Linux Command Line Tutorial For Beginners 22 - useradd command (Creating Users)

07:03
NAME useradd - create a new user or update default new user information SYNOPSIS useradd [options] LOGIN useradd -D useradd -D [options] DESCRIPTION useradd is a low level utility for adding users. On Debian, administrators should usually use adduser(8) instead. When invoked without the -D option, the useradd command creates a new user account using the values specified on the command line plus the default values from the system. Depending on command line options, the useradd command will update system files and may also create the new user's home directory and copy initial files. By default, a group will also be created for the new user (see -g, -N, -U, and USERGROUPS_ENAB). -------------------Online Courses to learn---------------------------- Blockchain Course - http://bit.ly/2Mmzcv0 Big Data Hadoop Course - http://bit.ly/2MV97PL Java - https://bit.ly/2H6wqXk C++ - https://bit.ly/2q8VWl1 AngularJS - https://bit.ly/2qebsLu Python - https://bit.ly/2Eq0VSt C- https://bit.ly/2HfZ6L8 Android - https://bit.ly/2qaRSAS Linux - https://bit.ly/2IwOuqz AWS Certified Solutions Architect - https://bit.ly/2JrGoAF Modern React with Redux - https://bit.ly/2H6wDtA MySQL - https://bit.ly/2qcF63Z ----------------------Follow--------------------------------------------- My Website - http://www.codebind.com My Blog - https://goo.gl/Nd2pFn My Facebook Page - https://goo.gl/eLp2cQ Google+ - https://goo.gl/lvC5FX Twitter - https://twitter.com/ProgrammingKnow Pinterest - https://goo.gl/kCInUp Text Case Converter - https://goo.gl/pVpcwL -------------------------Stuff I use to make videos ------------------- Stuff I use to make videos Windows notebook – http://amzn.to/2zcXPyF Apple MacBook Pro – http://amzn.to/2BTJBZ7 Ubuntu notebook - https://amzn.to/2GE4giY Desktop - http://amzn.to/2zct252 Microphone – http://amzn.to/2zcYbW1 notebook mouse – http://amzn.to/2BVs4Q3 ------------------Facebook Links ---------------------------------------- http://fb.me/ProgrammingKnowledgeLearning/ http://fb.me/AndroidTutorialsForBeginners http://fb.me/Programmingknowledge http://fb.me/CppProgrammingLanguage http://fb.me/JavaTutorialsAndCode http://fb.me/SQLiteTutorial http://fb.me/UbuntuLinuxTutorials http://fb.me/EasyOnlineConverter

Creating Command Line Menus with Shell Scripts

14:09
More videos like this online at http://www.theurbanpenguin.com For some users they will not know how to navigate the Linux CLI and perhaps it is best to provide them with a menu upon login. If we write this menu with a shell script then we can run it from their .bashrc login script using exec [scriptname] to ensure that leaving the script also logs them out. We can use a while loop to ensure the menu is shown after each selection and a case statement to read the users's selection. To ensure users cannot cntrl+c out of the meny we trap the signal so that it is ignored byt he script.

GTA4 - Commandline.txt that fixes Graphics Settings Error

03:10
A file called "commandline.txt" can be helpful if you get the the following error message under Graphics in the GTA 4 menu: Warning: Your graphics settings are near, or exceed, the suggested resource limits for your system. It is recommended that you reduce your graphics settings in order to run the game optimally. The video shows how to install a very simple "commandline.txt". The only content in the file is this: -nomemrestrict -norestrictions You make this simple file yourself and add it to the folder called Grand Theft Auto IV On Windows 8 the folder called Grand Theft Auto IV is here: C:/Program Files (x86)/Rockstar Games/Grand Theft Auto IV It is possible to put more content in the "commandline.txt"-file. See this video for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quK6wTDwLUA It's best to watch this video in HD (1080p). IT SEEMS THIS SOLUTION WORKS ON SOME COMPUTERS BUT NOT ON ALL. (This fix is not recommended if your graphics card is below the minimum requirements for GTA IV.) The song in the background is "Crimson Fly" by Huma-Huma. You can find it in the Youtube Audio Library. IF THE SOLUTION IN THIS VIDEO DOES NOT WORK, try this solution from Rockstar Games support: https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200145206-Issues-with-GTA-IV-showing-video-cards-with-over-2GB-as-under-spec Here is another video about general problems of GTA IV and Windows 8 (Not Steam): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RriTh2FdR4k Problem fixes for GTA IV (Steam) and Windows 8: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KbAGn4JUaA Here is some info for making an advanced commandline: Advanced commandline (use these items to make an advanced commandline) -renderquality: Set the render quality of the game. Git Tutorial for Beginners: Command-Line Fundamentals

Git is the most popular version control system out there and for good reason. In this video, we'll go over the basics of what git is and how to use it within the command-line. There are several GUI tools out there to help you get started with git, but it can be extremely beneficial to learn git from the command-line as early as possible. Some of the images used in this video are from the "Pro Git" book. These are licensed under creative-commons. Customize Command Prompt

06:30
windows command line copy to clipboard windows command line copy output to file In this video we will discuss how to customise command prompt window. You might be wondering why are we talking about customising Command Window in an Angular CLI course. As we know, Angular CLI is a coommand line tool. We run it using the command prompt window. If we know how to customise the command prompt window to suit our needs, then we have better experience using the Angular CLI. If you already know, how to customise the command prompt window, you may skip this video. As far as Angular CLI is concerned, the most useful command I think is, ng --help. When we type this command in the command prompt window and hit enter key, it displays all the Angular CLI commands and the options we can use with these commands. As we scroll up in the command prompt window, notice we are not able to see all the commands and their associated options. To fix this we have to increase the buffer size. To increase the buffer size there are 2 simple steps Step 1 : Right click on the "title bar" of the command window and select "Properties" from the context menu Step 2 : Click on the "Layout" tab and set the "Height" property to 9999 under "Screen Buffer Size" section, and click "OK" With this change in place, execute that same command ng --help. Notice now we can see all the commands and their associated options. There is lot of help text displayed on the screen. If you want to find a specific command you can use the search feature of the command window. To use the search feature, right click on the "title bar" of the command window and select "Edit" from the context menu. You can then use the "Find" window to search for the command you are looking for. To redirect the output of ng --help command to the windows clipboard, use the CLIP command as shown below. ng --help | clip Once you have the output copied in the clipboard you can paste it anywhere you want it. For example in a notepad, word document etc. You can also redirect the output directly to a text document using the following command. This command creates a text document with name MyTextDoc.txt in the folder where you have executed the command. This text documents will have the output of the command ng --help. ng --help ]MyTextDoc.txt Similarly you can also redirect the output to a word document. ng --help ]MyWordDoc.doc From the properties window of the command prompt you can also change the cursor size, font size, font colour and background colour. In our next video we will discuss all the options we can use with the Angular CLI's "ng new" command Text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2017/09/customize-command-prompt.html Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2017/09/customize-command-slides.html Angular CLI Tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJ9o4TyhSuo&list=PL6n9fhu94yhWUcq5Pc16uf8YKXoZ87Vh_ Angular CLI Text articles & Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2017/10/angular-cli-tutorial-for-beginners.html All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in English https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?view=1&sort=dd All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in Arabic https://www.youtube.com/c/KudvenkatArabic/playlists

Java Set-up: Add Java to Path Environment Variable & Java Command Line

03:07
Java programs have to be compiled before they can be run. If you’re using an IDE like Eclipse or Netbeans you might not need to do this. But if you’re having trouble compiling java from the command line, here’s how to fix it. -Open Control Panel, then System -"Advanced System Settings" -"Environment variables" -Add a new "System Variable" -Name it (e.g. "0java"). The "Value" is to the installation location of the Java Development Kit -Something like C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_71 ---That’s for Java 8, update 71 (for some reason Java likes to add a 1. before the actual version number. So Java 1.8 is really Java version 8 and 1.7 would be version 7) -Now edit the "path" system variable. -Click new, then type %VARIABLE_NAME%\bin ---My example would be %0java%\bin -Close and reopen command prompt and now the javac command should work TO COMPILE & RUN: -Find your .java source file in command prompt -type "javac" then the name of the file: "javac MyProgram.java" -Then "java" then the class name with no extension: "java MyProgram" More Details on Java_Home http://www.mkyong.com/java/how-to-set-java_home-on-windows-10/ Running Java from command line http://introcs.cs.princeton.edu/java/15inout/windows-cmd.html Download jdk http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html

Linux Essentials L02.1 Command Line Basics

If you are serious about gaining your Linux Essentials certification you can gain a heavily discounted price to my Linux Essentials course via this link: https://www.udemy.com/learning-linux-essentials-taking-your-first-steps-in-linux/?couponCode=youtube-video More videos like this online at http://www.theurbanpenguin.com In this video we take a look at the Linux command line basics and starting to get used to using the CLI, command line interface that Linux uses. Just as many Windows users never use the command line; the same may be said of Linux users. However, even in Windows we are seeing the evolutions from GUI to command line taking greater effect with PowerShell 3. being able to do things repeatably correct from the command line is alsways going to have its importance in any OS. If you would like to work with Linux servers the command line has to be mastered and we can begin right here , right now. Looking just at the basics we will see how we can open a shell and exit with the exit command or Ctrl + D. We can see how easy it to adjust font size with Ctrl + Shift + + and reduce with Ctrl + -, to clear the screen it is Ctrl + L. We can see how to use commands and space out the arguments and options from commands. All of out commands we type are stored in a history file, .bash_history so they persist even after reboots. Of course variables come into play to store information about our session, when reading variables they are prefixed with a $ symbol. Typing $ followed by tab tab in quick succession will list all variables as will the env command; additionally the enc command displaying their values. As we have seen spacing out options will make them seem as two options ; this means that we can create two directories wiht he one command: mkdir dir1 dir2; but should we want a space in the directory name we can use quotes or the \ (backslash) character. The video will demonstrate the usage. Finally we will look at ANDing and ORing command together to allow for some simple command line flow control. The video is just under 30 minutes; however I think you will find it really worthwhile and hopefully entertaining

NAME ifconfig - configure a network interface SYNOPSIS ifconfig [-v] [-a] [-s] [interface] ifconfig [-v] interface [aftype] options | address ... DESCRIPTION Ifconfig is used to configure the kernel-resident network interfaces. It is used at boot time to set up interfaces as necessary. After that, it is usually only needed when debugging or when system tuning is needed. If no arguments are given, ifconfig displays the status of the cur‐ rently active interfaces. If a single interface argument is given, it displays the status of the given interface only; if a single -a argu‐ ment is given, it displays the status of all interfaces, even those that are down. Otherwise, it configures an interface. Address Families If the first argument after the interface name is recognized as the name of a supported address family, that address family is used for decoding and displaying all protocol addresses. Currently supported address families include inet (TCP/IP, default), inet6 (IPv6), ax25 (AMPR Packet Radio), ddp (Appletalk Phase 2), ipx (Novell IPX) and netrom (AMPR Packet radio). -------------------Online Courses to learn---------------------------- Blockchain Course - http://bit.ly/2Mmzcv0 Big Data Hadoop Course - http://bit.ly/2MV97PL Java - https://bit.ly/2H6wqXk C++ - https://bit.ly/2q8VWl1 AngularJS - https://bit.ly/2qebsLu Python - https://bit.ly/2Eq0VSt C- https://bit.ly/2HfZ6L8 Android - https://bit.ly/2qaRSAS Linux - https://bit.ly/2IwOuqz AWS Certified Solutions Architect - https://bit.ly/2JrGoAF Modern React with Redux - https://bit.ly/2H6wDtA MySQL - https://bit.ly/2qcF63Z ----------------------Follow--------------------------------------------- My Website - http://www.codebind.com My Blog - https://goo.gl/Nd2pFn My Facebook Page - https://goo.gl/eLp2cQ Google+ - https://goo.gl/lvC5FX Twitter - https://twitter.com/ProgrammingKnow Pinterest - https://goo.gl/kCInUp Text Case Converter - https://goo.gl/pVpcwL -------------------------Stuff I use to make videos ------------------- Stuff I use to make videos Windows notebook – http://amzn.to/2zcXPyF Apple MacBook Pro – http://amzn.to/2BTJBZ7 Ubuntu notebook - https://amzn.to/2GE4giY Desktop - http://amzn.to/2zct252 Microphone – http://amzn.to/2zcYbW1 notebook mouse – http://amzn.to/2BVs4Q3 ------------------Facebook Links ---------------------------------------- http://fb.me/ProgrammingKnowledgeLearning/ http://fb.me/AndroidTutorialsForBeginners http://fb.me/Programmingknowledge http://fb.me/CppProgrammingLanguage http://fb.me/JavaTutorialsAndCode http://fb.me/SQLiteTutorial http://fb.me/UbuntuLinuxTutorials http://fb.me/EasyOnlineConverter
