change currency at a local bank? Yes, but American bank branches and American Express have lower fees. And never, ever change currency at the hotel unless you have no other option. Why not? You will pay as much for the convenience as you will for the service. What do you think about trading on the Forex? It is a good way to lose a lot of money, and it is even worse when trying to convert currency so you can go on a trip. What about using a local currency exchange kiosk? Or individual currency dealers? Why don't you just get a sign that says "kidnap me" and get in anyone pretending to be a taxi? They prey on dumb tourists. I'm not abroad yet.

The scammer hires you to do customer satisfaction survey of Western Union service. They send you American Express Travelers Cheques of $2000 and tell to you to pretend as a Western Union customer. $1550 is to be trasferred to someone abroad, in my case, in the UK. You keep $300 for completing their questionaire. CHASE bank cashed the cheques for me and I did through all those. Then, I called AmExp customer service and they say they no more issue AmExp travelers cheques due to frequent frauds. Every transaction was cleared and cancelled within 20 minutes. I was so lucky for the fact that I did email them the MTCN number that they can collect that amount right away. CHASE bank in Los Angeles area is notified with info too. I wish this will help some people not to be victimized.

Instagram: https://goo.gl/vzBDdg Facebook: https://goo.gl/DZmAeM Twitter: https://goo.gl/6gvG4T #GettingRich #Investing The most respected investor in the world is undoubtedly Warren Buffet. If others had to come up with inventions ahead of their time to be on the top of Forbes list. This man has been the second richest man in the world for many years in a raw by simply investing. And what sets him apart from others is that he started with absolutely nothing. Today, we will take a look at how warren buffet invests and how exactly he made over 85 billion dollars. But first, let's take a look at how buffet got into the investing first. Warren buffet grew up in an average family, so he quickly learned the value of money. At the age of 13, he started delivering newspapers, selling magazines and made a substantial amount of money. Which he invested later on into 40 acres of farmland. He realized that if he wants to grow faster, he needs to get into the business. When he turned 15, he used his savings to buy pinball machines and placed them in barber shops. Within few months he owned 3 different machines and then sold the business for 1200 dollars or over 16 thousand dollars in today's money. Fortunately, he was rejected by Harvard business school because then he applied to Columbia business school, where he met his Mentor, Benjamin Graham. Graham taught him how to win consistently in the stock market without speculations. His method was simple, find undervalued companies, stocks that are priced lower than they actually worth. Buffet quickly realized the potential of this strategy. So he went to work with his mentor at his investment partnership where he mastered his method. When Graham decided to retire, Buffet has already saved up around 150K dollars or 1.5 million dollars in today’s dollars. So, he decided to start his own investment partnership. He applied the same strategy. But in general, he was mainly looking for small companies that are doing just good enough, but still, are undervalued. Such as, Dempster Mill, a windmill manufacturing company which was a struggling business at a time. It was trading at 18 dollars per share. But Buffet realized that company’s assets worth 75 dollars per share. So even if the company goes bankrupt, assets could be sold and he would still make a profit. So over the next couple of years, he kept acquiring Dempster’s Mill shares until he became the majority shareholder. In order to make a good profit from his investment. Buffet changed the management, improved the operations and then sold the company three times higher, than the amount he invested (80 dollars per share). Buffet made multiple similar investments where he made a substantial profit. And in less than 5 years of starting his partnership, the value of his investments grew to millions of dollars. In fact, his personal wealth finally crossed a million dollar. After acquiring Berkshire Hathaway, his approach to investing changed. Instead of focusing on small struggling companies. He started buying more successful companies that are undervalued, such as the American Express. But, what actually brought him up to the top of Forbes list is the insurance business. Buffet realized that Insurance companies work exactly like banks. You regularly pay your premium for example, but only get your money back, if you get into an accident. So insurance’s companies have a constant flow of cash. Which are technically considered liabilities. Exactly like the money you deposit into a bank. Suddenly, Warren Buffet found himself having access to an enormous amount of money which he quickly started investing in the right companies. And in the next few years, his personal net worth crossed a billion dollar. He kept doubling his net worth every few years by investing in some of the most successful companies such as Coca-Cola, Bank of America, GM and so on. Until he became the richest man in the world in 2008. Buffet didn’t achieve that by simply speculating and hoping to win. But rather understood how the stock market works and consistently used the same strategy. The good news is that, you can also learn how the stock market works and certainly be like warren buffet if you put the effort. And for that reason, we have found for you a perfect course on skillshare that will teach you everything you need to know. We can't cover everything here on this channel since our videos are extremely difficult to make. So, by using the link in the description, you will get the course for free for the first 2 month and help this channel. So, give it a try.

The standardization of binary options allows them to be exchange-traded with continuous quotations. Amex offers binary options on some ETFs and a few highly liquid equities such as Citigroup and Google. Amex calls binary options "Fixed Return Options" (FROs); calls are named "Finish High" and puts are named "Finish Low". To reduce the threat of market manipulation of single stocks, Amex FROs use a "settlement index" defined as a volume-weighted average of trades on the expiration day. Amex and Donato A. Montanaro submitted a patent application for exchange-listed binary options using a volume-weighted settlement index in 2005. CBOE offers binary options on the S&P 500 (SPX) and the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX). The tickers for these are BSZ and BVZ, respectively. CBOE only offers calls, as binary put options are trivial to create synthetically from binary call options. BSZ strikes are at 5-point intervals and BVZ strikes are at 1-point intervals. The actual underlying to BSZ and BVZ are based on the opening prices of index basket members. Both Amex and CBOE listed options have values between $0 and $1, with a multiplier of 100, and tick size of $0.01, and are cash settled. In 2009, Nadex, a U.S.-based binary options provider launched binary options on a range of forex, commodities and stock indices markets. Example of a binary options trade A trader who thinks that the EUR/USD price will close at or above 1.2500 at 3:00 p.m. can buy a call option on that outcome. A trader who thinks that the EUR/USD price will close at or below 1.2500 at 3:00 p.m. can buy a put option or sell a call option contract. At 2:00 p.m. the EUR/USD price is 1.2490. The trader believes this will increase, so he buys 10 call options for EUR/USD at or above 1.2500 at 3:00 p.m. at a cost of $40 each. The risk involved in this trade is known. The trader’s gross profit/loss follows the "all or nothing" principle. He can lose all the money he invested, which in this case is $40 x 10 = $400, or receive $100 x 10 = $1,000. If the EUR/USD price will close at or above 1.2500 at 3:00 p.m. the trader's profit will be the payoff at expiry minus the cost of the option: $1,000 – $400 = $600. The trader can also choose to liquidate (buy or sell in order to close) his position prior to expiration, at which point the option value is not guaranteed to be $100. The larger the gap between the spot price and the strike price, the value of the option decreases, as the option is less likely to expire in the money. In this example, at 3:00 p.m. the spot has risen to 1.2505. The option has expired in the money and the gross payoff is $1,000. The trader's net profit is $600.
