Free £10,000 Online Trading Demo Platform: https://www.accendomarkets.com/online-trading/ We’re going to look at the Bloomberg Terminal https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloomberg_Terminal Bloomberg provides financial software tools such as analytics, data services and news to all manner of companies and organisations the world over via the Bloomberg Terminal, which is what we’re looking at now. The Bloomberg terminal is a virtually bottomless pit of information covering a wide range of financial products. Accendo Markets uses it mainly for UK listed equities, and so we’re going to have look at the most important functions in that arena. So first of all we’ll search for a company in the top left hand corner, here. If you know the ticker symbol you can type that in, but remember that sometimes different information providers use slightly different tickers. Unless you’re sure what the BBG ticker is, it’s better to type the company name. Let’s use Barclays as an example, so I’ll start typing Barclays into the search box. Usually a dropdown menu then appears with all the terms that contain Barclays. We need to select BARC LN EQUITY which is Barclays’ UK listing. In fact any UK listed stock will be displayed in this way, so once you’re familiar with the ticker symbols you can simply enter BARC LN EQUITY and it’ll take you directly to the analysis menu. Now there are a lot of options here, but we’ll go through the 3 most used and see how you can share all of this information with colleagues. Those are: Security Description, Company News, Analyst Recommendations. Then I’ll go through how to export / share this information with your colleagues. Security description: General overview of the stock with a brief description, a chart, share price, performance since prior day’s close, 52wk hi, 52wk lo, YTD change. Company news: For most up to date news stories on the stock. Also, the day before a company reports results, an earnings preview will appear in the news feed here. Analyst recommendations: To find out how the brokers are rating the stock you’re interested in – consensus rating, average 12-mnth target price, details. Risk Warnings: Between 74-89% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. You should consider whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.

Michael Bloomberg (born February 14, 1942) is an American business magnate, politician and philanthropist. He served as the 108th Mayor of New York City, holding office for three consecutive terms beginning with his first election in 2001. About the book: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0471208884/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=0471208884&linkCode=as2&tag=doc06-20&linkId=00dee494d50274029ffeb9c876bdf72e With a net worth of $34 billion, he is the eleventh-richest person in the United States and the sixteenth-wealthiest in the world. He is the founder and 88% owner of Bloomberg L.P., the global financial data and media company notable for its Bloomberg Terminal. Bloomberg began his career at the securities brokerage Salomon Brothers before forming his company in 1981 and spending the next twenty years as its chairman and CEO. He also served as chairman of the board of trustees at his alma mater Johns Hopkins University from 1996 to 2002. A Democrat before seeking elective office, Bloomberg switched his party registration in 2001 to run for mayor as a Republican. He defeated opponent Mark Green in a close election held just weeks after the September 11 terrorist attacks. Bloomberg won a second term in 2005 and left the Republican Party two years later. He campaigned to weaken the city's term limits law and was elected to his third term in 2009 as an independent candidate on the Republican ballot line. He was frequently mentioned as a possible candidate for the U.S. presidential elections in 2008 and 2012, and for New York Governor in 2010. He declined to seek either office, instead opting to continue serving as Mayor of New York. On January 1, 2014, Bill de Blasio succeeded Bloomberg as mayor of New York City. On January 31, 2014, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced that he had appointed Mr. Bloomberg as his Special Envoy for Cities and Climate Change, assisting him in consultations with mayors and related key stakeholders to raise political will and mobilize action among cities as part of a long-term strategy to advance efforts on climate change. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Bloomberg Bloomberg L.P. is a privately held financial software, data and media company headquartered in New York City. Bloomberg L.P. was founded by Michael Bloomberg in 1981 with the help of Thomas Secunda, Duncan MacMillan, Charles Zegar and a 30% ownership investment by Merrill Lynch. Bloomberg L.P. provides financial software tools such as an analytics and equity trading platform, data services and news to financial companies and organizations through the Bloomberg terminal (via its Bloomberg Professional Service), its core money-generating product. Bloomberg L.P. also includes a wire service (Bloomberg News), a global television network (Bloomberg Television), a radio station (WBBR), websites, subscription-only newsletters and three magazines: Bloomberg Businessweek, Bloomberg Markets and "Bloomberg Pursuit". In 1981, Salomon Brothers was acquired, and Michael Bloomberg, a general partner, was given a $10 million partnership settlement. Bloomberg, having designed in-house computerized financial systems for Salomon, used his $10 million severance check to start Innovative Market Systems (IMS). Bloomberg developed and built his own computerized system to provide real-time market data, financial calculations and other financial analytics to Wall Street firms. In 1983, Merrill Lynch invested $30 million in IMS to help finance the development of "the Bloomberg" terminal computer system and by 1984, IMS was selling machines to all of Merrill Lynch's clients. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloomberg_L.P. A name synonymous with politics and finance is that of Michael Bloomberg who is best known as the Mayor of New York. During his tenure as mayor, from 2002 through 2013, Bloomberg brought his innovation-driven approach to city government. He turned around a broken public school system by raising standards and holding schools accountable for success. He spurred economic growth and job creation by revitalizing old industrial areas, spurring entrepreneurship, supporting small businesses, and strengthening key industries, including new media, film and television, bio-science, technology, and tourism. Mayor Bloomberg’s economic policies helped New York City experience record-levels of private-sector job growth often in formerly depressed neighborhoods. Most people do not connect Mr Bloomberg with the business named after him. Born in Boston on February 14, 1942 and raised in a middle class home in Medford, Massachusetts, Michael Bloomberg attended Johns Hopkins University, where he paid his tuition by taking out loans and working as a parking lot attendant. After college, he attended Harvard Business School and in 1966 was hired by a Wall Street firm, Salomon Brothers, for an entry-level job. Bloomberg quickly rose through the ranks at Salomon, overseeing equity trading and sales before heading up the firm's information systems. When Salomon was acquired in 1981, he was let go from the firm. With a vision of an information technology company that would bring transparency and efficiency to the buying and selling of financial securities, he launched a small startup in a one room office. Today, Bloomberg LP is a global company that has more than 15,000 employees and offices in 73 countries around the world. Bloomberg is net worth is $36.2 billion making him the 23rd most powerful people in the world. Mike Bloomberg returned to the helm of his namesake company. With an 88% stake in Bloomberg LP, the former mayor of New York is back at a firm that is both dramatically larger and into several other businesses than when he left it: with annual revenues that will top $9 billion in 2014. Bloomberg remains an avid philanthropist, having given $3.3 billion in his lifetime, including $100 million to the Gates Foundation to help eradicate polio. In 2013 his annual giving reached $450 million, as he supported anti-gun programs in the U.S. By Barry Norman, Investors Trading Academy

Complete biography: http://celebritynetworth.wiki/michael-bloomberg-net-worth/ American businessman and entrepreneur, politician, as well as a philanthropist Michael Rubens Bloomberg, was born on 14 February 1942, in Boston, Massachusetts USA, of part Jewish-Russian descent, and is probably best known as a former Mayor of New York City, a position he held from when he won his first election in 2002, until 2013. So just how rich is Michael Bloomberg? According to celebrity dot money, Michael’s net worth is estimated to be 53 billion dollars as of mid-2017. Undoubtedly, most of Bloomberg’s wealth has come from his business ventures, but which also ranks him as the richest US politician. Michael Bloomberg’s family moved frequently when he was a child, until they finally settled in the Medford suburb of Boston. Bloomberg attended Johns Hopkins University, from which he graduated with a degree in engineering in 1964, and then continued his studies at Harvard Business School, where he earned a Master of Business Administration degree in 1966. Bloomberg worked his way up steadily in the world of finance in the late 1960s, and became partnered with the investment bank Salomon Brothers in 1973, where he was the manager of systems development, including equity trading. However, Bloomberg was made redundant as the bank was purchased by the Phibro Corporation in 1981, at which point Bloomberg decided to establish his own company, Innovative Market Systems, and by 1982 it had its first clients, one of which was a division of the Bank of America called Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. Merrill Lynch also made its first contribution to the company shortly afterwards, as it invested approximately 30 million dollars in the Innovative Market Systems. Bloomberg already had a good basis to his net worth, and his own company certainly helped his wealth to rise. The company eventually became Bloomberg LP, and over the years the company has expanded significantly and established well over 300,000 terminal investors all around the world at the latest count. However, after establishing himself as a successful businessman, Bloomberg ventured into politics, and won his very first election for the position of the Mayor of New York City in 2002, on a platform that the city needed a person with proven business success to run it. Although he vacillated somewhat by having been a Democrat all his life but running on a Republican ticket - although unsurprisingly later declaring himself 'independent' - he was elected, and was eventually so successful that he was often mentioned as a possible Governor of the state, and even as a presidential candidate, but he went on to be re-elected twice as Mayor, in 2005 and 2009, and was ultimately assessed as one of the most able Mayors ever to hold the position. When he ended his term in 2013, Michael Bloomberg devoted himself full-time to his contributions to philanthropy, but in 2014 decided to return to his company, which nevertheless had done very well during his Mayoral term. His acumen in business and politics has been acknowledged with a Gold Medal from The Hundred Year Association of New York, an honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from Harvard University, and most impressively the honorary title of Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire , which was given to him by Queen Elizabeth II, a very rare honour for a non-British or Commonwealth subject. In his personal life, Michael Bloomberg was married to Briton Susan Brown from 1975-93, and they have two daughters. Since 2000, Bloomberg has been in a relationship with Diana Taylor, a New York banking superintendent. Michael Bloomberg still devotes a lot of his time, and his wealth, to various charitable causes. Bloomberg established the Bloomberg’s Philanthropies Foundation, through which he has helped such organizations as World Health Organization, World Lung Foundation, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention among many others. As an example, in 2009 Bloomberg is known to have donated as much as 254 million dollars to numerous non-profit organizations.

http://www.elliottwave.com/s.asp?url=/&cn=yt Watch Robert Prechter on Bloomberg TV on the 20th anniversary of the 1987 stock market crash predict what is unfolding before our eyes today. An uncannily accurate forecast from the man that forecast the 1987 stock market crash. Why would anyone think that the Fed's actions have any influence whatsoever on the trend in the stock market? The Fed has similarly cut the discount rate twice in recent months, and on all occasions (Sept. 18, Oct. 31, Jan. 22, Jan. 30) the stock market immediately rallied... only to see prices give back those gains and more, within a few short days or weeks. Mind you, these are recent and relatively minor instances. There are longer-term examples that unfolded for years, such as the Fed's historic campaign in 2001-2002 that saw a DOZEN rate cuts, during which time the S&P 500 lost HALF of its value. More dramatic still was the Bank of Japan's campaign that took rates to virtually ZERO for entire decade, even as their Nikkei stock index declined and/or languished over the entire period. There's nothing new about this information -- we've spelled it all out before, as recently as Bob Prechter's Nov. 27 and Jan. 24 appearances on Bloomberg television. Watch Prechter on Nov. 27: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJnMia2rARI With charts and facts, Bob showed how powerless the Fed really is; he also reminded the audience that "People should be careful of what they wish for when they ask for lower rates." Yes, the financial establishment labels Bob Prechter a contrarian. But, what does it say about that establishment's state of mind when arguments based on facts and evidence make a person "contrary"? All the charts Bob included in that interview -- in fact, everything he said at the time and more -- is in the current Elliott Wave Theorist and Elliott Wave Financial Forecast. Apple and Amazon.com are strongly denying a Bloomberg Businessweek report that said their systems had been infiltrated by malicious computer chips inserted by Chinese intelligence agents. Bloomberg cited 17 unidentified sources from intelligence agencies and business to support claims that Chinese spies had placed microchips inside equipment used by about 30 companies and multiple US government agencies. The article published Thursday said the practice would give Beijing access to internal networks. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement about protecting cybersecurity, which was published by Bloomberg. But it is not clear whether the statement was in direct response to the report. Beijing has previously denied allegations of orchestrating cyber attacks against Western companies. A little less than half a century ago, a pair of NASA astronauts packed up their geological samples after three days of roving and returned to Earth in the Apollo 17 lunar module. It was the last time that a human walked on the moon. Now the world’s wealthiest man, Amazon.com Inc. Chief Executive Officer Jeff Bezos, and the other company he founded, Blue Origin LLC, want to chart the next chapter in humanity’s exploration of its tiny orbiting sibling. At a press conference in Washington, D.C. on Thursday afternoon, Bezos made his case for going back to the moon and showed off his private space company’s lunar lander. “It’s time to go back to the moon, this time to stay,” Bezos said. On stage at the event, Bezos dropped the curtain behind him to reveal Blue Origin’s Blue Moon lander. The craft features a large internal spherical fuel tank and sits atop four landing pads. It’s powered by liquid hydrogen, in part so it can be refuel from ice water on the moon’s poles. Hydrogen fuel cells will power the device through the lunar night. “This is an incredible vehicle,” Bezos said, “and it’s going to the moon.” Bezos also showed off a new BE-7 engine, a high-performance liquid hydrogen/liquid oxygen engine that powers the lander’s six minute descent. After it lands, Blue Moon will deploy a small rover. Bezos also displayed a photo of a version of the lander that can accommodate astronauts, and said he hopes missions can commence by 2024. Blue Origin has been working on Blue Moon since at least 2017. Last October, the company signed an agreement with NASA to develop medium to large commercial lander systems for the lunar surface. In exchange for $50,000 payment from Blue, NASA agreed to share technical analysis and information on potential lunar landing sites. In a March speech, Vice President Mike Pence called for a return to the moon by 2024 and said the Trump administration had directed NASA to “accomplish this goal by any means necessary.” Bezos has been at odds with President Donald Trump over a number of issues related to Amazon. But he said of the Trump administration’s timetable to return to the moon: “I love this. It’s the right thing to do.” The moon has always been central to Bezos’s space-faring dreams, as well as the vision of his former professor, the late Princeton physicist Gerard O’Neill. O’Neill, an iconoclast who passed away in 1992, envisioned a future with millions of humans living in space inside giant orbiting space cylinders, growing crops and harnessing the energy of the sun. The physicist theorized that the moon, a repository of raw materials and free of the atmosphere and punitive gravitational forces of the Earth, could be the staging ground to construct and economically launch such habitats. This November, Nevadans will be asked to vote on one of the most restrictive gun control measures the Silver State has ever seen. The initiative, if passed, would result in virtually every transfer of a firearm in Nevada being subjected to federal record keeping and a background check. The initiative does nothing to stop criminals or address the broken mental health system, but rather creates a massive regulatory scheme that disproportionately impacts law-abiding gun owners. Welcome to a Python for Finance tutorial series. In this series, we're going to run through the basics of importing financial (stock) data into Python using the Pandas framework. From here, we'll manipulate the data and attempt to come up with some sort of system for investing in companies, apply some machine learning, even some deep learning, and then learn how to back-test a strategy. I assume you know the fundamentals of Python. If you're not sure if that's you, click the fundamentals link, look at some of the topics in the series, and make a judgement call. If at any point you are stuck in this series or confused on a topic or concept, feel free to ask for help and I will do my best to help. https://pythonprogramming.net https://twitter.com/sentdex https://www.facebook.com/pythonprogramming.net/ https://plus.google.com/+sentdex
