★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Justin, and he recently bought a new cell phone. Nothing unusual, you might think, but for him this purchase was very special, and here’s why. Around a year ago Justin’s dad was promoted at work, and they had to move to another city. His family’s new income brought a new social status for all of them, and his parents decided that the first thing to do was to send Justin to a new and better school. Together, they chose one that corresponded to their plans for his future education. It was a boarding school for boys, mostly from wealthy families, but he was actually okay with that. Meeting new people didn’t actually bother him. It was interesting to hang out with his classmates, and since they all wore the same uniform, it didn't seem like they were all that much different from each other. Except for one thing – practically all of them had a bunch of interesting stories to tell about places they'd already visited and tons of photos of their lives stored on their latest iPhones. Whereas he’d never been outside of his hometown up to that point, and his phone was about three years old. Did he envy them, you might ask? You bet he did! He figured out the perfect solution to his problem by asking his parents to buy him a new phone. He thought that if he could just explain to them how important it was for him to have something like the iPhone X in order to be more like his classmates, then they'd meet him halfway, especially taking into account his dad's higher salary. So, when he came home for the holidays, he kindly hinted that it would be perfect for them to give him something nice and fancy, since he’d done pretty well in his studies. But despite the fact that they now had a lot more money and that he’d been on his best behavior, they refused. They said that the gadget he was asking for was too expensive to just go out and buy for no actual reason, especially since his old phone still worked perfectly well. He tried to persuade them at first, but they wouldn't budge. Justin was disappointed and even mad at his parents, and he kept thinking the situation over while looking through his friends’ photos on Facebook later that night. Suddenly he came across a photo that showed his classmate Richard with a miserable look on his face, holding a broken laptop in his hands. “I guess somebody’s now in big trouble…” the caption said. Suddenly, he had an idea – what if his phone was really broken? His parents wouldn’t let their only son be without any source of communication. In order to not arouse any suspicions, he waited a while, and about a week after their talk about the iPhone X, he deliberately dunked his dependable “5S” under water. Oh, you should have seen how emotional he was as he told the story to his parents about how it all happened! He thought he did great, almost like a real actor. But his dad, apparently, saw right through his deception. He said that he was sorry, but he still wasn’t going to give Justin any money to buy a new phone. He was upset that his cunning plan hadn’t worked out, and that his hopes for a new phone had sunk along with his old one. In fact, he was devastated. Now he had neither a new cell phone nor his old one anymore. But he felt like an even a bigger loser when his mom kindly lent him her phone, which was not only pink, but was so ancient that it didn't even have an internet connection. And it had actual buttons, instead of a touch screen. He now understood how stupid he was for destroying his phone on purpose, and decided to confess. His dad said that what he did was really stupid. However, the fact that he had admitted it gave him an easy win. He promised to help, and told him about a 3-week temporary job offer at his office. The only thing he needed to do there was to catalogue an archive, and he’d be generously paid for it. The thought of having extra money, and finally being able to buy himself his own iPhone X, inspired him during the whole three weeks of work. And it wasn’t hard at all. Sure, it was boring, but he handled it easily enough and received his hard-earned…300 bucks!? This was what his dad had meant by “generously paid”? He couldn’t believe it, he felt so betrayed. It made him furious at his parents again. But this time they also got mad. His mom said that he was no longer a little boy but almost a grown-up man, and that it was time for him to take responsibility for his own actions. And his dad told him that whoever judges people by their cell phones can neither be a good person nor a real friend. And as if this wasn’t enough, his parents cut off his allowance. So, this time he really had to figure out his money problems on his own. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened

I Know How To Make Lots Of Money When You Are 12

★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Alan! You know what’s cooler than having a ton of money? Knowing how to make even more. And Alan knows how! You probably straight away think that he must be full of himself, so let him tell you his story. He’s 17 now, but this all happened when he was 12. So, Alan’s family is not very well off. They’re so poor that he wore the same shoes for an entire year, no matter whether it was raining or snowing. But those were good shoes; like, very durable ones. Like, they were the Iron Man of shoes – nothing could destroy them. They were much better than his brother’s, which made his feet hurt sometimes. But still, Alan’s shoes were veeery ugly, and he really wanted new ones. He dreamed of getting these sneakers that he’d seen once in a store. You may think that this was shallow – but remember that he was only 12 at the time. And in any case there was no way he could act on his wish to buy those shoes. He didn’t have any money! So you might think that he eventually gave up on the idea...but nope, not really. He started thinking that if he could just find a way of somehow making money, he could buy those shoes. And they weren’t cheap… His dad was always saying that he should study harder than he himself had, so that he could have a better life, and both Alan and his younger brother really took that advice to heart. He was a really diligent student and spent so much time studying. He got good grades but had no money, whereas plenty of his classmates got bad grades but had a lot of money. So Alan made them an offer – he would do their homework in exchange for money. Not a lot of money, but enough to save up and buy those sneakers after a couple of months. It was a pretty easy task for him, because basically, all he had to do was copy out his homework for them, changing it just a little so that nobody would know. He even had different prices for As, Bs, and other grades. And he also helped the older kids a little with some of their subjects – not like, math, but literature and history. Alan’s scheme went great at first, but then almost everybody stopped paying. He wondered why, and it turned out that they had made one guy pay and then copied his homework. He had to find a way to fix this, so he told them that if they were going do that, he would have to raise the price. They didn’t like that, but they also didn’t want to do their own homework, so they agreed and everything went back to normal. But then one of the guys wasn’t happy about it, and he actually revealed everything to the teacher. The teacher was very angry with Alan, and warned him that he had to stop doing it or else he and the other guys would have a lot of problems. So, he had to stop...but he still hadn't saved up enough to buy the sneakers he wanted. So of course, he came up with a new plan. Because many of the older kids now knew who he was, and their teachers didn’t know about his tricks, he asked them to give him cool stuff in exchange for their homework. You know – like toys, action figures, simple gadgets. He would then start playing with them in class, making it look like he was having a lot of fun. To be honest, it WAS fun. And, if someone asked him if they could play with something, he would say no, which made them want it more and more. Then at some point he would rent it to them or even sell it. Soon, he was buying stuff from the older kids and selling it for more money, instead of doing their homework. But of course, sooner or later their parents started to notice, and the teacher got angry with him again, saying that he was abusing the other children and it wasn’t okay. He disagreed, because they were very happy with all of it and henever like, forced them to buy anything. Eventually, he finally had enough money to buy the sneakers he had dreamed of for so long. So Alan bought them and went home. Finally, all his hard work had paid off, and even if he had found himself in a lot of trouble, he still ended up with what he wanted. Then he saw his brother’s shoes – they were in a way worse state than his, and he remembered how many times his brother had told him how much his feet hurt, and he was constantly sick because his shoes had a lot of holes in them and got wet every time he stepped in a puddle. So he gave the sneakers to his brother, and he was so happy and surprised. Honestly, it was much better to see his brother happy than to keep them for himself. His parents were angry at him at first, because they thought he had stolen them, but he then explained how he got them. And then they were proud of him because they thought he had done it all for his brother. He didn’t tell them that it had originally all been for himself, though. My Mom Left Me In The Airport When I Was 3 And I've Never Seen Her Since

★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hello, guys! My name is Mathew, for now, though I used to have another name until I was three. As well as another last name, another home, and... another mother. How did this happen to me? Let me tell you. I vaguely remember my early childhood. I was adopted, when I was very little. But I remember the day that I got lost, the day when my mother left me. I was very happy that morning, because my mom said we were going to Disney World on a big plane. I was so excited! When we got to the airport my mother placed a little suitcase on the floor and sat me on it. She said she would be back in a minute. But that minute lasted for ages. I was sitting there, squeezing my little red backpack with my eyes filling up with tears. I am not sure how much time passed, but soon I found myself surrounded by a lot of people, police officers, airport workers... and they were all asking me questions. But I couldn't remember my mother's name or even my own. I couldn't even speak properly at that time, to be honest. And in addition to that, I was stunned and shocked. I also didn't know where I lived, so, I wasn't much of a help to the police, who were trying hard to find my family. They checked the suitcase and my backpack and found a note, which said: "Take care of him." with no name or address on it. Time went on, but it seemed like nobody was looking for me, and my mother was gone and was never found. The airport workers tried to follow her with the cameras, but she just vanished without a trace. After the police lost any hope of finding my relatives, I was adopted by a very nice family. I got another name and a new home. My new parents gave me all their love and tried to do their best to help me to forget that horrible day at the airport. It's been eleven years now, which have been absolutely happy and I grew up to be a totally normal kid. Of course, gloomy memories hit me from time to time and that painful question: 'Why?' was a constant question in my mind, until I finally found out the answer. My new mom and dad are pretty rich and busy people, and since we live in a big house, we've always had maids. We had a wonderful maid, Mrs. Ally, for many years, but she left us a while ago because she moved back to where she was from. I was very upset about it, because we were really close. She was the one I used to spend my time with when my parents were at work. My parents placed an ad on the internet, and we got a call that very day. The next morning a very nice young woman appeared at the front door. I liked her at first sight. Her smile was so charming and it seemed like I'd known her for ages. Though when she talked to me, it seemed like she was a little bit nervous and uncomfortable the whole time. She came to clean the house every day and soon after we became good friends. She didn't tell me much about herself, but she always complained that her life was not a bed of roses and that she was always out of money. Once she came up to me and asked if I could lend her some money because she had gotten into trouble. She looked so embarrassed that I got really worried for her and gave her my pocket money. Shortly after that she asked me for money again, and again, to the point that after a little while of this, I had nothing left. So when she asked me to do her a favor again, I offered to talk to my parents, because I believed they would not refuse to help a poor woman that was in trouble. I was telling her how kind and generous my mother was, when suddenly she burst into tears and cried out: "I am your mother!" I got choked up. I literally could not believe my ears. She told me how much she loved and missed me and that she knew I was adopted and continued to watch me all those years, but didn't have the courage to reveal herself. She said that she was so young and stupid and was not capable of raising a child. I think she said she was sorry more than a million times. These words immediately brought all my memories back. I became the same three year old boy, squeezing his red backpack and waiting for his mom. She hugged me tightly and said she would never ever leave me again and that she had come up with a great plan. She said we could start all over again and leave together, but we needed money for living. She suddenly became very strict and serious. She said: "You have to steal your father's credit card and find out the password. We will take the money and run and have a happy life together, Rob!" It turned out that my real name was Rob. School doesn't teach you about money so in this video we will tell you the rules the rich follow and how they view their real estate investing deals. We share what the rich focus on when they find properties to invest in and the major considerations they focus on. You can invest in real estate without your own money. This is the beauty of real estate. Best known as the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad—the #1 personal finance book of all time—Robert Kiyosaki has challenged and changed the way tens of millions of people around the world think about money. He is an entrepreneur, educator, and investor who believes that each of us has the power to makes changes in our lives, take control of our financial future, and live the rich life we deserve. With perspectives on money and investing that often contradict conventional wisdom, Robert has earned an international reputation for straight talk, irreverence, and courage and has become a passionate and outspoken advocate for financial education. How To Build Wealth With No Money

14:06
Lets break away from some of the common, cookie cutting information out there telling you how to build your wealth with no money…here’s my advice, enjoy! Add me on Instagram: GPStephan The YouTube Creator Academy: Learn EXACTLY how to get your first 1000 subscribers on YouTube, rank videos on the front page of searches, grow your following, and turn that into another income source: https://bit.ly/2STxofv $100 OFF WITH CODE 100OFF (Limited Time Only) Merch: http://www.GrahamStephanStore.com/ First: Be VERY careful who you listen to and who you take advice from. There are a lot of people out there who are totally broke, who have no clue what they’re talking about, but who LOVE to give financial advice at any chance they get. Listen to people who are where you want to be. THOSE are the people who have done what you want to do, and chances are, THAT is the advice you should follow. Second: You GOTTA make money. I If your goal is to build wealth FAST, you aren’t going to get there by making money with a traditional job, unless that job is going to pay you some exorbitant amount right off the bat. Pick a career or a business that ISN’T dependent on how many hours you work. Third: Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself. It doesn’t NEED to cost you money, you can invest in yourself for free if you want to. There are SO MANY videos on YouTube for you to learn from, and you can pretty much learn whatever you want to by just googling how to do something. But I also recommend investing in yourself in the sense that you’ll actually go and USE these things that you learn, and by practicing them firsthand, you’ll eventually get good at them. Fourth: Minimize your tax bill -Minimize your taxes with a 401k Contribution -Re-Invest back into your business so you show the IRS less NET income that you’re taxed on -Learn how the tax code works and HIRE THE BEST CPA YOU CAN. -That CPA might set you up with an LLC taxed as an S-Corp, or a straight up S-Corp that becomes the entity you run your business from. -Consider buying items that you can depreciate, too. Moral of the story: The more you make, the less of your money you keep…so you MUST learn how to keep your money, or at least HIRE someone who can do this for you. This is REQUIRED. LEARN TAXES. Fifth: Save Money First, housing. This is by far our biggest expense. Look into what’s called “House hacking.” This is where you buy a 2-4 unit property, you live in one of the units, and you rent out the others. This is what I do, and it means I can pretty much live here in Los Angeles ENTIRELY for free. If buying a property isn’t in the cards for you, just consider living with a room mate. Second, your car is another big expense… This is where it gets a little more nuanced depending on your situation, but if you’re running a business where people don’t see or care what car you drive…go for a 5-7 year old car that’s already taken most of its depreciation, that’s reliable, and that’s good on gas. Learn how to car hack here: https://youtu.be/gyJga_kAt_U Another great money-saving trick I use is to NOT buy anything without first sleeping on it, or waiting a few days. Most of the time, those impulse purchases go away after one night…and you realize you didn’t really want it that badly to begin with. Finally, AUTOMATE YOUR SAVINGS. Make sure to put a set amount aside every single month no matter what happens. The funny thing is that even though it might seem like a lot of money to go without all of a sudden, you usually just find a way to make it work, anyway, until you don’t even realize you’ve cut back your budget. Paying yourself is a MUST, so get in the habit of always doing this. When it comes to this, I also recommend tracking your spending - this is fairly self explanatory, I won’t go into too much detail on this, but use a site like Mint.com or Personal Capital that’ll track everything you spend, so you can see where you’re blowing money on random stuff. AND FINALLY…JUST INVEST YOUR MONEY in something OTHER than your business, in something that you intend to keep a very long time that will constantly pay you. When it comes to me, I like index funds and real estate - that’s pretty much all I do. How To Make Money on Youtube Without Making Videos (Easy in 2019)

Learn How To Make Money On YouTube Without Making Videos! 👉 Subscribe: http://www.caffeinatedblogger.com/subscribe In this video I will show you an easy way to make money on YouTube in 2019, even without creating your own videos. 👉 Learn how to become a Full-Time Blogger and Affiliate Marketer: http://bit.ly/afftraininggreg If you want to make money on YouTube, you will ❤️ this video. It's beginner friendly, because this method doesn't even require you to create your own original videos, so it's super-easy. This is perfect for someone who wants to get started on YouTube and build a big profitable channel. -------------- 👉 Subscribe to my Channel: http://www.caffeinatedblogger.com/subscribe 👉 Get my free course on how to make money online: http://caffeinatedblogger.com/pinterest/ -------------- So, how exactly do you make money on YouTube? There are lots of different ways of course - but usually people who are new to online marketing are worried about creating videos, and about having their face on camera. Well, turns out that there are ways to make money on YouTube without even creating your own videos. You can use what's called "Creative Commons" videos, and compile them into your own videos. A "Creative Commons" Licence means that you can take a video, download it, edit it, and use as your own to then upload to your own channel. So the power of it is that you can simply find videos with Creative Commons licences, and then combine a few of them, put your own spin on them, add your own unique twists, and then upload that combined footage as your own onto your own channel. This way, you can make money without filmig your own footage and without being on camera. WARNING: I do want to warn you - simply downloading someone's video (even with the Creative Commons licence) and uploading it to your channel without changing anything is not a good idea. This will create duplicate content. and might not give you much traffic / views on YouTube. You might also have trouble monetizing this content when YouTube review your channel. You NEED to edit the content and change it up. So, the best approach would be: 1. Decide on the video idea (such as "20 Amazing Relaxing Guitar Songs") 2. Find guitar music with Creative Commons licence (watch the video to see how). You might get 3 or 5 or even 10 different files. Download them. 3. Edit the footage and re-arrange it, and put your own spin on it - change it up, change the sequence of tracks. So out of those 5 or 10 files that you download, take different parts and arrange into one new mp4 file. Another word of caution - it's your responsibility to make sure that items that are marked as Creative Commons actually are licenced properly, because someone may have stolen that footage from somewhere and simply marked it as Creative Commons. So be mindful of that. Without trying to scare you - just pay attention - you can usually easily tell if the video file is likely to be Creative Commons or not. If something is slick and professional and looks like it's produced by a big company recently - stay away. If something looks like home footage or amateur footage and is marked as CC then you're probably ok. This is exactly how you can make money on YouTube without making videos! 13 Ways Poor People Waste Money But Rich Don't

It seems like rich people can get anything and everything they want, considering all that money they have! But then why don't they drop bills left and right buying things that poorer people take loans to get? Even if that’s true, most rich people don't share this approach to grooming. - Only 8% of wealthy people have more than one bank card. At the same time, 77% of low-income earners carry numerous credit cards in their wallets. - Despite popular myths, rich people don't eat lobsters and ribeye steaks every day. But at the same time, they try to steer clear of junk food. - Even though almost any millionaire can afford a spacious house in a trendy neighborhood, they still search for good deals! - Most wealthy people try to stay reasonable and avoid pampering their children. They opt for high-quality and long-lasting toys as well as for something simple. - Most life coaches target low-income people who aren't at the height of their careers. A lot of people have an inherent belief in miracles, and for them, it's all too easy to think that there is a magic pill which can change their life for the better. - Since logical thinking and an analytical mind are some of the most important qualities for achieving success and becoming rich, it's no wonder that millionaires don't visit psychics and fortune-tellers. - New trends in interior design regularly appear in stores, and some people rush after fashionable home items, not wanting to fall behind in modern style. Interestingly, most of these customers are average income earners. - Most wealthy people know that too much of everything won't make you financially successful. And excess tutoring won't turn you into a skillful entrepreneur. - Obviously, the rich and powerful can afford clothes created by any fashion designer, but do they buy up all the latest collections? Nope! - All wealthy people realize that the cheapest item isn't always the most profitable. When buying something, you need to consider how the price tag today compares with the thing's worth over time. - Interestingly, millionaires aren't gadget-crazed. They can easily use old phone and laptop models as long as they work well. Besides, even if they do buy expensive state-of-the-art gadgets, that's most likely not because they feel the need to follow the trend. How To TRAVEL Full Time With No MONEY With Seasonal Jobs!

08:10
Always wanted to travel but don't think you have the time or the money? I was the same 5 years ago, but then I watched a video on Youtube and found out about seasonal work. Since 2015 I've been working seasonal jobs and have been able to travel all over the USA. And the best part is, I didn't need alot of money to get started. I only had like $1250 in my bank account when I hit the road. And I didn't even need that much. I've been able to work in Yellowstone National Park for a summer, I spent a winter in Montana working at a ski resort, I've worked in Alaska, Wyoming, and Colorado as well. And between seasonal jobs I've been able to travel all over the country. It's a great lifestyle and I want everyone to know about this opportunity to travel that requires no money. If you can scrape up enough to get to your seasonal job you will typically have room and board included. This means you can save most of the money you make. And you can use that money to finance more travel! To look at hundreds of listing of entry level seasonal jobs check out: https://www.coolworks.com. My Love Was A Man But I Had No Idea, I Feel So Violated

I Fell In Love With A Girl Online Who Turned Out To Be A Ghost I Fell In Love With An Online Ghost I Fell For The Person Who Scammed Me Online I Took A Chance On E-Dating And I’ll Never Do It Again ❀ Thank you for your constant support and engagement! We have received many stories and are working on animating them! ❀ A PROFESSIONAL Voice Actor will record your story! We do everything to keep your identity private, unless you wish differently! Hello, my name is Joseph and this is the story of how I got scammed in a way I will never forget for the rest of my life. So it starts out like this, I was in tenth grade when it happened. I was one of what you can call the ‘cool kids’ at school. I had lots of friends and everyone wanted to get to know me. I would admit that I'm probably popular because my father owns a big company and my family is very rich. But the thing is, I don't really care about money or being popular. And even though I had a lot of friends, I always felt lonely because I never had a real connection with any of these friends. All they cared about was having fun, partying and joking around. But at the end of the day, there was no one to have a sincere conversation with. Until one time, my friend Mike sent me a website link for online chats and said that I can find ‘tons of attractive girls’ there. I didn't give it much thought and I went on with my day, because most likely it was just another shallow interaction with others and I was already sick of that. But later that day, I felt kind of bored and I decided to check out that link. I logged in and started chatting with someone anonymous. I began asking questions about that person, and learned that her name was Anne and she’s a 16 year old girl. I asked her what was she like, her hobbies, what school she goes to and the conversation went on and on for 3 hours, which felt like minutes. We simply lost track of time and just enjoyed the conversation! Before saying good night, I asked her if we could talk again and she said yes. Since that day, we spoke with each other on a daily basis. Our conversations were always deep and meaningful, which made me feel like I have finally found someone to talk to, someone that can understand the real me. She also told me about her problems and I always tried to comfort her as much as I could. Unlike mine, her life was really hard and I couldn't imagine how she manages to survive everyday. Her dad was cheating on her mom and he would come home everyday drunk. He also refused to give them any money, because he spent it all on his mistress. Sometimes she wouldn't even eat because there was no food in the house. I felt so sorry for her, and if I could, I would have been there by her side. I repeatedly asked her if we could meet in person and get to know each other even better. But she always refused, she said that if her father finds out she talks with a boy, he would be very angry and she is terrified from what he could do. Instead, she sent me pictures of herself so I'd get to know her better, and her pictures were amazing. She was so beautiful. She had light brown hair, green eyes and her smile was gorgeous. To be honest, I couldn't help but develop strong emotions for Anne, in fact, she was everything I ever wanted in a girl. Because of that, I was positive that if I had to be patient until I meet her, I was willing to wait. Months went by and our bond was growing stronger and stronger, she confessed to me that she has feelings for me and I told her that I did too. We would write things like ‘I love you’ and ‘you’re the one’ to each other, and I felt like I was head over heels in love with her. Since we still couldn't meet, I was eager to at least video chat with her, but her phone camera was broken and she had no money to fix it. So I decided to send her money

My Rich Parents Lost All Their Money

03:13
Hey there, this is my story of growing up rich and losing it all. When I was a little kid, life was easy. We had 2 maids and they bought me whatever toy I wanted. So I never had to wait for my birthday or Christmas. I also went to an expensive school, but I never did any homework, because my dad had hired a tutor who did all the work for me. Yeah, okay, I was spoiled, but I was an only child and my parents had the money, so why wouldn’t they spend it on me, right? Well, today I wish my parents had been stricter. Maybe then I would have been prepared for what happened next. You see, my Dad had made lots of money from his own company. He had built it up from nothing and became a millionaire. But then something went wrong and the government shut his whole company down. We lost everything and had to move out of our beautiful home and into a small apartment. Luckily, we weren’t homeless, but still… life became very hard overnight. While my parents were struggling to find jobs, I was struggling with the most basic things like getting myself ready for school. No one was helping me. And when my mom told me to take the school bus, I freaked out and screamed at her that she should drive me to school. But my mom was so stressed that she yelled at me: ‘shut up and stop annoying me.’ I was shocked and got even more angry because no one had ever talked to me like that before. After a few weeks, I switched from my private school to a public school and things were very different. The food tasted horrible and most of the teachers couldn’t remember my name. I also got some pretty bad grades, and instead of helping me, my parents just called me lazy. That’s when I realised that I had to learn to depend on myself. Even though those were the toughest years of my life, I'm grateful for the experience now. And luckily, things got easier after my dad had a promotion at work. My mom stopped cleaning houses and I got a new tutor. Her name was Isabelle and she always made sure I did my homework. And when I started doing my own homework, I discovered that I loved math and that I’m really good at it! You can’t imagine how excited I was, to show my dad my A- math exam. He said that he had never been more proud of me and hung it right onto the refrigerator. Recently, I met up with some of my old friends from before. And I realised how spoiled they were. One of them complained how her father refused to buy her a new designer bag, even though she already had so many of them. To me it seemed ridiculous to complain about something so unimportant and stupid. But maybe I would have been just like her if my parents hadn't lost it all. Now I'm at college studying engineering while also working at a clothing store 5 days a week to help pay my tuition. I’m always tired, but I don't wanna complain because I know that many people have it much, much harder. It sounds strange, but I'm kinda glad my parents went broke. It forced me to work hard, overcome challenges and appreciate what I have. I’m a useful person now, and not just some an entitled leech.

I was completely innocent, but nobody believed me. I got in trouble a lot, and teachers knew that, and, well, they didn’t like me that much. They even called my parents pretty often, but my parents didn’t really care. It was also pretty hard to make friends, and a lot of other people thought I was weird, but nobody ever said anything to me face to face, because they were afraid of me. Thankfully, I had had one friend since I was a kid. His name is Matt and we've been friends since the first grade. One day, our teacher called me into her office and told me “Okay, Neil, I know the truth. Tell me where they are.” I was like, “What are you talking about?” and she kept looking at me with this serious look. After a long and awkward silence she told me “I know you took our school trip money from the table. If you return it, you won’t be in trouble, I promise. I didn’t know what to say. Basically, the class below us was collecting money for a trip, and apparently our teacher was keeping it on her table, and one day it disappeared. I got very angry because of the accusation and raised my voice saying, “I didn’t take the money, I never touched it!” My teacher sighed and said, “We all know that it was you, Neil. Who else could it be?” I answered, “It could be anyone, because you weren’t smart enough to not keep it out on your table!” After this, I stormed out of the classroom. I thought that was the end of it, and this teacher wouldn’t bother me anymore, but it was far from over. That was only the beginning. The next day, I was called into the principal’s office. I went there, and to my surprise, the principal was waiting for me along with two teachers, and one of them was the same one that accused me of stealing the money. I was very angry and started to talk with them aggressively, but they were answering in a very calm manner. Too calm. They were saying that they know that I did it, and it was okay, because I have problems at home and need money, they tried to act “understanding,” but I kept saying that it wasn’t me, that I didn’t even touch the money, and they kept pushing it. I asked if they had any evidence besides my “reputation,” and they said that several people said they saw me take the money. This kept going on and on, every day they would invite me in and keep asking me the same questions and I would deny everything, and basically they would make me stay longer after school and even check my backpack. But NOBODY would believe me, because everybody in school knew the rumor that I stole the money and everybody... believed it. And to be honest, I was ready to confess. That would be easier than sitting in a small room with three adults who were taking hours of their life to prove that I was a thief and secretly hating me. They said that if I wouldn’t confess, they would have no choice but to expel me. I went home that day, preparing to say that I had done it the next day. But thankfully, Matt was patiently waiting for me so we could walk home together. I told him everything and he said that I shouldn’t confess, and I said that they would expel me if I didn’t. Matt laughed and said “No they won’t, they are just bluffing to make you say it. They would call the police if they had any real evidence. They just need someone to blame, and I know that you didn’t take the money.” I asked Matt what I should do then, and he said “Not YOU, what WE should do.” So basically, he had some kind of a plan. Matt was smarter than me in that sense. He said that we should look closely at the class that was younger than us, the one that was planning the trip. One of them probably took the money and maybe we would notice something. So we started to “spy” on them, trying to notice anything that was out of the ordinary. We thought it would be hard and time-consuming, but actually, we found the truth in one day. One kid had a brand new Nintendo Switch. Yeah, maybe his parents bought it for him, but it was more than a coincidence that he had just gotten it and he was showing it off to everyone, surrounding himself with bunch of other guys. And, to boot, the price of it was around the same as the amount of money that was stolen. I got very angry and was on my way straight to him. Matt stopped me and said that we should be smart about it, to make him confess. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened

You Won't Be Rich If You Do One of These 14 Mistakes

07:59
Bernard Shaw once said that this world is full of idlers who don’t want to work and just want to make money, while those who are ready to work never get rich. You work hard but your salary still leaves much to be desired? You have to change something. If you wanna be rich, you gotta work hard, plan your budget and live within your means. This all sounds like well-known, logical advice. However, there are some less obvious ways to get there, such as avoiding shopping on sunny days or in comfortable shoes. It only makes sense to clean every plate straight away if you’re eating foods that stick to the plate for good. - Try calculating the price of something you want to buy in your own labor costs and hours. - A 2017 study from researchers at New York University and the University of Sydney in Australia has shown that people are more likely to take risks in bright light. - Do you invest a lot of time in your Instagram page? Make it work for you! If you have a hobby you’re passionate about, or are just great at describing your daily routine, turn it into your part-time or full-time job! - Even if you don’t have a large family and don’t need that much food or supplies, you can team up with your neighbors and order stuff together. - Fill the kettle with exactly as much water as you need to have tea, for example. It will not only save water, but also energy, and Mother Nature will be grateful to you. - The next time you decide to head to a hardware store for a tool you’ll likely never use again, go to a rental shop instead. And, it doesn’t only work with tools these days. - If you get hungry on your way somewhere and stop at a store or fast food restaurant, you’ll likely overspend on things you don’t really need and won’t finish anyway. SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This guy, who's breaking the toilet, is me. Why am I doing that? I’ll tell you, and I hope you’ll understand why I did it. My name is Josh, I am fourteen, and I come from a small family: it's just my mother and I. Actually my father is also part of our family, but he is always away. He works from dawn till dusk to make my mother and me happy. I mean we are not a poor family, we can buy everything we need, my Mom can keep her housekeeping blog and work from home, and every summer my parents send me to camp. I know that many of you are thinking I’m complaining for nothing right now. But I have to tell you, it feels like I don’t have a father – I basically live with Santa. When I wake up, my dad is already at his job, and he comes home when I'm already sleeping. Every weekend he does different chores around the house, goes shopping, and meets his friends to play poker at their place. I almost never see him and we don't spend time together like other guys do with their fathers. I am glad that he can provide for our family and I am honestly proud of him, but I do miss him very much. My last birthday made me really upset. I invited a lot friends and we just wanted to hang out and make steaks and burgers on the grill. But suddenly my dad received a phone call, gave me my gift, excused himself, and went to his job. And after that I had an idea! I decided to turn into a rebel. The next morning I put on jeans and a t-shirt, instead of my school uniform. Mom got really angry and insisted that I change my clothes. We started screaming and swearing. Then I refused to change clothes, refused to eat breakfast, and left the house abruptly. I knew that I was insulting my mother, but I was trying not to be too rude and it was only temporary anyway. It was all part of the plan. That day at school was also not an ordinary day. I got my first “F” and a warning for being late. To make things clear, this has never happened to me before. Mr. Brown – the principal of our school – is a friend of my parents, which is why he called my mom and asked her to talk to me about my school uniform and my behavior. When I came home, my mother was waiting for me, and she was NOT happy. She tried to find out what was happening with me. I just said something sarcastic and went to my room. My mom shouted at me that when my dad comes home after work, he will talk to me, man to man. I heard it behind the closed door in my room and was so happy. My plan had worked. But dad came home from work really late. I tried waiting up for him for a long time, but eventually fell asleep. I woke up in the morning and realized that I needed to change my strategy. My mom was still offended by me and wouldn't talk to me. I didn't eat my breakfast again and left the house. But this time I did not go to school. I knew that a pizzeria down the street was in need of a janitor. I did not have any pocket money, so I had to earn it. I'm a pretty smart guy, so I was immediately hired to work there. One week went by and every day my mother scolded me for being absent from school, for my bad behavior, and my disobedience. She even tried to drive me to school in her car, but it didn't help - I'd wait for a couple of minutes and then leave. I understood that she was worried and didn't want me to get into trouble, so I never got involved with that crowd. I did not want to upset my mother. I didn't go to school or to work on Monday. Instead I stayed at home. I went into the bathroom, but not to take a shower and get ready. I just started to break the toilet and shut off the faucet. Then I told my mother that I broke faucet and toilet by accident. She did not act surprised. But I said that I would fix everything on my own. Mom reminded me that Dad was a specialist at fixing things in the bathroom and that he would come in the evening and fix everything. But I didn’t want to wait till the evening. When Mom went to write her blog, I took the phone and dialed the number to the plumbing service. I told the manager about the issue and she took down my address. She said that they would send someone over in about ten minutes. Ten minutes later, I heard the door open. It was my father: in his uniform, with a tool box and a puzzled face. I probably need to explain that my dad is a plumber. He is the only plumber working in our area, which is why he is busy all the time. I knew that I could spend time with my father if I called him to fix the bathroom in our home. His services are not cheap, so that's why I had to get the job. I told my parents about everything and said that I had earned the money to pay for my dad's work.. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com

Why I don't spend money.

14:09
So I think it’s no surprise, for those of you who’ve watched my channel for awhile, or who know me in person, that I’m pretty frugal…here’s why I don’t spend money. Enjoy! Add me on Instagram: GPStephan The YouTube Creator Academy: Learn EXACTLY how to get your first 1000 subscribers on YouTube, rank videos on the front page of searches, grow your following, and turn that into another income source: https://bit.ly/2STxofv $100 OFF WITH CODE 100OFF (Limited Time Only) Join the private Real Estate Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/therealestatemillionairemastermind/ Merch: http://www.GrahamStephanStore.com/ My ENTIRE Camera and Recording Equipment: https://www.amazon.com/shop/grahamstephan?listId=2TNWZ7RP1P1EB The video summer up: I try to save 100% of my income by ONLY living the extra cashflow my rental properties generate, and it doesn’t matter how much I earn every month. I’ve adopted this mindset that I live by: I only earn what my money makes me. It doesn’t matter how much I make every month, I ONLY care about how much THAT money will make me INDEFINITELY if I invest it…and THAT is the amount of money I think I actually earn. So if I have $100,000 net income in a month…that’s not $100,000, and I don’t have a lifestyle like I’m making $100,000 per month. Because FOR ME, that $100,000 is REALLY worth $300 per month…for the rest of my life. That’s how much $100,000 will buy me in inflation adjusted passive income, without ever worrying about running out of principle. And when you see that $100,000 equals $300 per month…now you can understand why I’m not out there ballin with over the top luxuries. I can MAYBE increase my lifestyle $300 per month for every month I invest $100,000...but that’s about it. Now call me pessimistic, or maybe I just have a realistic approach to all of this…but I’m not naive to think that this type of income will last forever. While I would LOVE for it to continue indefinitely, and I have NO intention of ever stopping, and I intend to be at the level of Grant Cardone, Gary Vee, and Dave Ramsey one day…I just realize that things change over time, and nothing will continue on indefinitely. ESPECIALLY on Social Media, I’ve seen people come and go every few years…it’s just the normal cycle of things. And while I definitely intend to have as much longevity as I possibly can, I realize that just as quickly as my income scaled up - it could go down. Hopefully it doesn’t go down though… I just really believe it’s smart to PREPARE for these things because life happens, and things outside of your control can and will come up…and then at the same time, focus on how you can continue growing and expanding so that it’ll last as long as it possible can. Cautiously optimistic is a good way to sum this up. And here’s the thing…at the end of the day, money is really just about giving you OPTIONS. It’s about having the OPTION to pursue what you enjoy the most. It’s about having the OPTION to sleep in if you feel like it. It’s about the OPTION to focus your time on what means the most FOR YOU. So what DO I spend money on, then, if I’m so frugal? Well, besides index funds and real estate…which is basically where all my money goes..I spend it on things that really bring me value. Like I found a good deal in Las Vegas for $22 all you can eat sushi…and to me, that’s basically me splurging. Beyond that…I really don’t need to spend money to make me happy. I like sleeping in, I like doing some light gardening in the backyard when it’s warm out…which is like every day here in Los Angeles, I like hanging out with good friends, I love a good conversation about random stuff, I love having the creativity to make youtube videos. That’s what makes me happy. And for everyone watching, I guess the main takeaway here is that money’s main purpose is to give you security, and give you the option to pursue what you feel is best! I Lost All My Money In A Card Game

★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hi, this is Cameron. He’s fifteen, and the story he’s going to tell you took place about a year ago. While all of this was happening, he lost a lot of cash – some of which didn’t even belong to him – and he was really stressed out. But at least he learned his lesson! Cameron doesn’t have a lot of friends at school, but there is a group of guys he hangs out with. They’re called Nate, Mitch and Jordan. They’re all from the same class, so at any moment of the day the chances are they can be seen together. They hang out almost every day after school, and usually they go to Mitch’s house. His family’s got a really big house, and there’s always stuff to do – inside or outside. They play basketball, watch TV or YouTube videos; Mitch has got a PlayStation, of course…they even have a pool table, since his dad is a big fan of stuff like that. But of course, if you spend enough time there, even in a place like that house, you still get bored. So at one point they found themselves looking for something else to do. And after a while, Mitch turned up one day with a small metal case. It was his father’s poker set. Both his parents were at work, so all four of them sat down at the table and started playing. Mitch was the only one of them who knew the rules, so he taught everyone else to play. Jordan and Cameron didn’t know anything about poker, and Nate barely knew the rules. After several rounds, once all of them got the main idea, Nate had another suggestion. There’s almost always a guy like this in every group of friends. He said that playing with no stakes wasn’t fun enough, and that they had to at least bet on something. The guys seemed enthusiastic about this, while Cameron didn’t like the idea from the very beginning. His parents had always told him to stay away from anything that involved gambling. Cameron became even more reluctant when, after they couldn’t find anything else to use, Nate proposed betting with real money. Cameron comes from a family that’s not all that rich. His dad works a day job and designs websites at night as a freelancer, and his mom works long hours as a nurse. They have everything they need, but he can’t afford to lose money like that just playing with the guys, because he doesn’t get a lot from his parents in the first place. But his other friends, especially Mitch, come from families that are pretty well-off. When Cameron refused to play with real money, the guys reassured him that it was going to be fine, and that they'd keep the stakes low so no one would lose that much money. And playing with three people, they said, was not as fun as playing with four. He doesn’t even really remember how it happened, but eventually he gave in – reluctantly. Imagine how he felt when, two hours later, he was leaving Mitch’s house with three times more money than he’d had when they started. In the beginning he had something like ten dollars, and when they finished he had thirty. Now, that did feel good! So of course, he was happy to play the next day when they all gathered at Mitch’s house. That first night, before he fell asleep, he had been lying there in his bed thinking about how much money he could get if he just played like that at least twice a week. He had been saving for a mountain bike for a while already, and now he estimated that he could save up the remaining money for it within a week or two! So, that’s why he was ready to play! But this time, it didn’t go the way he expected. He not only didn’t win anything but also lost every dollar he had on him. Like, he was doing the same things he did the day before, but he just...didn’t have any luck. By this point, all four of them were totally into poker. They planned their next poker afternoon for the very next day, and Cameron really wanted to play, since he couldn’t stop thinking about his first day at the table, when he was winning. And when the time came for the next game at Mitch’s house, he had about a hundred dollars with him. This was all of his bike savings. But at the end of the session, the only money he had left was a ten-dollar bill. And within a couple of days that was gone too. And the same thing happened with the small amounts of money his parents gave him. Whenever he won some money, he'd lose it almost immediately. Gambling wasn't fun any more, but the thought of winning like he had on that first day kept popping up in his head. Also, they stopped talking about anything other than poker, and a couple of times a fight almost broke out. Then one morning Cameron’s parents asked him to go to the supermarket to buy groceries from their shopping list... To know more, watch this story to the end! My Mom Got Extremely Obese After My Dad Left Us

My name is Jim. I am seventeen years old and I will tell you the story about my mother and how she nearly died on a sunny spring day because of my father. Oh yes, strange things do happen. On that day, my mother received a message on Facebook about how her husband had checked into a motel room near the highway. And it seemed that he wasn't alone there. So she left her house and walked through town to get to the motel. It was hard for my mother to walk past our neighbors’ houses as they watched her from the windows. Somebody even left their house to take a closer look. And it's no wonder... my mother had literally led an almost hermetically-sealed existence, locked away from the world for almost three years. For her, each step was almost excruciating, and it didn't help that they were all looking at her with judgement and disgust. Maybe it wasn't true, but this was probably the reason why her heart was beating faster at that moment which eventually resulted in her heart attack near the motel. Oh, one last thing I haven't shared: my mother weighed more than five hundred pounds. A long time ago our family life was perfectly normal. I wouldn't necessarily say that we were particularly happy, but everything was normal. My mother, father, and my three younger brothers and sisters lived together in a small house on the outskirts of a little Texas town. The only person who earned money in our family was our father. My mother was a housewife and never worked, and honestly we could hardly make ends meet with our father’s salary. He didn't have a profession that was in high-demand and the unemployment rate in our town was high… so our family was pretty poor. But still I don't remember that I was really in need of anything in my childhood." It wasn't until the age of twelve that I understood what real poverty meant. My youngest brother was less than six months old when our father dumped our family. I don’t remember exactly how it happened. You know, sometimes our brains just black out some of the awful episodes in our minds. I think that's what happened in this case. All I remember now is that it was late at night when my father packed his things and left in his old car, leaving the garage open. And in the morning mother found a note there. It said that he couldn't live with us anymore. That this life was eating him up and he could not stand this endless family routine that didn't bring him any happiness. That was why he was leaving us in order to move to South America, while it was not too late, at least for him. Father didn't leave us any contact information, so we never found out if it was true or not. He didn't even tell us the name of the country he was going to. My mother was broken, and the news had nearly killed her. For two reasons: first, after her husband just up and left, she was all alone, with four kids, with no work, with no money, and even without a car. Second, everyone in our town immediately found out about my father’s disappearance in detail, including the contents of the note he left. Well, you have to understand, when people know each other for so many years, it's hard to keep this news a secret – news would spread immediately, even when our parents were little. And now that every house has the internet, it's even worse! My mother was ashamed to have been dumped and she felt really humiliated. Well, from that day on I suddenly had to grow up – I was the oldest man in the family. Now I had to take responsibility. Of course I couldn't take on a lot at twelve years old, so for some time our family barely existed on government assistance, but as soon as I could start working officially, I got a job at the nearest car wash, where I've worked until now. Work was not too hard and the owner of the car wash was nice to me, but I didn't have any free time. I was ALWAYS busy - at school, at work, or at home where I had to share all the house work with my sister. Сleaning, cooking, and looking after the younger ones… You might ask: why I had to share all this with my sister? The thing is that my mom just completely stopped being herself and wasn't able to take care of us. For several years after my father left us, my mom tried to hang in there but she couldn't fight her depression any longer. She became very sad. She even had problems going out to eat because she thought that everyone in town would look at her – some with pity, some with mockery. Both were unbearable for her. So she spent most of her life on the sofa: watching TV or surfing the internet with our old, barely working laptop. And also my mother ate very VERY much... I Thought This Hobo Was A Thief But Then He Saved Me

★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j Hello, this is Jess, and this is the story of how she almost caught the wrong thief by mistake. Her sister works at a small convenience store that's open 24/7, right below the apartment they live in. Their parents work a lot, so she spends most of her free time there, especially during the summer break. The owner, Mr. Garrison, doesn't mind her hanging out there; he probably sees her almost like another employee because of how much she helps her sister. So, one time Jess was alone in the store - her sister and Mr. Garrison had gone to the storeroom and left her in charge. She was minding her own business when she noticed a very suspicious-looking man walk in. He was dressed poorly and looked like a typical hobo, with a messy beard and old ragged clothes. He was wandering around, looking at stuff but not picking anything up. He was acting really weird, so she decided to follow him and find out what he was up to. He tried to avoid her and hide between the aisles, but she kept onto him. When he headed toward the exit, she saw her chance to catch him red-handed. But she needed to find her sister or Mr. Garrison first. So she rushed to the storeroom, but instead just ran straight into another customer – a rich-looking lady wearing a fur coat in the middle of March. She knew instantly that she was one of those “demanding” customers who could cause a scene out of thin air. She didn't even have time to say a word before she grabbed her arm and started yelling at her for “not doing my job” and “running around like a madman.” Jess told her that she didn't even work there and that the real cashier would be back soon. But that made her even angrier. “You're a lazy brat! You're lying to me so you can get away with it!” She was so loud that Jess was afraid that Mr. Garrison would hear it, and she didn't want to cause problems for her sister, so she did her best to calm her down. She tried to be professional and asked her what she could help her with, but the woman was relentless. She was going on and on about what an irresponsible and useless worker Jess was. And just when she was on the verge of crying, the suspicious guy suddenly intervened. “Leave the girl alone. She's clearly too young to work here,” he said. That didn't work and now she was yelling at both of us, saying that he was just covering for her to get her out of trouble. So now they were arguing about whether she worked there or not. Meanwhile, she was extremely confused about why a thief would stand up for her. She was sure he had stolen something, she just didn't know what exactly. She started having doubts. Maybe she was wrong about him? Or was he doing it so she'd let him go with stolen goods? Finally, Mr. Garrison and her sister walked in and asked what was going on. She tried to answer, but the guy and the lady started shouting again. Mr. Garrison tried to make them be quiet, but without any success. Out of everything that was said, she understood only that the suspicious guy accused the crazy lady of stealing something and then yelling at her to cover it up. Woah, Jess hadn't seen that coming. He was trying to shift the blame! Like, she was grateful that he was standing up for her, but accusing the lady was pretty low. Mr. Garrison told her sister to check the surveillance cameras to see if what the guy said was true. Jess couldn't understand why he believed the guy. Obviously, this respectable and dignified woman would never do such a thing. She was crazy, yes, but surely not a thief. Although, on second thought, there was something fishy about her. She was trying to close her purse and leave when Mr. Garrison showed up, when just a minute ago she had demanded to see him. It turned out that she had stolen some expensive cheese, and also a bottle of wine. And when Jess ran into her, she was putting it into her bag. Why she did it was beyond her understanding. She certainly looked rich enough to pay for all the things she tried to steal. Then Mr. Garrison called the police, and conveniently they were just around the corner. At first, the crazy lady tried to deny everything and said that they had put the things in her purse on purpose. When her sister showed everyone the recording from the surveillance cameras, she demanded that they arrest the other guy because he had definitely stolen something too. Finally, she started crying and yelling again, and for some reason demanded a lawyer. The police officers weren't impressed by her acting skills and just escorted her out. WORK IN PROGRESS I made this video of a dress rehearsal for a personal project: I'm exploring the idea of staging and performing oratorio as opera, with a simple set and props that support the story line. There are a few technical issues I need to address, but the single biggest improvement would be to add a piano accompaniment. Singing the aria unaccompanied does not work quite as well as I'd hoped, due to the long rests. With crowd funding, I can hire an accompanist and add a whole new dimension to my project. If you would like to donate to my project, I will be very grateful for your support. Here are two ways you can help me move my project forward: DONATE: paypal.me/fwchapman SHARE: bit.ly/tippett-project Thank you so much! Fred Chapman Tenor Soloist

Can I Start an Online Business With no Money?

10:54
Yes, it is possible to start an online business with almost no money. That is one of the biggest advantages of starting an online business instead of a traditional brick and mortar business. But if you have no money to invest, you will have to invest time. Another option is to get a loan and start a business. I personally think that it is a very bad idea to start your first business on 100% borrowed money. I explain why in the video. Also in this video, I explain what I believe is the best way to start your first business if you have no capital to invest. You can Listen to the audiobook of the "The richest man on Babylon" here: This is the program I'm using to start and grow my own online business.

Seed Funding for Startups: How to raise venture capital as an entrepreneur

11:12
Raising money is hard. It's so hard most companies fail at it. In this video, we'll look into traction requirements, pitch decks, alternative funding sources and on how to find investors. This is seed funding for entrepreneurs. I'm the CEO of a company called Slidebean, and thousands of startups have used our platform to create their pitch decks. Their success is our success, and this is why we get involved with them and have learned a thing or to about what works, and what doesn't. I started my first company in 2011, and I failed at raising capital. I know the pain of shutting down a website you spent countless hours on, and having to email all your customers to say it's game over. The problem with my first company is that we spent too much time trying to find investors, hence we failed to notice some of the fundamental flaws in our product. For Slidebean, we raised a seed round of $800,000 which has allowed us to grow to a team of 25, increase our revenue to seven digits and become profitable in the process. And yeah, it was hard. I'm telling you this because I want you to trust my advice. I tried and failed, and I can look back and see why I got a 'NO' from most of the 142 investors I pitched. Yeah, 142 to raise $800,000. So let's talk about traction, first. I have this problem with startup press (but we love YOU, @jordanrcrook). It gives new founders a false notion of how fundraising works. You read the story of Yo, an app that just sent notifications saying 'Yo' and how they raised a $1,000,000 seed round, and you assume that's something anyone with a couple of lines of code can do. Most companies raise money AFTER getting traction. Very few companies raise money with just a prototype and no users, and certainly, NO company raises money without a fully formed founding team. The most extreme case here is tech companies that are trying to raise money to hire a CTO. This makes no sense. Tech talent is expensive, and it's scarce, and the first proof that your company is worth something is that you managed to find a full stack developer that would turn down a job at Google to work on this idea. As a CEO, you need to be able to find and convince that guy, who joins your company for the stock and not for the salary; when he could be making $150,000/yr otherwise. The reality of startup fundraising today, at least in Silicon Valley and New York, is that companies are pitching investors with traction, excellent traction. Traction usually comes in the form of revenue: tens of thousands of dollars per month, growing over +20% month-over-month. I'm not making this up, check this article by VC Elizabeth Yin. Pure play, no-revenue traction counts only when you are dealing with millions of users and fantastic retention rates. So how can you get to these numbers venture capitalists expect, if you don't have any money to start with? Yeah well, bootstrapping. We bought our domain in 2013 and started working on our product, but it was only after 18 months that we managed to get any decent money to ramp up growth. It was $100,000 from the 500 Startups program, but we'll talk about accelerators in a minute. From May 2013 through October 2014 we bootstrapped. We did part-time consulting so we could pay our bills. We had a $1,000 salary each, and we shared an apartment. It was barely enough, but the backgrounds of the three founders made up for all the talent we needed: no need to hire anyone. Our company burn rate was probably $3,500 including our 'salaries' and the services we needed. It sucked; but if you can live on a budget and put up with your co-founders while having no idea what's going to happen, you've passed a very tough test. -- Links we referred to: Check out this one for more info on how to get into an accelerator: https://slidebean.com/blog/startups/accelerator-application-500-startups?utm_source=youtube.com&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=video-content&utm_term=seed-funding Download our Pitch Deck template: https://slidebean.com/business-presentation-templates/?utm_source=youtube.com&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=video-content&utm_term=seed-funding To Download our Managing Investors spreadsheet template sign up to FounderHub here: https://founderhub.io/?utm_source=youtube.com&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=video-content&utm_term=seed-funding Elizabeth Yin Article: https://elizabethyin.com/2018/10/18/should-you-raise-money-or-bootstrap/ ► Subscribe to our Channel Here http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=slidebean -- About Us: Slidebean is a pitch deck creation tool with hundreds of templates available to use as a starting point.
